Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Bowness-on-Windermere

Superb detached house, in quiet location with a cosy feel despite being very large. Amazing views and spacious gardens ideal for adventurous kids. We had a lovely time here with extended family and the hosts have thoughtfully included everything needed for an easy home from home feel. Would highly recommended staying here.

Had a great time staying here with some friends for a long weekend in the Lake District. Really unique house, and easy access to great hikes.

A brilliant stay - very attentive hosts and a lovely, clean home away from home. It made the perfect base for us to explore the Lake District, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be visiting again!

A cosy cottage 5 minutes walk out of Ambleside. Ideally located to be near to the town but quiet at night. We found the interior to be exactly as listed. Overall, it was a great base for exploring the area.

Stayed here as I was running an Ultra (the Lap) in the area with a start point not far away so this was an ideal location. What made this stay amazing was the property itself and Louise’s communication which was spot on, very friendly and welcoming. I felt at home when I didn’t need any distractions other than the event I was focussed on and this was 100% possible here. I even met some of the neighbours who were really lovely and helpful too. 100% recommend staying here ❤️

We loved the location of the property, perfect for popping out to the town with our baby and stroller and popping back quickly if needed. Close by to everything you’d need. The property itself was very spacious especially the living room area, kitchen was stocked great and the beds and couches were very comfy. Shower was great as well and the parking was a life saver. Will definitely be coming back to stay here.

Nice home, clean, good entertainment

Jeanette's place was the perfect getaway. Beds were very comfortable and warm. The views from all the windows and sunroom were just stunning, we were happy to lounge around when it rained as the scenery was so delightful, we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. Great bathrooms with heated towel rails with good towels. We just loved our stay here.

This is a lovely ground floor flat in an excellent location, it is very well equipped with a lot of nice features and has everything you could possibly need. It is also really nice to arrive to find coffee, tea, milk, etc when you get off the bus after travelling. There is even a little garden area to sit in or hang things out to dry, which is a big plus. Would recommend. It is fantastic for one person or couple.

Robin is an exceptional host with a just as exceptional home. We ended up arriving later than anticipated at the dead of night, and also had some car issues (which he ended up rescuing us!) and he went beyond what a host would ever be expected to do. As well as providing helpful pointers on where to go & what to do. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, exactly like the photos. The log burner really makes the space for when you get home late and just want to relax and unwind. I can’t recommend this place enough, for the actual space and for what you get with Robin as a host who clearly cares deeply about his BnB and making guests feel welcome. Thanks and looking forward to coming again soon!!

Enjoyed our stay at Kate's place for a second visit. Has all the amenities we needed and we can feel very relaxed there. Kate was very helpful with our booking. She dealt very promptly with one minor maintenance issue. She's a thoughtful host and there were fresh flowers, milk and biscuits to welcome us. We enjoyed chatting to Kate. First of all, I am very grateful to harword for helping me deliver the things we left in the bedroom in time, so that we didn't leave any regrets before leaving UK . Harword's house is our most most love house, and the environment is definitely many times better than the photos. There are two rooms, a big bed room, a double bed, a big kitchen and living room. The kitchen is well equipped and very clean. We bought food and cooked by ourselves and had a very pleasant two days. Malt Kiln is about 40 minutes to an hour away from Wendell Lake. Because the village path is very narrow, we drive slowly, but the scenery is beautiful and the cattle and sheep flock together, which is a visual enjoyment. highly recommended here. Janet's cake is very delicious, thank you also.

This home is delightful for anyone who needs a short break in beautiful peaceful country side. It has everything required, however a car is helpful. The shop at the petrol station opposite the property opens all the time for essentials. The home was spotless and designed to give you as much space as possible.

Church Street was a lovely place to stay, good layout, comfy furniture, plenty of room and all very clean. Location was good for us, 10 mins walk into the centre of Keswick or the lake. A great base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

My wife and I stayed here for the Keswick Mountain Festival which was close to the apartment. Booths supermarket is just over the road and it is only a 5 minute walk to the Moot Hall in the centre of Keswick. Very peaceful with the added bonus of dedicated parking place.

Just back from three nights and we had such a wonderful time. The property is in a great location with it being walking distance to bowness but also secluded. Kitchen amenities all great, excellent spec bathroom and very clean all round. We had a couple of questions which were answered very quickly. Highly recommend and we will be booking again.

Such a lovely place, had a nice girly weekend for my hen do with my bridesmaids and maid of honour and the hosts were really sweet. They were happy to co-ordinate with my maid of honour so the whole thing was a really nice surprise and it was overall really private and peaceful with such stunning views. Would highly recommend and think we will definitely be booking again 🤍

With a 15 minute drive into Lancaster and the Forest of Bowland on the doorstep. The Barn was set in an ideal location. It was what my wife and I needed. Some quiet time and fabulous walks in the countryside.

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Really brilliant place. Lovely house and great amenities. Really well stocked (unusual to have such good wine glasses!!). Well def use again!

We've stayed at other places in the past, but none have given off the positive vibes we experienced here. The care and attention given to the extensive grounds is truly exemplary, right down to the precise way the grass was mown. I never seem to get a good night's sleep except in my own bed, yet here I slept like a lamb for three nights straight! Great beds and luxurious bedding. Finally, the cherry on the cake has to be the privacy and tranquility.
