Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Athens County

My family — seven of us and a dog — loved our three day stay for a family wedding. Great and communicative hosts and the Cottage was precisely as advertised — clean, well-equipped, and so peaceful.

My brothers and I were in the area over Memorial weekend on our motorcycles to ride The Windy Nine motorcycle roads. This location was perfect, just outside of Athens but not too far. Quaint little cabin in the woods the also offered cover for our bikes to keep them from collecting morning dew. This small cottage offered everything we needed but bot too fancy. The only caution is finding the driveway on the initial arrival can be a bit tricky especially on motorcycles as the winding road that leads to the cottage is not too U-turn friendly for motorcycles. Overall, awesome place and we will be back!

We stayed here for our son's graduation from OU. The house was clean and well stocked, including spring water and coffee/creamers available. It was a quick ride back to campus. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience.

My partner and I had a lovely time—we really enjoyed the space! It was so nice to get away and just focus on enjoying each other’s company. The whole experience was wonderful, and I especially loved the cozy cabin feel. Chad was incredibly helpful and very friendly, which made everything even better. Just a couple of small things to note: the toilet is a compost toilet, which took a minute to get used to—not a bad thing at all, just different. Also, the freezer was stocked with frozen meat, and we had brought our own frozen meals without checking first. It didn’t leave us much room to put stuff in there but It wasn’t a big deal though—we just ate ours frozen stuff first. All in all, I’ll 100% be back and absolutely recommend this place!

We enjoyed or stay! A very comfortable home and peaceful respite from our busy graduation weekend at OU. The home is very well equipped and comfortable. I hope to have the chance to stay again!

Sallie and Glenn's space was welcoming, a quick drive into town, and beautifully decorated. They were very proactive and thoughtful reaching out, we would absolutely stay in their beautiful home again.

Great stay at the Bobcat Bungalow. Perfect location for visiting Ohio University. House was very well organized. Loved the little extras like having cream in the refrigerator and yoga mats and games in the closet. Kay has really thought of every detail.

We were just passing through on a long drive but it was a great place to stay! The goats across the street were really cute too

We had a wonderful time at Gretchen’s place in Athens! It was private, comfortable, and beautiful inside and outside. We loved the natural light and the amazing wraparound porch. Highly recommend!

Cindy has an amazing place to stay that was easily accessible for my family. Although we had a-lot of running around for my son’s graduation, it was nice to have a place to go back to rest up. Sorry we didn’t have time to meet face to face, but Cindy answered any emails promptly. We definitely recommend Cindy’s place to our friends that have children at Ohio U and want a close place to stay in the future. If we ever plan a trip back, we w look yo book again. It's a bargain, 30 minutes to Hocking Hills, 20 mins to Athens. Only $39 a night for your own fully furnished studio . Includes kitchen and full size washer/dryer and flat screen tv. You can even build a fire out back in the fire pit if you wish. The hosts were very responsive to my needs. For comparison pricing most camping spots in Hocking Hills go for $30-40 a night. I will definitely be going back. BTW great hiking in Hocking Hills during the day and great restaurants in Athens in the nightime

Absolutely wonderful getaway, quiet and peaceful but not so far from a variety of entertainment options. Great place!

Hosts Brenda and Deborah were extremely warm, welcoming, and flexible! We were on a short trip for a graduation at Ohio University, about 12 minutes away. Due to delayed flights and 1.5 hour drive from Columbus Airport, we didn't arrive until 10:30pm, and Deb was waiting on the porch to greet us and get us settled. Very much appreciated! Communication was great, including directions (by phone) re: the country roads in the dark. The space is large, as described and seen in photos, sort of a "basement apartment" in a gorgeous area, very peaceful. The place and hosts are down-to-earth, as we had hoped, making our stay lovely and enjoyable. 😊 Thank you!

I really like the cabin.everything was amazing

We had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. The cabin was spotless and very welcoming and comfortable. Sarah responded almost immediately when we had questions. She was also good about informing us of things that might affect our stay. Her husband came immediately when we had a question about the hot tub. We could not have asked for better hosts! We have already booked the cabin again for this fall.

Exactly as described. Enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeders. Extremely peaceful. Would definitely return.

Graces place, Camp Forever, was an outstanding experience. In this gorgeous, secluded setting peace just seeps into your very pores. This fine lodging has everything and more than anyone or any family might need. Reserving Camp Forever was smoothy, even changing the reservation date when my guests' confronted a date conflict was easy. Grace was responsive, very responsive, timely, friendly competent at every stage--communicating with here was a pleasure. And the lodgings themselves reflected the meticulous care invested in Camp Forever and the thoughtful preparation for the guests. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Carol's place. It is a gorgeous, peaceful setting. The deck is spacious and nicely appointed with a table, chairs, shade umbrella and a grill. Inside was roomy, so we had enough area to spread out and not be on top of each other. The kitchen has everything you could need. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of towels. The location is about 10 minutes into Athens, which is a pretty drive but make sure you're alert for a few winds in the road, especially after dark. Carol was really kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

This is my second stay and I'm glad I went back. Jennifer and Michelle have created a very comfortable and peaceful space. There's an amazing private trail system through some beautifully preserved forest with incredible views.

Gary’s home is beautiful! We enjoyed our stay very much. The outdoor spaces are peaceful and gorgeous. Perfect spot for my wheelchair bound father to stay :) Great accessibility. Gary was very responsive and helpful!
