Mansion vacation rentals in Essex

We have just spent a long weekend at Ashmi's lovely house with our children, their partners and our grandchildren. The house was well equipped for all our needs and the welcome pack was well received. We loved the hot tub which we used several times during our stay. We spent a day at Duxford Airfield which is literally 10 mins down the road. If I had to say anything that could be improved it would be that maybe a few more pillows could be provided as some of the group struggled with just one pillow each, but it certainly didn't affect our enjoyment. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a large house to spend time with either family or friends.

Well appointed house in a quiet residential area. Hard to find 4 bedroom houses in this area so was very helpful to us that it was also in the area we preferred for access to family. Also close to Chelmsford and useful local shops. Very clean house with comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Kitchen is very well stocked with equipment. Garden looked nice though we didn’t use it. Parking on street outside - easy during the day but local roads become very full by the evening. Useful to have the driveway at the back as a back up. Security is high and access to host or local person was via doorbell ring intercom available 24hours a day as well as through the App. Host was very helpful. A comfortable stay.

My family and I loved our stay at the Dove House! The house is very clean and spacious, perfect for a family. It is walking distance to underground train stations, as well as shops. Soskia was an absolutely amazing host, and was very helpful throughout the stay with all our needs. We felt very comfortable throughout the stay and look forward to our next one!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 adjoined cottages as it gave extra space and privacy too. The games room is inspired - a refuge for older children or adults with table tennis, table football, a radio and outdoor games but an independent goal for our toddlers too with gocarts and balls. Walking routes from the door meant no travelling by car for us so we'll have to visit again to see some of the many sights we've yet to visit! There are quite a lot of stairs between all the cottages which the children loved but put their parents on guard! The views the hillside afforded though were magnificent. And the animals on the working farm were a source of delight. Well equipped, Kate was on hand should we have any queries.

Great stay at Aiste’s place - she was very accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Location was great - very central and places to eat nearby. Lots of room for a large group.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Nova’s property! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The location was perfect – close to underground, yet still peaceful and relaxing. Nova was an exceptional host, always quick to respond to any questions and making sure we felt right at home. The thoughtful touches, like Wine bottle and Roshen chocolate, truly went above and beyond our expectations. We can’t recommend this place enough and would love to stay here again on our next visit. It was a great location only walking distance to Wansted tube station. The kids loved the trampoline and the space around the house as Richard had left lots of toys for them to play with. The house was nice and clean and had a drive way which allowed us to park our vehicle.

We stayed at this property over the Christmas week to visit family. We needed a home with 4 bedrooms, and this was perfect for our needs. The bedding was pristine, and the house clean and tidy. The communication with Charlie was excellent. If circumstances arise we would definitely come back.

This house is delightful, and I would strongly recommend it - it was everything and more. The bedrooms are charming, the kitchen is wonderful, the rooms are impressive, and the garden is superb. Wow. This house is beautiful, it was immaculately clean and wonderful. Liz was so responsive and helpful the entire time, we really appreciated her local recommendations. The house is beautiful, so spacious and well kept. Absolutely no issues, all the facilities we needed and more.

A stunning countryside venue that made our wedding unforgettable—though communication could be improved. The setting was magical, and Jaqua was kind and helpful throughout most of the process. However, there were issues: outdated marquee photos led to confusion, and a last-minute £500 deposit request added stress just days before the event. We’re grateful she ultimately allowed the agreed setup and the day was beautiful. Regarding the music—yes, it went 15 minutes over and we take full responsibility. With so much happening, we lost track of time. We did ask the DJ to turn it down, but the way it was handled—threatening to “pull out his sockets”—was unprofessional and unnecessary. The right thing would’ve been to approach me or my husband directly—we were present and would’ve resolved it instantly. That said, we're glad you enjoyed the open bar and shared in our joy. We'd recommend this venue—with clear, early communication, mutual respect, and written agreements.

I’ve really enjoyed my stay at Matty’s house. It’s been a truly relaxing and comfortable experience. The house itself is lovely, clean, and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. One of the highlights was the beautiful, neat garden, which offered a perfect spot to unwind and soak up the fresh air. Located in a peaceful village near Brentwood, it is the ideal place to relax and recharge. Thank you, Matty, for a wonderful stay!

Eleven of us stayed in the barn and stables for the weekend. The barn and stables both have fantastic living, dining and cooking spaces especially the barn which has a double height gallery. All the bedrooms are comfortable, clean and private. The pool is amazing and very well maintained. Our host made sure we had everything we needed. The grounds are delughtful with plenty of lovely doves and chickens. We had a great stay and would highly recommend :)

Where do I start! This property was a Fantastic gateway and the price we paid was totally worth it. The property was clean and faultless. The swimming pool and hot tub was an added bonus and the garden outside makes it seem like you are in another country. I will definitely recommend this property and it is worth every penny and I will definitely return again. The hosts were responsive and any issues I had was dealt with swiftly. The property is in a good location and the property is full of amenities

Laura's house was the perfect accommodation for us. It was very spacious and very near to a family event. We went to Maldon for the morning and did a walk from the house to the lakes in the afternoon. All very central, yet very peaceful surroundings. Stayed here with 10 guys. There is ample room to sit together to have dinner, a large enough lounge for everyone to relax and all spaced that require less clothing is very private and not overlooked. The upper balcony is shared with a bedroom from 16A, but I assume that is not in use when the place is booked. Driveway is shared with adjacent property but you can still fit 4 cars. Hot tubs extremely well maintained. Furniture is in excellent condition. Furnishings are modern and tasteful. All kitchen appliances work with ample crockery and cutlery. Beds are very comfortable and allow flexible sleeping arrangements. Bathrooms were very clean.

We booked a last-minute stay at Sharon’s on Mersey Island and we were not disappointed. The caravan had all we need and was perfect for us, it was cosy, clean and very inviting. It’s a moments walk from the beach and the clubhouse, which worked well for us with a toddler. Sharon responded swiftly to our text and gave us perfectly clear instructions on how to arrive and leave the property. We would not hesitate to stay here again

we rented both the rose and court barns, absolutely lovely buildings amd having the pool was great, we met Nigel on arrival he was friendly and polite,he walked us through the barns and showed us how everything worked, all in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back for a return visit.
