Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Carlisle

Janice was a perfect host , we were made to feel very welcome and knew she was on hand if we needed anything . First cottage is spacious and well equipped , boasting stunning views we particularly enjoyed the peace and tranquility It was perfect for getaway for a holiday with our grandaughters they enjoyed visiting the Roman museum , Hadrians wall and Kielder forest bird of prey center Will recommend to family and friends and hopefully will be back for another visit

We loved our stay in this charming and peaceful place! Amanda was always responsive and helpful but also left us to enjoy the space. It has everything you need plus more (a lovely view and amazing bathtub!) If you have long hair I’d suggest taking a hairdryer just to have a more powerful one (there is one provided which did the job), but really nothing to fault and we would stay again!

Had a great stay at Kirkandrews House with some friends on a golf trip. This is a great location for large groups doing onward treks on Hadrian's wall. Clean and comfortable, spacious with great fireplaces and beautiful surroundings!

Lovely olde world cottage,superb views , walking from the doorstep, Lovely and warm and the log burner is brilliant, lovely bathroom and great walk in shower

House was exactly as described and pristine. The kids loved their own space in the “loft”. Would be slightly weary of stairs with younger kids (especially if they walk at night). Kitchen had everything you need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. The house was super cozy and the beds very comfortable. Fantastic location - very remote if that’s what you’re looking for. Perfect location for climbing Scafell although we didn’t attempt due to the weather. Fair drive on tricky fell roads if you’re looking to spend lots of time in Windermere / Ambleside / Keswick. But perfectly doable. Great pub down the road with play area and football for the kids. Would love to return / have stayed longer to walk around the area close to the house.

The Lodge was exactly as described with everything I needed. It was located in a lovely and peaceful part of the country, which was within their grounds. The lodge was closer to their home than I thought but this wasn't an issue for me at all. The enclosed garden space was a bonus and my dog loved it! The cake was a lovely touch too. The local town wasn't too far away and pubs were dog friendly which was great. A lovely relaxing break.

Elizabeth was an amazing host! Her home is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views that took our breath away. There were so many thoughtful touches—like the scones, jam, and cream waiting for us on arrival—which made us feel instantly welcomed after our journey. Everything was comfortable, clean, and inviting. We had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to return!

we had an amazing stay. the hosts were brilliant with directions, local things to do. we were staying for a wedding close by. They offered us a lift to save a taxi fare ( not needed but very much appreciated) pointed us in the direction of the river so my wife could go for a wild swim. the dogs are great and came with us whilst we were outside and super friendly. the accommodation was perfect for our needs and we will definitely return for another peaceful stay in Northumberland. we left super early to go collect the kids after the wedding and we were given bacon rolls in lovely cheese bread bun. so nice and got us through the long drive. 10/10 stay thank you so much for hosting us. Jeanette's place was the perfect getaway. Beds were very comfortable and warm. The views from all the windows and sunroom were just stunning, we were happy to lounge around when it rained as the scenery was so delightful, we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. Great bathrooms with heated towel rails with good towels. We just loved our stay here.

Robin is an exceptional host with a just as exceptional home. We ended up arriving later than anticipated at the dead of night, and also had some car issues (which he ended up rescuing us!) and he went beyond what a host would ever be expected to do. As well as providing helpful pointers on where to go & what to do. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, exactly like the photos. The log burner really makes the space for when you get home late and just want to relax and unwind. I can’t recommend this place enough, for the actual space and for what you get with Robin as a host who clearly cares deeply about his BnB and making guests feel welcome. Thanks and looking forward to coming again soon!!

This is a lovely ground floor flat in an excellent location, it is very well equipped with a lot of nice features and has everything you could possibly need. It is also really nice to arrive to find coffee, tea, milk, etc when you get off the bus after travelling. There is even a little garden area to sit in or hang things out to dry, which is a big plus. Would recommend. It is fantastic for one person or couple.

Church Street was a lovely place to stay, good layout, comfy furniture, plenty of room and all very clean. Location was good for us, 10 mins walk into the centre of Keswick or the lake. A great base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

The apartment was clean, easy to access and in the middle of Ambleside, close to everything the town has to offer. Parking was close by. We had one question/request to which George responded in the most positive manner on the same day. Beautiful town. Good People. Good spot. Good value.

It was a lovely flat in a quiet location. Lots of walks direct from the door. Close to the centre and shops. Instructions for parking and access first class with photos.

Sharon's place is fab really good location with easy parking. if you want to explore Wasdale then it is perfect location. The flat is well set up, warm and with fab views of the fells. The lake beaches are 5 mins away by car or a bit longer by foot. The wildlife is super loads of birds. Wasdale head is a bit further and easy access to Scarfell, Great Gable and styhead pass over to Borrowdale. There is a small shop with essentials and some walking gear at Wasdale head, plus a pub with good local Ale. I can also recommend the Alpaca trekking at Wasdale Alpacas. We have loads still to explore in Wasdale so will hopefully return.
