Exactly as described. Had a comforting older home grandma feel. All the furniture was comfortable. Loved the recliners! Loved the foos ball, fireplace thingy in the basement, deck, outdoor fire pit and the wildlife! Had some frustration with the heating system. Theres a weird mix and match heating system with no written instructions on how to control the heating. There is no air conditioning at all which made for some discomfort on days it reached the 50s. Enjoyed our stay! Home was really clean! Love that bedding and furniture was not white!

My husband and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon. This place was extremely clean and we noticed how good it smelled when we walked in! The hosts left clear instructions on what to do with everything they offered. The pool table/game room is separate from the house, which I thought was pretty cool! Very peaceful, surrounding neighbors were quiet even during memorial weekend. Perfect place to relax, there is enough to do where you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Very friendly hosts who offered a lot for a great price. Would definitely take a trip here again!! (There’s also a scavenger hunt they include if you’re looking for something fun to do outside- so cute!!)

House was exactly has depicted. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio watching the fishing boats and enjoying beautiful sunsets. The hot tub was also nice. The house has plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything we needed.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend for my dad’s memorial service at the nearby Eagles Rec Center, and I can’t imagine a more perfect place to celebrate his memory. The view of the lake is absolutely breathtaking—especially from the two massive decks and the private bedroom balcony. Sunrise coffee and sunset bonfires hit different with that kind of scenery. We even saw bald eagles! There was more than enough room for our group of 9 adults and 3 kids to spread out comfortably across all three levels. The house is beautifully renovated with a rustic modern vibe. The two large door walls in the living room gave tons of natural light and panoramic views of the lake from inside. From kayaks and paddleboards to the sandy bonfire area, to the stocked kitchen (with two fridges!), grill on the deck, the awesome game room downstairs, and on-site laundry, this place had it all. The beds were super comfy and the bathrooms were stocked with shampoos and soaps. Truly an amazing weekend.

The home was absolutely beautiful as were the views of the lake from the covered porch. My family stayed there for our summer vacation and loved our stay. Between the lake, pool, rec room games and other amenities we felt right at home and never felt like we had to leave the property. We would definitely look to stay again in the future.

This was the perfect setup for a little weekend getaway with a 6-year-old and our pup. The place was cute, the firepit was enjoyable, the area was beautiful, we felt we had enough privacy and everything we needed was included. We also used the guest passes to the community facilities to swim and enjoy the hot tub - excellent facilities there as well. We loved our weekend!

Wow... Such a beautiful spot to wind down. Came for my husband's birthday weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better spot! Sarah was super sweet and helpful. House had ALL the amenities we needed too. We COOK on trips due to food sensitivities and the kitchen was very well equipped! House was spotless and very charming. Located on a beautiful large lake. We would certainly come back in a heartbeat!

The Blue Gill Cottage was a beautiful place to spend Memorial Day weekend with our family! The location is so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the beautiful lakefront view, kayaking and fishing during the day and bonfires at night! Barbara was a wonderful host who was quick to respond with any questions we had. We highly recommend! We plan on many more visits in the future!

We had a wonderful time! The hill down to the water is pretty steep, but the kids loved it. Unfortunately, the water was high and moving pretty fast, so we were unable to bring the kids out. Overall, we had a great time!

This was our second time staying at Jennifer's place. We absolutely love it! It is perfect for our family of 4. A short walk down the driveway and you are at a park, beach, and fishing dock. The beach is great! The water is clear and no seaweed. My son and I caught small blue gills at the fishing dock, and my daughter loves the park. Also, be sure to check out The Depot (10 min walk) for ice cream and pizza! Well be back!

Absolutely Perfect Lakefront Getaway! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most incredible stay at this lakefront Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views — the sparkling water just steps from the back door created the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had every comfort we could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, and the beds were super comfortable. Waking up to sunrise over the lake each morning was truly magical. One of the highlights was the private dock, where we spent hours kayaking, fishing, and just soaking up the sun. Evenings around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and watching the stars, made for some unforgettable memories. Tina was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. You can tell she genuinely cares about their guests' experience. This is our second stay at the cottage and the first stay we rated it a 5 star and we would rate higher this time if we could . We had a baby shower for our daughter and the cottage was PERFECT .

The house was a bit smaller than expected, but it still worked out great. The paddle boards, paddle boat and kayaks were so much fun! Virginia was very responsive to the minor glitch that we did have with the electricity. Very clean. The fire pit was awesome and wood was provided (Bonus!!).

Great location where we needed to be and Eric was very accommodating by letting us in a little early, wound recommend this place and wound stay there again.

Jacob was very kind, the house was amazing for a quick girls weekend on the lake. The surrounding neighbors were extremely sweet which is always a plus. Weather wasn’t great so didn’t get to enjoy everything we wanted to, but I guess we will just have to go back!

We enjoyed our long weekend at Houghton Lake in your beautiful home. It was the perfect space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kitchen is fully stocked and the home was clean and had thoughtful touches throughout. Also, the sunset views are amazing! You can tell they take pride in hosting guests. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy the lake more.

We stayed as a family for spring break, the place was very family friendly and we felt right at home! Community is small, but perfect for what we were looking for. Would recommend to others, and would absolutely stay again!

Missy was really responsive and was great to communicate with. The check in and check out was very efficient and the house looked like the pictures as well.

Stephanie's place is exactly what you want if you want to get away and relax without a lot of stimulation. I work in GR and am often in larger cities, so this was just what me and my family needed. 45 minutes from Soaring Eagle, 3.5 miles from a very nice full grocery store where everyone is so friendly. The pictures don't do this place justice, it's way nicer in person. Right on the lake with amazing views. Will definitely be back if she'll have us.

This was our second visit, and it was just as enjoyable and welcoming as the first. We had successful communication with James when necessary and privacy when it was needed. We had requested two more dining chairs to accommodate our visiting family, and those were supplied. We were all grateful! We’ve already reserved the cottage for an October visit and can’t wait!

home was exactly what we were looking for. peaceful and calm atmosphere whit a beautiful view. house was very clean and comfortable. the hosts were very great at communicating ahead of time and responded quickly when I had a question during our stay. would absolutely recommend this home

This place was great. nice cozy great extras. Bikes, kayaks and a spacious fire pit. great Keruig awesome game room. would be awesome in the summer!!!!! worth it.
