Sometimes you'll hear us in the house, which we've compensated for with a lower price. The perfect choice for those who don't need absolute silence but are still looking for pleasant, peaceful accommodation in a natural setting by the river. You can use the outdoor pergola, the swing bench, the entire garden, and the sun loungers. During the high season, you can pick our herbs, build a fire, or borrow the grill.

It has a beautiful organic garden and a library with books in Spanish, Czech, and English. City of Wehlen Markthaus - Vacation rental - Apartment

The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

The apartment on the top floor is truly unique. It is located on the second floor and and the entire place has been restored to original building. The original roof wooden frame, exposed brickwork, original flooring, fully functional wooden stove helps you to imagine what people lived like at the beginning of last century. The main living area is facing the front of the house and therefor you will find a view on the town square, town house and the famous basalt rock “Jehla”.
