Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Borgarbyggð

This place was great. Extremely private and was a great base for exploring the peninsula. I had just a few questions and the responses came right away. I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We had a 2-night stay and really appreciated there wasn’t a longer minimum, like with most others on Airbnb. The small, individual bedrooms were a really nice feature so our teenagers could have their privacy. The only downside was that the kitchen was pretty sparsely equipped—only the most basic utensils, but we were able to make do. The hot tub was lovely and the washer in the shed area was appreciated at the end our 10-day Iceland vacation.

A great place to stay to see many points of interest outside Reykjavik and northern spots. Extremely clean and very modern. A quiet area as well.

Porbjorg’s place is our last stop in our two week adventure in the ring road and it’s been a dream to stay here. The house is big enough for our family of five, private, quiet and peaceful. It’s located in a farm with horses around and the most adorable farm dogs, with well equipped modern kitchen, comfy beds and beddings, and an inviting hot tub to soak in at the end of a long day exploring. We’re so sad to leave but we’ll have many great memories of this wonderful charming place.

Una estancia muy agradable, todo estaba limpio y ordenado. El sitio es muy bonito y la atención es maravillosa. Al llegar tenian el jacuzzi preparado, esto lo remarco ya que hay sitios que te lo tienes que preparar tu mismo y según la hora que llegas se hace pesado. Muchas gracias lo recomiendo y volvería sin dudarlo.

The hottub is fantastic. The greenhouse is awesome and really worth a visit.

A beautiful house with an amazing view of Hvalfjörður. The home was clean, uncluttered, bright, and gave us plenty of room to spread out as a family of five. We were close enough to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to do the loop and still make it home in one day. And in the other direction, we were close enough to Reykjavik to do a city day easily. There's a very cool church right down the road which is dedicated to the same guy who the famous big Reykjavik church is named after. And a bit further, there are a couple of abandoned whaling ships which you can walk down to. The washing machine and dryer were very nice to have, as were the two decently sized bathrooms with unending hot water (which is rare in Europe). The hot tub is great too. It's the kind that you turn on when you're ready to use it and it fills up with geothermal hot water. We loved sitting in that thing with some Apelsins just looking out at the water and listening to the birds. Iceland!

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

We enjoyed our brief stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is beautiful, well stocked with lots of extras like olive oil, cooking spices and condiments. The large deck was perfect for star gazing and the hot tub was an excellent place to relax at the end of a long day hiking. We loved it.

We had a great week staying at Þórður’s place. It was very spacious and exactly like in the photos. The hot tub was also a really nice touch after long days of hiking. Highly recommend!

Logement parfait! Au calme, proche de la route 1. Cosy et bien équipé. Hot tube et sauna pour se détendre. Emplacement propice aux aurores boréales. Brynja est très à l’écoute et réactive. Merci encore pour ce moment de bonheur.

Really comfortable cabin in an exceptional location with fantastic view. If you enjoy Scandinavian style comfort and solitude in a scenic lakeside setting then this is the place. Everything was as described, very easy to find with the precise satnav directions from the hosts. The sauna, hot tub and decking chairs overlooking the lake are a real plus. Ivar was a responsive host. Nearest town for shops and restaurants is approx 25 min drive. Be aware that the wooden steps leading down to the cabin from the parking place are quite steep and with no handrail.

This was a beautiful cottage and was very clean and tidy. Wonderful location with many walking trails to explore within the Húsafell area, and some neat hikes in the surrounding areas that were a short drive away. The host was very responsive with the few questions we had and provided detailed instructions on how to get to the cottage. Would 100% recommend!

Vi är en familj på fem personer som bodde i stugan under en vecka i juni. Stugan hade allt vi behövde och var väldigt mysig. Läget var också bra, nära till det mesta vi gjorde under veckan. Ett litet extra plus för brädspelen, som barnen verkligen uppskattade! Förutom lite strul med badtunnan i början av veckan, som värden snabbt och hjälpsamt tog hand om, har allt varit toppen. Vi kan varmt rekommendera denna stuga till andra!
