Cabin vacation rentals in Athens County

We were at David’s Airbnb for a bachelorette party so we could go to the hiking trails at Hocking Hills. Was a great place to stay at and had a great hot tub and bonfire for us to use. We didn’t get to use the bonfire because it rained but it was nice to know we were able to use it and there were some places as you drive in to get wood if needed. Hot tub was super nice and a great experience to be able to be in and enjoy the great outdoors. Thanks again!

Overall I had a great experience staying here. Check in process was simple and easy with a pin pad lock. The cabin itself was very clean on the inside. Unfortunately having a place out in the woods like that there are lots of bugs (ants) that tend to attract which we did have a lot of. However that would be any place like this. That is the on negative thing I can think of. The hot tub was definitely everyone’s favorite part and we enjoyed getting in it in the early mornings and late evenings. It’s very private and so peaceful!. The cabin is more than supplied with anything you might need. It has more stuff than any other place that I’ve stayed at. You feel right at home not having to worry about having stuff. I would definitely come back again this summer when we have some better weather!

We stayed here for our annual Mother/Daughter trip. The cabin was spectacular! It had everything we needed and more. The hosts were so responsive and nice. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for someplace to relax and enjoy nature.

We had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. The cabin was spotless and very welcoming and comfortable. Sarah responded almost immediately when we had questions. She was also good about informing us of things that might affect our stay. Her husband came immediately when we had a question about the hot tub. We could not have asked for better hosts! We have already booked the cabin again for this fall.

Great spot. Had a lovely time. Had everything we needed. I had concerns about late Lyfts to get to Athens and back. As of June 2025, we didn't have a problem finding a Lyft from Court St back to the BnB at 1am (but we did reserve ahead of time).

Whitney and co. were very good hosts. All the pictures definitely gave a very accurate feel to the home. It was secluded and had some very enjoyable amenities such as the hot tub, kitchen supplies & seasoning, and towels & toiletries. The location was great. It was very private and serene. We did not have any cell phone service in that area, but there was wifi included so we didn’t have any issues with being able to access anything on our phones :). The place was very clean, and you can tell there was definitely a lot of effort put into making the guests feel comfortable and feel like they are in a homey space/environment. There is a little drive to get to places, and without service I’d recommend saving routes or starting your gps before you leave the home to go anywhere just to be safe. Overall I would highly recommend this place to stay for anyone. It was very enjoyable. I would absolutely come back and stay if in the area again :)

David's cabin was absolutely perfect for me and my wife. very private, had our own hot tub, and wooded backyard. About 40 minutes to Hocking Hills but the drive is beautiful and scenic. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends!

Very beautiful place to stay and very clean! Todd and April went above and beyond for our special stay. Awesome attention to detail. Just outside of hocking hills so you get some exclusion from the state park but also close enough to drive to everything! About 20-30 minutes to drive to the caves and trails. And about 15 minutes to go out to eat somewhere, however we didn’t mind since we cooked mostly at the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils that you may need. A very peaceful and relaxing space to hide out. I will definitely be visiting again!

It was perfect for our trip. Very close to the lake. Exactly as described and the host was very nice.

You couldn't ask for more when staying at the Basecamp. The cabin has all the amenities you can think and then some. We were really blown away with the cleanliness and attention to detail as it truly felt like we were staying at a cabin built with hospitality in mind. The Basecamp features an attached 2 bathroom building with separate showers. The cabin itself provides many different clean cooking utensils, a private restroom (no shower), dishwasher, refrigerator, board games, and an intuitive guide book on the cabin and local recommendations. If you're a mountain biker and are looking to ride Bailey's trail system, look no further. It is situated in such a place that you can either bike up the road to the top to ride down the trails, cut in down the road at Wild Turkey, or bike down to the bottom and climb back up the trails. Should we come back down to Bailey's, the Basecamp is the only choice to stay.

We enjoyed our stay so much, very relaxing and quiet. Everything was just as described. We will for sure be back. Be sure to eat the ribs at the cafe inside Rocky Boots, it was great!

We were blown away by Lisa‘s cabin. Very beautiful outside, well taken care of property, beautiful landscape to walk around and explore, the hammocks were a very serene addition to the woods. We have been to pet friendly cabins before and right when we walked in, we noticed that the place smelled very clean, which sometimes is not the case! She had gone through the trouble of baking us cookies upon our arrival which tasted amazing and was a very thoughtful touch. All of the amenities and appliances worked well with no trouble at all, good shower, good running water, good toilets, and a very fun entertainment center down in the basement. This was the perfect homebase for our nice weekend getaway, we would definitely recommend staying here!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay we felt right at home here. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. House was in great condition. Alec answered every question we had within minutes.

Such a beautiful little get away! Maybe a better sign at the road? And instructions on how to navigate the 3 remotes for the TV, wi-fi password would be nice also. But, we had a great stay!

It was my girlfriends birthday she didn’t know what she wanted to do so I book this tiny cabin last minute and when I tell you it’s the most beautiful off grid place very private and quiet I will be booking here again

Looks even better in person than in the photos! Had everything we needed and was away from the more touristy groups of cabins, but was less than 30 minutes from everything we wanted to do! The space is very clean and well kept.

My family had the best time this past weekend. It was the first time taking the kids camping so this more primitive cabin was just perfect. Beautiful spot, close to Athens for yummy restaurants, and Keith was super friendly and responsive when we needed more water, wood, etc. We definitely plan to come back!

Brand new cabin and very well constructed. Very clean and comfortable. Sometimes cabins can be furnished with 'inexpensive' (read: cheap) appliances, furniture, beds, etc. But this was not the case with this cabin. Very clean and comfortable. Stayed at the cabin during Ohio University's Dad's Weekend. Would repeat.

Stephen was an amazing host. Towels were laid out when we arrived. Located a short drive from Logan. We had a ball at this beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods. The hot tub overlooking the forest, the awesome fire pit and sauna. Homey, spacious, cute cabin. 10/10 stay, we will be back! Perfect for couples or couples with kids! We didn’t bring a pet, but pet friendly! Really incredible space. Thanks Stephen! Looking forward to booking again in the future!

Fantastic property in the most beautiful location. Even though the weather did not cooperate we really enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the rolling hills and bucolic scenery. Celeste really enhanced the experience with very good information on the location with things to do and places to visit. We celebrated our sons graduation during the weekend and the stay just enhanced the whole experience. Would happily book the same property for weekends in the future and would love to get use of the fire pit . I can really recommend this property

My boyfriend & myself had the most relaxing weekend getaway here. The views are amazing, this truly is a hidden gem. To fishing the pond, enjoying the view off the back porch, or sitting in the hot tub with an open sky of stars. This was so peaceful for us. We enjoyed a couple stops over to Athens for some coffee (highly recommend court street coffee) & also did some fishing in our boat at strouds run (highly recommend also) Mark was an excellent host & we can’t wait to book again!! :)
