Dream away to Rømø – an island where sky and sea merge and nature reveals itself from its most breathtaking side. In the middle of the wild landscape of Sønderstrand and the magical Wadden Sea, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies this modern and newly renovated 150 m² cottage with room for 12 guests (8 adults and 4 children). Here, luxury, wellness, activities and nature are combined with a hot tub, sauna and wilderness bath under the stars – perfect for families, friends and couples seeking peace, freedom and immersion.

Vacation home opposite Sylt, Amrum and Föhr

This is what holiday dreams under thatched roofs look like: The Frisian cottage "Kliemkiker" was newly built in 2016: 120 square meters of living space for up to 4 people on a nearly 1000 square meter plot with fantastic views, directly on the Wadden Sea National Park. A dog is also very welcome. All North Frisian islands (Sylt, Föhr, Amrum) and Halligen (e.g. Hooge, Gröde, Langeness) as well as the islands of Pellworm and Römö in Denmark are easily reached by car, train or boat as a day trip.

Beautiful View

Here you can relax and start excursions to the surrounding area. The house is situated in an idyllic location on the marsh hiking trail. The apartment is located in a half of the house that is separately accessible for guests. It offers a lounge area, a reading corner, a kitchen, 3 double rooms and 3 bathrooms. The hosts live in the other half of the house. In the guest garden you can relax or let off steam on the trampoline. An additional room in the passage area has been added.

Halmhuset - The Straw House

Our thatched house is probably the only "Halmhuset" that is rented as a vacation home in Denmark. It is breathable, made of clay and straw, and is sustainably supplied by heat pump and photovoltaics. In summer, the thick walls provide pleasant coolness, in winter it is cozy and warm, with a room height of up to 4 meters. A real feel-good place for up to 8 people, located at the gates of the city of Tønder, close to the Wadden Sea National Park and the islands of Sylt and Rømø.

From Humptrup, the North Sea is about 20 km away! The ideal starting point for day trips to the North Frisian islands and Halligen (e.g. Sylt, Föhr, Amrum, Hooge, Oland, Hamburger Hallig). The Nolde Museum is in the immediate vicinity and Denmark is only 3 km away.

After a day at the beach, you can enjoy the evening sun from the terrace, light the wood-burning stove on cool evenings, or relax in the wilderness bath under the stars. It's only about 2 km to the beach and water, and Sønderborg city center with cafes, shopping and attractions is just 20 km away.

If you want to experience authentic Danish coziness, here is a unique opportunity. This is the original farmhouse for Kirkeskovgaard. The house was completely renovated in 2020. The home is located in scenic surroundings with direct views of several lakes, meadows and grazing Icelandic horses as well as a completely unique wildlife. If you need peace, quiet and space for recharging and reflection, then this is clearly a house for you.

My North Star

We modernized the approximately 200 m² vacation home "Mein Nordstern" with a lot of love for detail in 2021. We have equipped and furnished the house as we like it best. In addition to design classics, there are high-quality beds and selected kitchen utensils that make the house modern and cozy overall. Our sauna is brand new from autumn 2023. Sit back and relax – in this quiet, stylish accommodation.
