Amazing host, amazing place!

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

Our staying in Iceland was incredible and all the indications from þórður were clear. He was very fast to respond and always kind!

Wonderful stay at Brynja’s place!! Great location, very quiet, and private. The sauna and hot tub were great as well… Got very lucky and was able to see the aurora clearly too!!

This was a beautiful cottage and was very clean and tidy. Wonderful location with many walking trails to explore within the Húsafell area, and some neat hikes in the surrounding areas that were a short drive away. The host was very responsive with the few questions we had and provided detailed instructions on how to get to the cottage. Would 100% recommend!

Jon was a very responsive host. We had a few questions and he immediately replied to all of them. The place was perfect for us. Spent the nights in the hot tub seeing the northern lights. Great central location to a lot of things.

This was a great place to stay as a base camp for exploring western Iceland. Very clean and welcoming. The view is great, the hot tub is perfect after a long day walking around, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and grill had everything we needed in order to cook meals. Jon and Kristin were great and made us feel right at home. They even had chocolate bars for us when we got to the house! A couple minor things to know if you're considering this house. 1. There are 3 bedrooms, but the third bedroom has a sofa bed, not a regular bed. This room is also the TV room, so if you were planning on using the TV a lot, you would need to put the bed back in to a sofa and vice versa each day. This wasn't a big deal for us since we weren't planning to use the TV. 2. One of the reasons I really liked this house is that it had a fireplace. This is true, but it's meant for burning DuraFlame logs, not actual firewood. I didn't realize that "real" fires aren't really a thing in Iceland.

This is an amazing cabin for a nice and peaceful break. The view and surroundings are incredible! We went at the end of October and it got to -4C some nights, but the cabin is nice and cosy and warm - and the hot tub perfect for whatever time of the day you want to use it. Because there's no light pollution, the clear sky's were awesome, sat there looking for shooting stars! On our last night we experienced some spectacular Northern Lights - incredible!! The nearest town - Borgarnes - is a 25 minute drive away and has an awesome bakery. Also supermarkets and a local swimming pool. There is a very steep drive up to the cabin which we couldn't drive up in our Cat B hired car, so parked at the bottom and walked up (helped us work off the cakes we had from the bakery though!). Would highly recommend for a peaceful stay within pure countryside.

The house is situated at an altitude with beautiful views and is surrounded by land with relatively many birds. Many places on Snaefellsnes are easy to reach. The last kilometers to the house are unpaved, but a 4x4 is not necessary. There is a good bed that just fits in the bedroom, the equipment is more than sufficient. The wifi details on the Airbnb site were not accurate but were in the guest font, so that was quickly resolved.

We enjoyed our brief stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is beautiful, well stocked with lots of extras like olive oil, cooking spices and condiments. The large deck was perfect for star gazing and the hot tub was an excellent place to relax at the end of a long day hiking. We loved it.

Sif & Robert are lovely thoughtful hosts. And their cabin is such a cozy perfect little escape in the beautiful Icelandic nature. Highly recommend if you're looking for peaceful break surrounded by epic nature with kind hosts.

Beautiful location - outstanding view of the mountains. Quite close to Borganes. We used it as a base to explore the edge of the West Fjords and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Amazing, secluded spot between the ocean and mountains. The cabin had everything we needed and was very homely. Host was lovely. I appreciate the fact Katrin acknowledged me when I informed her of arrival and departure which hasn't always been the case in the last couple of weeks of multiple air bnbs. Highly recommend.

The cabin sits in it's own large plot of wooded ground, it is several kilometers from the main route one, which means that it is very peaceful and private. The view from the main cabin windows is beautiful, to sit and watch the ever changing light over the snow covered mountains is truly lovely. The cabin was always warm and cozy with a particularly warm shower room. It is equipped with everything you could need, the stove may be small but you do also have a microwave, a toasted sandwich maker and a waffle maker. It is obvious that this is not just a business but a well loved cabin, as such it has loads of extra bits and pieces that make a stay more interesting and enjoyable. The beds are very comfortable with deep mattresses and mattress toppers. There is a plentyfull supply of towels and toiletries. Vignir has produced a guide of nearby attractions which we found particularly helpful. Vignir responded immediately to any questions that I had. We can highly recommend Cozy Cabin.

Overall we had a wonderful stay here. The views are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to see northern lights! Only negative was trying to find the cabin was difficult BUT Borj was super responsive and friendly. We only stayed one night but would stay again.

This place was a dream. Having stayed at dozens of AirBnBs in Iceland, this is in our top! It was tranquil and Elisabet and Rosa were communicative and it’s clear they take pride in their home. It was beautiful, and there were amenities that made traveling with an infant smooth and comfortable for us. There were so many thoughtful touches and it was squeaky clean. We saw the aurora two out of three nights which was nothing short of magical. It was the ideal stay in a beautiful place!

Homely cabin set in beautiful surroundings. Plenty of room and extremely well equipped. Helpful, generous host who always responded quickly. Excellent for visiting the west of Iceland with the useful town of Borgarnes with supermarket and bakery close by.

Had a minor issue with our room when we arrived and the owner went out of his way to fix the issue himself. Gylfi is a top of the line businessman! The "hot box" (i guess you call it) after getting out of the hot tub and watching the stars in the box was incredibly relaxing. The view while eating breakfast in the lobby was superb. The lobby building itself was home-y. I wish we had stayed more than one night. Cant wait to stay here again someday in the future
