This was a lovely home in beautiful surroundings! It worked perfectly for our group of 7 adults.

A great place to stay to see many points of interest outside Reykjavik and northern spots. Extremely clean and very modern. A quiet area as well.

The house was beautiful, actually described, and with extra bonuses like the hot tub and easy access to the lake with amazing views (also from the house and deck). There were some quirks -- there were a couple of boards missing from the ceiling when we walked in, one of the bedroom doors is very difficult to open due to risen floor boards, and there was a constant small water flow in the master bath. Nonetheless, this house was an excellent place to stay, and in a perfect central location for visiting Snefellsnes, Langjokull/Reykholt region, or the golden circle. Borganes nearby (20 minutes) is a quaint small town with a museum (the settlement museum) worth visiting. Or just enjoy the the house and peaceful surrounds! We did have problems not getting check-in information, which was a problem. The gate to get cars in and out is annoying, especially for checking in or out when there is no opener and so you need to text the hosts (which cost us 20 minutes ).

A great place and location to travel/explore while still having the comforts of home! As a family trip with 6 adults it was nice to have both shared and private space in the house. With the well-equipped kitchen and 2 good grocery stores in the nearby Borgenes we enjoyed preparing meals in the evening and having breakfast before heading out for our day trips. The washing machine and dryer allowed us to go home with clean clothes. The hot tub was nice to relax in after a long day of hiking. The beds were comfortable and the blackout shades in the summer were greatly appreciated. We even had a chance to pet friendly horses that would greet us near the turn-off for the house. Kari was an attentive and responsive host! Highly recommended for family and close friend trips.

This was the perfect stay for our big group! We even got to see the lights really well a few nights out of the city lights. Great location and beautiful! 10/10 recommend.

We stayed at the cottage for Easter weekend and were extremely happy with everything. The cottage was great in every way — spacious and tidy, with tons of space for the whole family. It was especially nice to have the guesthouse. The hot tub was wonderful – perfect after a day of hiking and to enjoy quiet evenings under the stars. Everything was there that we needed, and the communication with the owner was very good and easy. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this cottage!

Our stay at Heiðrún’s home was breathtaking. The hostsfully prepared the home for any needs that a family or group might have and yet also kept it free of clutter to maximize the open design. Every detail of the home is well thought out. The hosts are kind and quick to respond. Our stay felt like being home, a welcome feeling while traveling. . Sitting in the hot tub with stunning of the landscape, a hot outdoor shower and beauty that will live with us forever. We are so happy and grateful for the opportunity to stay at this home. If in Iceland again this is a home we would return. The drive to Reykjavik is a beautiful 45 minutes. The home is an outstanding base to adventure Western Iceland, including the Snæfellsnes peninsula. You can walk to Glanni Waterfalll. The thermal spa and restaurant at Krauma is a short drive. Also short drive to Barnafoss and hiking at Husafell or go caving at Vidgemir and Surshellir. Visit Eiríksstaðir. Save $ and swim at the municipal pool at Borgarnes.

Amazing place, very quiet and a really friendly hoast. Nice to come again :-).

House was wonderful and very cozy. Only problem was with google maps and apple maps - it told us to turn off one or two roads early. But the house numbers are marked on a sign post for each division and easy to figure out.

Fabulous place with breath-taking views of the mountains, short stroll to a peaceful lake, soothing mineral water in the hot tub, and a well-stocked kitchen. We loved our time here and wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect for a 2 or 3 family visit, with toys and books for kids. A great home base for exploring Iceland. Ragnhildur and Astridur are gracious hosts.

Amazing house, views and friendly responsive hosts. Clear instructions and responsive to questions. We saw auroras on 4 nights of our stay. Perfect location for being away from the city lights and being able to star gaze and enjoy the surroundings. Would stay here again

We loved our "Cozy Cabin!" It was exactly as advertised, and Dora made our stay very comfortable. She is extremely responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. The cabin was well furnished and nicely equipped, and we had everything we needed. We had a fabulous time; even saw the Northern Lights from the deck, too, which was certainly a "bucket list" item! We were very happy with everything. Thank you, Dora, for being such a great host.
