Wonderful room at The Mount Hotel. Bedroom is off the courtyard, just off the (free) car park, with access by simply walking through the car park, courtyard and straight up to room door (faces outside). Full flight of stairs up to room, which is good to bear in mind if you have mobility issues. The room itself was styled beautifully (exposed beams and natural light) with a very comfortable, very large bed (we have king size at home and this was certainly much bigger). Larger than your average hotel room. Tea, coffee and bottled water available along with shampoo, body wash, body lotion, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, and a packet with a sewing kit, cotton buds and cotton balls. Powerful and very warm shower over bath. Hairdryer attached to wall (nearly missed it, it's white!). Large TV with Freeview in a great place for bed-watching. Large wardrobe hiding opposite bathroom. Helpfully, double sockets plus double USB ports on either side of bed. As part of the hotel, we were offered breakfast in the hotel for £10 each. Hot breakfast cooked fresh, total freedom of choice with what to have or not. Also on menu - eggs benedict (bacon, salmon or ham), omelette and kippers (there is more, I just can't remember). Continental offerings of toast, juice, cereals, fruit, meats and cheeses. Lovely view over the garden while eating! We didn't eat in the restaurant, but did get offered a reservation when we checked in, and there is a good room service menu as well. Staff were all lovely and super friendly. They had some IT issues that meant we had a nice chat with the reception staff about the hotel, and Airbnb. Honestly surprised they haven't had more bookings! I will happily stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

What you get at the Borderers. A very personal and warm welcome from a great host, a lovely room with all you will need, a fantastic breakfast with all locally sourced wonderfully cooked food, and delicious home made and baked bread (thank you Blodwyn). You also get great conversation with Gail, informing you all about the local area. Gail and Kevin started off what was a great weekend. We will definitely be back.

Clean, spacious, and comfortable I stayed for two nights in a two bed apartment with a colleague. Booking in at the main hotel reception was easy and simple. It’s a 5 star service from the moment you arrive until you leave the front door A little bit more costly, but you get so much more for your money than the norm.

We would like to thank Anja and Vinny for letting us stay in their lovely home. My husband and I stayed at the studio flat for one night and were very impressed. The flat was perfect, clean and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. The view from the hot tub was beautiful and so relaxing, we felt like we were on holiday. We met Anja and Vinny in the bar , they were very friendly and welcoming. They told us about the forest drive near by , the views were amazing. They also invited us to watch a live band that was playing that night which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location was very good and about 30 minutes drive into Cardiff centre . A great place to stay , we will definitely be back !

My stay here was charming and very cozy and relaxed which was really perfect for my trip. I booked a regular room, but John ended upgrading me to a private little cottage room on the property which was absolutely lovely. It had a kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and all the amenities for coffee that I needed. They even placed milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch. The bathroom was adequete, my only real complaint about the space was the drainage system for the shower. It doesn't drain well, and water pools in the shower and I was worried it would overflow. I discovered soon however the drain isn't properly installed, and figured out that by flushing the toilet or turning on the kitchen sink, a pump is activated which them moves the water through the drainage system which then allows the water to drain in the shower. Kind of a headache, but once I turned the kitchen sink on and let it run while showering, the shower drained properly. Otherwise, it's a lovely place!

For value for money this place was great. Right on the front, and close to amenities. If you have a low car, be careful on the raised kerbs getting into some of the parking spaces. The space was included, which is great. I am always weary of mattresses, because I've had some shocking experiences, but the bed was remarkably comfortable. I would gladly stay here again.

My parents stayed here for an 80th birthday treat and had a wonderful time in Oxford. The Accommodation was clean, comfortable and easy to find and get to. They had a lovely long weekend. Thank you!
