The cottage has been renovated in a modern contemporary style. The main bedrooms have furniture from Lombok.The furniture is complimented by bed linen from the white company giving an overall luxurious and classy feel to the accommodation. The suspended fire in the lounge is a focal point and is enjoyed from the comfort of the large L shaped pink couch.Sitting under the stars in the hot tub really gives you the feeling that you are on holiday and is a restorative treat after being at the beach.

The perfect location for exploring the surrounding area. We include a complimentary parking pass for the stunning Putsborough beach, for your entire stay. (Must be returned)

You can see the surf at Saunton and all the best North Devon beaches are nearby. Fenced dog friendly garden with a sunny dining terrace, lawn and a mud room with a shower, for dogs, bikes or wet suits. Our lovely village of West Down is less than a mile away, with The Crown pub, community shop and park. Check in or out times can be flexible, please ask.

Underfloor heating and a cosy wood-burner. There is an EV charger at the barn. Beaches and moorland all within a half hour drive. Being within a working farm, sadly we cannot allow dogs.

This is a perfect escape for families, couples and friends. The cottage comes with a free car pass for Putsborough Sands.

Skirr Cottage was the home of the acclaimed writer Henry Williamson who is best known as the author of Tarka the Otter. With its pretty whitewashed exterior the cottage is set next to a trickling stream next to the historic Norman church of St. George in the heart of Georgeham village. Putsborough surfing beach is a 25 minute walk via fields or via a lane. or 5 minute drive. The Kings Arms and 17th century Rock Inn serving gastro pub food are 1 minute and a 4 minute walk away.

The accommodation comprises the cottage with 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom, and a separate annexe which is a cosy self contained double bedroom with en-suite WC/shower.

We designed Bay Tree Cottage to be a home away from home, with plenty of special touches that make it a place you’ll remember. Set in the private, landscaped grounds of Willingcott Valley, summer guests (June to Sept) will also have access to the heated outdoor swimming pool.
