unique pied-à-terre in surry hills

My apartment is the entire floor of a corner building in the heart of Surry Hills referred to as the French Quarter, it has 4 mt high ceilings and windows on all sides giving it a light airy feel. The open plan living space has a new architectually designed kitchen, dining, lounge and office space of gracious proportions with a Juliet balcony that overlooks a delicious community garden. The bedroom is spacious and opens onto a private roof terrace garden. The bathroom is generous and has a luxuriously deep bath. There is a separate fully equipped laundry. My apartment is decorated with an eclectic mix of designer furnishings and collected treasures to create a tranquil, luxurious sanctuary. The famous Bourke St bakery and Bill's Cafe are in the immediate vicinity as are Toko, Pizza Birra, Messina gelato and the delicious Crown St Organic Cafe. It is a short walk to Oxford St , the city ,Paddington ,Centennial Park and Central Station. You won't find a better location in Surry Hills.

Gorgeous open loft space, perfect for a group of friends, I would want to stay if you want complete privacy in each bedroom as you can hear everything from every room due to the openness but was fine for us. The whole place is so gorgeous and open, everything was really clean and the beds really comfy, location was amazing next to central station but still really quiet. It was like a New York loft that you see in the movies. The only thing I’d say it the sofa was way too small for the space and quite dirty, the cushion covers definitely need replacing, but everything else was spotless.

The interior of the apartment is just as described in the pictures, so lovely and the bed is very comfortable. The location of the building was unexpected (inside of an old shopping centre turned into student accommodation) but the entire building is only accessible by key-card so it felt very secure. As it’s on the same floor as the communal kitchen the hallways smell VERY strongly of food so if you are sensitive to smells it can be quite unexpected and leave you feeling queasy but the smell does not travel inside of the apartment

The space was nice & clean. A little smaller than it appeared on the pictures but had everything you would need and is a perfect spot if you’re planning to head into the city most days. It was a good location for us & was close enough to the stations, bus stops etc. which was ideal. There’s some good restaurants and cafes nearby but you will need to do a little research to find the best ones!

Katharina was very flexible and responsive for my late arrival in Sydney and she was a lovely host during my few days in NSW. The Redfern neighbourhood is cool and it’s easy to get anywhere around Sydney from the Airbnb. I’d highly recommend this place to anybody who loves cats and doesn’t mind the unique sleeping arrangement (make sure to read Katharina’s description before booking!)
