Kid-friendly vacation rentals in West Yorkshire

We very much enjoyed our stay at this quaint little cottage. It was very clean, well equipped and true to the photos on Airbnb. Ben was very prompt when we had a small issue and very quickly sorted the issue. Lots of lovely walks nearby and easy access to the Peak District. We found a lovely restaurant a 15 minute walk away called Finlay’s - cannot recommend enough. Convenience store literally 2 mins away and Holmfirth a short drive or within walking distance.

The cottage was perfect - it felt like a home from home as soon as we walked through the door. The hosts were friendly & approachable, ensuring that we had lots of useful local info, while not being in the least bit intrusive. Great location for accessing the Yorkshire Dales AND for being able to walk into town! Ours was a last minute booking due to a change in our plans; and it was such a lovely experience. We definitely recommend staying here.

I live locally and brought my mum and little furry friend to stay at Carr Cottage for a couple nights while we were having work done on our place. We were looking for somewhere comfortable and clean to get away for a few days and maybe enjoy a few nice walks with the dog. We got all that and more. This cottage was such a lovely respite and we enjoyed every second of our stay. It was the perfect little place for us to have a much needed rest & ease the burden of all the craziness going on back home. The scenery was gorgeous, the location peaceful & picturesque, and the cottage wonderfully cozy. Everything was lovingly prepared and clearly done with a lot of care. We were very impressed with absolutely everything and appreciate that so much thought was put into every aspect of the home and making our stay as comfortable as possible. Despite living locally, we don’t venture up Luddenden nearly enough and we would love to come again. Thank you for everything!

We stayed six weeks, late April through early June. The house was perfect for my wife and I and we really enjoyed the home and rural but close to everything location. We decided to use bus and train passes with the occasional taxi and saw so much more than renting a car as we have in the past. We walked up the hill everyday to the house from the main road and at 70 years old we had no problems, it was good exercise before bed each evening. Susan and her husband Mark were perfect hosts, we saw them often and were very helpful. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Our best recommendation for this home is "We will stay again." At different times we walked all the local canals from Todmorden to Brighouse in sections, visited dozens of local villages and took the train to Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool, the airport and even down to London and Kent. Our bus passes also allowed us to roam all over Yorkshire.

Had a lovely, peaceful mid-week stay at Shirley’s place. A great bolt hole in the middle of the dales, with a short drive into the centre of Leeds. Everything was brilliant, clean, tidy and peaceful. Very easy to find and to park. Secure garden for most dogs - unfortunately my dog can jump incredibly high and was able to clear the garden wall, so that would be the only thing to note! We will be staying again as it’s very safe and located far away from the main road, so it was no problem. Thanks again Shirley!

The Loft is the perfect getaway for a relaxing stay. It’s not a huge place, but it certainly makes up for that in location, the amenities in the house/kitchen, comfy bed, brilliant shower and amazing views from every window. It is easy to find and Juliet is the perfect host. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Where do I start there is just so many positive things. I stayed here the night before my wedding with my sister and bridesmaids it was just beautiful in fact stunning. I was amazing. I asked for an early check in as I wanted to take some wedding things across, not only did Claire accommodate me she left a card chocolates and flowers, ironically from the same florist as my wedding flowers. I cried at the thoughtfulness. During the evening Claire then left homemade cakes at the door they were delicious btw. From myself and my wedding party you just blow us away from home he stunning cottage to the views and you being the most amazing kind host. Thank you.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 young children on a visit to Holmfirth to see my best friend. Simon was so helpful and went above and beyond for our stay. He ensured everything was set up for us including an extra bed for the children, fresh bread on the side, and milk in the fridge. Also loved the fresh coffee available. Our kids loved running circles around the the flat and Simon even made a point to say to not worry about the kids running around as his children even loved doing that when they were young. So it was very nice to be in a family friendly place. Even the fresh tulips on the table made us smile. Thank you Simon for a lovely stay!

What a great spot! This is a very unique place, the first smart home we’ve stayed in & we got to grips with it very quickly, and not to mention so cosy! We honestly felt right at home soon as we arrived, and the location had an amazing view, and had lots of extra toiletries (if you forget anything like we did). Both Sinead & Gareth were very responsive if we needed anything, certainly recommend staying here. Extra points for the huge smart TV perfect for our movie night! Thank you for a lovely stay 😊

Lovely stay, great host! Beautiful flat with everything we needed for cooking/comfort. Used the sofa bed, very easy. Great location right in the centre of town for exploring

The apartment was exactly as described and shown in the photos. Laura provided excellent directions which took us straight to the gate. Stewart was there when we arrived, so let us in and made us very welcome. The garden is beautiful, and he did say we could use it but sadly we didn't have time. As others have said, Laura provided milk, orange juice, bread, butter and marmelade which was a nice touch and meant we didn't need to shop. The whole apartment was well equipped with everything we needed, with a cosy and comfortable sitting area. We only used the kitchen for breakfast but it looked well enough equipped to cook in if necessary. Beds were also comfortable and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of birds in the garden and no traffic!

Beautiful cozy farmhouse in a lovely town near Leeds. The place was absolutely gorgeous - warm, inviting, and full of charm. The hot tub was amazing, and there were plenty of games to enjoy. The host was super helpful and thoughtful with great local recommendations as well as leaving crumpets, fresh milk and butter and a selection of cereals and snacks for us to enjoy. No negatives, highly recommend!

We had a fabulous stay at the bunker when going to a wedding at a nearby farm. Diana couldn’t have done more for us & was very kind, especially letting my nephew feed the chickens and fuss the dog. It is a spacious & comfortable home from home in the lovely town of Holmfirth.

Mark was so welcoming and proud of his property. We only stayed a night whilst racing bikes in the area but would have loved to of stayed in at his place longer. The added bonus of Mark offering to close the driveway gate overnight gave me peace of mind with my sport equipment and was greatly appreciated, a top host! Thank you Mark

Just what we were looking for - long scenic walks in beautiful surroundings. The flat was so lovely and was comfortable with everything we needed - with wonderful views. Perfect get away.

We had a wonderful stay in Rachel’s apartment. It was the perfect place to stay whilst we attended a wedding at the nearby Ponden Mill Wedding venue just 10 minutes away. Rachel was very helpful and we were able to drop off our bags in the morning before normal check in. The apartment is modern, clean and tidy and the bed was really comfy. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this beautiful apartment in Haworth.

We had a fantastic stay at Bumblebee cottage. Georgie was amazing and answered any questions i had within minutes of me messaging. The cottage is exactly as described. Immaculately clean. Beautiful linen and super comfy bed. The kitchen has everything you need with lovely cups and glasses and a coffee machine with pods provided. Loved the welcome pack too. The lounge was very cosy with a lovely electric fire. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a great stay.

This was my second time staying at Ben and Kate's place. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking to stay somewhere peaceful but within a few minutes walking distance into the town centre. They have the comfiest bed and leave delicious chocolates too.

This flat is exactly as described - it was in an excellent location for our needs and Richard & Caroline could not have been more helpful! Thank you guys - we really enjoyed our stay, the flat was perfect, if only we could have stayed longer!

We stayed for one night and everything was perfect. Great location for the Beer Festival. Felt at home as soon as we walked in. The honesty box for snacks and drinks is a great touch. Well equipped kitchen, although we didn’t do any cooking. Spotless bathroom. We had the best sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Whose place was warm and clean. Great info pack for local restaurants, takeaways, as well as contact details for local doctors and hospitals. Would 100% recommend and would stay again.

Bob is a great host, always responsive, kind, welcoming me wholeheartedly. Homemade bread and juice provided by Bob were yum! The apartment is an absolute 10 out of 10 for an escape. The Mountain View right outside the bedroom window calms me down instantly and I’d say I had some of the most grounding day of this year so far. Highly recommended and plan to come back again.

We had a lovely stay here. Sue was there when we arrived to welcome us but had also sent me the code for the lock in case she wasn’t there. Great communication before hand . The flat was lovely and cosy. Coffee teas , fresh milk and juice. Bread/ eggs/ cereal for breakfast. A bathroom to die for . Jacuzzi bath with separate shower. A cupboard filled with of toiletries. Fresh/ soft and fluffy towels. Only negative was the floor boards were a little squeaky . Hopefully us being up till 3am didn’t keep people awake . Location chosen as not far in a taxi from a wedding venue we were attending. Happily recommend . Brighouse is a lovely little town We arrive on a 1940’s weekend festive so lots to do and see during the day. Highly recommend .
