Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Watamu

My stay in Watamu, with my two friends, was very lovely. Yasmin, Antonio, and Mary made our stay very comfortable with their warm personalities and responsiveness to any queries we had throughout our visit. This was much appreciated when we needed assistance with things in the house. The open plan feel of the apartment with the strong breeze was something of a lifeline in the heat by the Indian Ocean and the effective A/C in all bedrooms was a blessing. The pool was clean and also very quiet which made mornings and evenings very peaceful to swim. The apartment is very well located and is just 5minutes, if that, to Watamu beach and also positioned close to the bank and nearby shops. I will be staying here again if and when I am on the coast, Gus (UK 23-29/08/24)

A beautiful place. Had wonderful time with my family. The place was clean and spacious. Zawadi the caretaker was lovely. Would recommend this place. Perfect for family.

Felt at home in this house…very peaceful and spacious house and property. The pool is lovely and great for kids and really feels private. Paul and Evans work hard and make sure you are ok, but also give space so you have privacy. The fans worked well to keep us cool at night. The house is in a great location, not far from Lichthaus/Garoda Beach area. Emilie is a wonderful host and very accommodating and communicative. Only spent a couple days there, but it was a nice break for our family.

Joanna’s place was amazing. My daughter with 6 friends went there and Joanna was very supportive and welcoming. The house is large, breezy, in great conditions, with large en suite rooms. The girls had a cook who helped prepare breakfast and dinner for a very reasonable prize , the pool was cleaned daily and the place was excellent for groups of families or friends. I would highly recommend and we will definitely go back !

WOW!! What a fabulous trip had by all!! 8 adults and 1 baby stayed for 10 nights at Shuma house. We had an incredible trip. Shuma is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, you really feel at one with nature here!. Shuma house itself is stunning, plenty of space for everyone, all the rooms are quirky, spacious and full of personality. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating, and all work incredibly hard to ensure we are well fed and looked after. Martin, Shumas chef cooked us the most delicious meals night after night! Lots of choice and flexibility with meal choices/timings/allergies etc. Robert was amazing and tended to our every need, especially our daughter Elkies needs! Thank you all so much for making our trip to Shuma House absolutely fabulous! It was an emotional goodbye, but it certainly wont be the last!! We will be back!! Thank you! 🤩

This is our 5th visit to The Beach House. We keep coming back for a bunch of reasons. Rehema, Ali and the rest of the staff are the best. The location right on the water with perfect views is unbeatable. Communication with Rory is consistently great. The top porch is some of my favorite square footage on the planet. And … have I mentioned how terrific Rehema is?

This is a wonderful home and we had a fabulous time. We came as 2 families of 4 (from London) + grandparents (from Nairobi) - so 10 of us in total. The house is beautiful - very charming and comfortable - and spills out onto the beach (via a private gated entrance). The kids loved playing in the small private pool and having daily walks out onto the reef in low-tide. The stretch of coastline the house is on is idyllic - about 20 min drive from Watamu town. The chef and staff are very attentive. We're all vegetarian and they handled that pretty well (though naturally they're more accustomed to a meat/seafood menu). As a family/group holiday venue, this is highly recommended.

Very convenient location in the heart of Gecko resort. Clean and spacious apartment, with much appreciated aircon. Easy access to the beach

We had a great stay at Micio House. Michela and Rooney are great hosts and very friendly and so are the staff. The compound is a little oasis with a beautiful terrace, pool and garden with lots of trees and bushes. I highly recommend staying here if you're coming to watamu as a small group or couple.

I really enjoyed my stay at Gianni's place! It is located in a very good area in Watamu and close to everything. I also loved the fact that it is so private. The house itself is also very nice. The kitchen supplies are maybe a bit basic without a kettle/toaster. But nothing to be worried about. Every night there is a night guard, which gave me a safe feeling. Although he doesn't speak English which sometimes caused some language barriers. The owner Gianni was always very responsive and easy to communicate with! Thank you for a great stay!

We had a good stay at Prudence's house. It's a modern, new, beautiful house. The pool is also suitable for night swimmers. It's very quiet. By tuk tuk you are quickly in the center of Malindi.

I have stayed multiple times at the Palm Beach Villas and it is always a great experience. Ben is very accommodating and responsive to any needs that may come up. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s not far from the beach or town. I always look forward to coming back.

We loved our stay at Nyumba ya Bubi! It is a beautiful home and located just a short walk to the beach. We were able to enjoy slow mornings and daily adventures at the beach. We recommend going on a local boat to see the star fish. The caretaker, Shaban, made our stay exceptional. He did a wonderful job & was very attentive. Laura was a very responsive and hospitable host. We enjoyed local cuisine at fine and just a short walk down the beach. The only downside for us what the construction happening on other villas was loud. Also, pack water shoes to wear since this part of the shore line is very rocky and there is a lot of seaweed. However the rest of our stay was great. We highly recommend this location!

We had a beautiful 5 days at tranquillity House, which more than deserves the name! Kire gave us the instruction on how to reach the house, contact the housekeeper and what to do around Malindi. There is also a great booklet with information on restaurants, trips to do and many other useful things. I highly recommend to give it a read. The stuff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Big thanks to Joel, Dickson and Ken! You can reach the beach and some of the restaurant by foot (5-15 minutes) or just ask Joel to organize a ride! Also the boat tour he organized for us has been great! Thanks a lot, hope to be back!

Great place with friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The property has direct access to the beach and other facilities such as restaurants. internet connection was the only thing that was sub par - wifi only works in a limited area of the house. Other than that everything was great!

Thanks for the hospitality! We had a great stay here. Had our own private roof terrace which was very chilled and comfortable. Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily and our host and staff very friendly and hospitable. We also got transportation very easily to Malindi airport that we asked for! Lovely stay and would recommend, really great value for money.

Lovely place. Very well maintained and clean. Great pool. Amazing location near beach and local shops. Delicious food cooked by Bui. We had a great stay as a family. If I come back to Watamu I will stay here. Recommend.

Amazing place to relax and feel on holiday. Great restaurants in the area and the own private pool is the place to be. Alex and Pendo are the icing on the cake, great people, always welcoming and supportive and great people.

Our stay at this house was truly enjoyable. The house was comfortable and clean, offering a cozy atmosphere. The outdoor space with the pool was a pleasant spot to unwind, and the beach nearby was easily accessible. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, providing helpful tips for our stay. Overall, a relaxing getaway that deserves five stars. We'd happily return for another peaceful vacation.

The apartment was very very nice and the hosts are very helpful and courteous. My guest was very happy. Oasis village however is in a very bad state of repair…

Andrew and Daniela are amazing hosts… My family and I felt right at home from the get go. Their home is beautiful just like the pictures I would definitely recommend and we shall be back if you will have us…. Every place Daniela recommended did not disappoint , restaurants , activities , lounging etc .. Andrew made everyone happy on top of that he’s a great chef, if you love sea food you are in the right hands. Thank you both for hosting us…
