Private suite vacation rentals in Dorset

This really is an idyllic spot. While attached to the owners house, it feels private. The barn itself is very tastefully done and was a larger space than I’d anticipated. The garden area with seating is pretty and our dog enjoyed herself exploring away. It’s off the beaten track in a very picturesque spot ideal for great walking. The owners (who we briefly met & who were helpful & polite) have been upfront about the state of the road leading to the property. In reality, it’s only the hill part of this which is ‘testy’ if you don’t have an SUV/4WD (& we don’t). We decided from day 2 to park the car in Houghton - if you come out of the property, turn right, it’s a 2 minute walk to Houghton. Very close to the start of this public path in Houghton on the main road is public off road parking for a couple of cars. This worked for us but obviously it’s public parking and you can’t guarantee a space & it’s at the owners risk. All in, we had a lovely couple of days - thank you!

It was a little peace of heaven, the cottage (inside and outside) looks like it's out a story book. The cottage was spotless, enough space for a family, the kitchen was big enough and equipped to cook easy meals, we were served croissants for breakfast (lovely touch). There's a working fireplace and wood is provided. I would love to back there anytime.

Very quiet surrounds & so walkable into town. All amenities as described. Lovely & hospitable hosts. Would recommend.

Fantastic location. We crave peace and quiet and this location is superb. Ginny was very easy to deal with and met us on arrival. Superb host, fantastic location and room and beautiful breakfast laid on for us. Highly recommend and we will definitely return one day. Thank you Ginny for a wonderful stay.

This was a perfect space for a weekend getaway and we really did have everything we needed. The house is well equipped and a lovely little garden and great views. Kelly was really responsive and helpful on messages

Great location within easy walking distance of south coast path to visit Seatown and Charmouth. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Ideal for a short break. Louise very kindly provided lots of local recommendations too.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Ian and Rachel are the most gracious hosts. We felt like old friends right from the start. They called nearby pubs for us so we didn’t unnecessarily drive somewhere they were no longer serving food for the evening. The space is so big and quiet. We absolutely loved the area. It perfectly fit our taste for the quiet, rural areas (but still easily accessible to nearby areas with plenty of dining options and shops). The breakfast was wonderful and plenty to go around! We had an amazing stay and wish we could give extra stars! Practically perfect in every way!

The Bothy, Bath, what an amazing airbnb. It was everything that was described and more. A pituresque, idilic place. Not a lot on the doorstep but lovely pubs within driving distance. A fantastic bus route on the doorstep at sensible prices, takes you straight into Bath, so no worry with parking. Richard and Lizzie are amazing hosts, very accomodating and approachable. The Bothy is just charming, it has everything you need and more, there are added extras of toiletries, tea, coffee, milk, cooking oil, kitchen roll etc, the list goes on, Richard looks after the grounds( his garden) beautifully and its a relaxing area to sit out in. We cant recommend this airbnb highly enough and are hoping to go back at some time xx

Perfect. Comfortable and Morden with everything you need. I took a 5 minute drive into West Bay which was stunning and has a long costal walk with some great places to eat. The bed was really comfortable and the place was private and cosy. I would definitely book to come here again if I’m in the area and would recommend it

We echo all the reviews that have given Nel’s place 5 stars! We were on a tight schedule of visits around the country, but both agreed we’d would’ve happily stayed longer and just enjoyed the cosy accommodation and peaceful surroundings. We’re thinking of downsizing our family home and the design/layout of this delightful apartment gave us ideas for maximising a smaller space. Everything was spotless, the living room sofa and armchair were perfect for us, bed was super comfy, kitchen has everything needed and the whole place was light and airy. We had a lovely stay at Laura’a place, the bed was so comfortable and we enjoyed using the hot tub! Lovely and clean and had everything we need it, if we ever came to Bournemouth again we would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous 2 night break as in area for a wedding. Tina is a most welcoming host to arriving guests, the home has been well thought out & decorated to an extremely high standard. Everything has been well thought off so it is very well equipped. Lovely quiet area, good privacy from main house but Tina is never far if needed. Will definitely be returning & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this beautiful place. Thank you Tina xx

Really nice place to stay and recharge batteries. great interior, comfy mattresses and cosy bedding. Woods just outside the window and good size pool. Host always responded within minutes. For music fans -great sound system and large TV. Close to dog friendly beach, shops and city centre. We highly recommend this place!

Wayne and Melissa were fantastic. Very responsive, friendly, helpful, the place is fantastic, clean, tidy, all around perfect getaway place. Beautiful views and surroundings. The local pub offers great food and drink options and it’s within walking distance. Cabs to Bristol are easy to book and not overly expensive if you wanted to have a drink there. Parking space available and the car was safe and we didn’t worry about it when we were away from it. Was our first time booking an Airbnb so we hope we’re just as great to the place as it was to us! Would recommend any day.

Our stay at Angie's place was fantastic. The property is quiet, clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. A 30-minute walk to the town center. Easy check in and check out, good communication. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

What a beautiful home! We had a lovely long weekend break. Suzi was extremely welcoming and helpful. The offer to check in early was extremely appreciated. The bottle of wine and dog treats left for us was so nice to have waiting for us after a long journey. The property and location were beautiful. A really high quality feel with everything you could need. Having full access to the grounds of the property was a fantastic addition. I would recommend a stay in this lovely property with lovely hosts to anyone looking to stay in the area! Thank you for a lovely little break away!

We had a fabulous stay at Lizi's accommodation - it was absolutely perfect & Lizi was most helpful - loved the Hot Tub in the lovely private garden. We will definitely be back !!

Natalie and mom Chris were very helpful to my mom and I. We had some extra luggage that made it difficult commute on the little sidewalks. Chris helped us out with transportation, as we assumed we could walk places that weren't actually safe. Very responsive hosts. The accommodation was very spacious, bright and comfortable. There is a grocery store in walking distance too, which was excellent. We enjoyed Stonehenge very much. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Natalie and Chris!

Loved my stay here. The garden room has been planned out so well & feels spacious but cosy even though it’s a small space. I loved having French doors to open in the evening. I slept really well and enjoyed the shower. Really convenient for me as well.
