Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Eel River

This house is so gorgeous I wish it was for sale. The hot tub was a huge bonus on top of the amazing view. The mattress was exstreamly comfortable.

The home was wonderful with well thought-out and creative details in every room. The beds were comfortable. The location and views were incredible. We spent the evening by the fireplace watching the sunset and then listened to the ocean waves and stargazed while sitting in the hottub. The stay made for an unforgettable experience for my family who had flown in to visit us and the area!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely studio in Eureka! My husband and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout our visit. The accommodations were excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped—making it an ideal base for exploring the nearby Redwood Forest. We also loved trying Gill’s By The Bay, a charming local seafood restaurant just a short drive away, where the fresh food and bay views made for a memorable meal. Plus, the studio’s easy on and off access to Highway 101 made getting around the area hassle-free. We highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Eureka! The sound machine was a thoughtful touch that helped us unwind, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—just what we needed after long days exploring the Redwoods. The peaceful location, nearby beach sunsets, and hospitality made our trip truly special. We would definitely love to stay here again!

It was a lovely home, the space was quiet and the neighborhood calm. We loved the aesthetic and felt right at home, being able to sit outside and enjoy it all was a huge plus. Within walking distance of a microbrewery, grocery store, and historic Arcata. A list of local restaurants and hikes were available to us, they were friendly and responsive people, I felt right at home. Thank you!!

My husband and I agree, this may be our favorite air bnb that we have stayed in. The landscaping was so beautiful, the place was spacious and nicely furnished with local touches and great recommendations. It was close to lots of restaurants, and there are literally redwoods behind the home! We definitely recommend this place!

I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a cleaner air bnb! Everything was spotless, the bed was comfy, kitchen was well stocked, hosts were extremely accommodating of our needs, and we couldn’t have asked for more. 10/10 recommend!

This stay was absolutely incredible. The home is welcoming but the backyard will blow your mind. I’m a plant lover and was amazed at the beautiful flowers. There were plenty of birds to hear and see sitting on the deck or relaxing in the hot tub. The town is very welcoming and there’s plenty to see and do not too far away. I would stay here again!

Barrie was extremely responsive & helpful from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smiling face, kindness and a fabulous place that exceeded our expectations! Barrie goes that “extra mile” to make things super special for guests. The setting is peaceful, beautiful, creative and full of interesting things to enjoy, indoors and out. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay! Host communicates very well. Can hear traffic from road sometimes but it’s not too bad. Would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was spacious, beautiful and clean in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was close to great food and a brewery which was perfect for me after a long day of work. 10/10 recommend and I would stay there again!

The Eco-Conscious Apartment was an incredibly thoughtful and lovely place to stay. You don’t find a lot of places like these where there is intent behind everything! Karin was an amazing host who showed us nothing less than kindness and shared insights on local restaurants and activities for my partner and I to do. It was refreshing to have a host like Karin who is not in the rental game just for profit but genuinely wants to share the experience of the location and community with others, too. It’s a perfect distance from the National Park where we spent most of our time. My partner and I are already talking about coming back and staying here again next year!

Stuart was an amazing host. Easy going and kind. Made sure we got in safe. Had good recommendations, gave clear directions. Everything we needed was there, towels, extra blankets, fully equipped kitchen, it was like being at home only cleaner and clutter free. Enjoyed our morning walks to town for breakfast and shopping. Space is private and quiet. We will be back.

Great place to stay! Exactly as photographed and described. The space is nice and clean, and set in a peaceful environment. The host had clear instructions and was communicative throughout. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at Bob and Amy's. Very cozy studio that we used for 5 nights to explore redwoods, lagoons, beaches and Eureka. We took advantage of the full kitchen in the studio for some light cooking, bathroom with shower was fine, enough room and comfortable to enjoy dinner at night. Nicely decorated studio, with taste, was a plus, you feel like at home! Close by trails and redwoods, within walking distance. 10 min walking to Arcata downtown (Wildberry Market grocery store, a few restaurants...). Amy welcomed us the first day, very friendly host.

I can’t really say enough good things about this stunning place. The view? Like are we watching a TV screen of the most majestic ocean ever or is this the window? The fireplace. The locations. The staff. Legit, book it. Thanks me later. The price is great for what you get. Im a neat freak and Larry left our place spotless. Bottom line— I have stayed all over the world in quite a few hotels and b&bs but this is a place not to be missed. Just dont take the next days I want. 🤣 Happy travels all!

Loved our stay at Shelter Cove, the views were unbeatable and it was also a great night for stargazing. We enjoyed the balcony and the jacuzzi in the living room that looked out into the ocean. Everything was incredible comfortable, we would definitely stay here again.

Susan and her sister Ashley's place was perfect for our needs. A friend and I stayed there for a weekend wedding. Parking was easy and convenient when we arrived. The balcony has such a relaxing view of the bay and Old Town Eureka. It provides plenty of opportunities for easily walking around to shops, eateries, and bars. If you're looking for a late night treat the ice cream parlor just downstairs was phenomenal. Cannot recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a convenient place to stay in the area.

Had an amazing night staying at your place, The Exquisite. Check in was easy after getting cell service. My group, of 4, loved having a working, clean hot tub with a view after getting off the LCT after 4 days. 10/10 will recommend and will definitely keep your place in mind when we plan for our next trip at shelter cove. The place was and the view were better than we expected! such a beautiful spot, clean and a easy walk down the trail to the beach. we will 100% be booking again. 100/10! Simy was super helpful giving us tips and suggestions and responded very fast!

This place is such a gem 💎 🤍 hosts are so responsive and speedy, they reached out a couple days before check in and established contact 🤍 the room is amongst a larger inn but the entire establishment you can tell is well cared for and each room is just as wonderful as the next 🤍 location is amazing - isolated but a great sense of community there is a coffee shop that has delicious drinks and food just steps away from the inn. There are also numerous small restaurants within walking distance and it is worth trying them all 🤍 updated appliances and decorations, very clean and well kept with literally no clutter 🤍 the cove is incredible, beaches are clean and the water is crystal clear, it is a bit on the colder side if you choose to play in the water, otherwise the views alone are spectacular Will be recommending this place to all my friends. Excellent weekend trip and a great place to relax and recharge Thank you so much!
