We are positioned on the very edge of Dartmoor, with the national cycle path 50 mtrs from the gate and walking distance to the adjacent villages of Yelverton & Horrabridge. The annex is a converted stable block and offers our guests the comfort of a newly developed facility, with kitchenette, sofa area, bedroom space and luxury shower room. The Annex will provide you with all of the comforts of home, while you concentrate on enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area. We are bias, but love it!

SITUATION AND DESCRIPTION A delightfull Apartment tucked into a quiet corner in a small village on Dartmoor's western fringe. Dousland lies just to the east of the larger centre of Yelverton where there is a selection of shops including a supermarket, butchers, doctor's surgery, post office, garage, hairdressers, pharmacy, public house and estate agent! Dousland borders open moorland with Burrator reservoir within a couple of miles.

Our recently refurbished bungalow is within 5 minutes walk of Whitchurch Down and the vast expanse of Dartmoor. We are a 20-minute walk into Tavistock or 5 minutes by bus/car. There's a dog shower so should your best friend get muddy whilst on the moor, it is easy to get them clean! There is fast broadband available and smart TVs in the lounge and bedroom. There is a local pub and village shop within 5 minutes walk.

We spent 3 nights in the charming old farmhouse, it's a very beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. The 5 dogs are just lovely! We didn't meet Katherine in person, but the communication was smooth and she is very friendly. There was a folder with loads of helpful suggestions in the house, don't miss "The Who'd Have Thought It Inn" in Milton Combe! The drive there is an adventure... Over and all a fantastic stay, highly recommended!

We contacted Anthony at very short notice to book the annex on the same day. He was extremely accommodating and helped us out of a tricky situation! The annex itself is very clean and new, with a spacious bathroom. There is access to a garden and the location is well situated. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this property to anyone!

Cute cottage, accurate to the listing. Great communication for check in and info about the stay. It’s true the stairs are steep! But a perfect weekend stop. Easy to park in free village car park and 2 min walk to property. Lovely village with pub, ice cream and views gallor.

Cider Barn fulfilled our needs perfectly. The location on the edge of Dartmoor was great for walks and close enough to my father-in-law whom we visited daily. The accommodation suited us just right. It made the most of the space and had everything we needed. We would definitely return to Cider Barn for the peace and quiet and the warm welcome. On arrival we found the fridge stocked up with milk, scones, butter, jam and clotted cream. There was also a large loaf of bread of the table. A super place for a couple.

We had a great 5 days staying at Magpie Rest , to go off road cycling on Dartmoor . The path behind the property gets you to Dartmoor without going on the busy roads . The apartment is fabulous, very clean and very well presented. Great parking and very easy checkin . Hosts Nick & Claire very welcoming and helpful and let us store our bikes too . We would give it 10/10 and we will definitely be returning .
