Wow, what a stunning setting. A beautiful, large house with all the furnishings you'd expect in an old school farm house, but at the same time a very modern design that still makes you feel at home. Interesting decor and details dotted throughout the house,. even the authors on the bookshelf ticked the right boxes! We never lacked anything, the hot tub was amazing after dark and the place was kept spotless and stocked by helpful and kind workers. Waking up early to the cows and horses silhouetted on the landscape with a cup of hot coffee in hand made sleeping in seem a little bit less appealing. Definitely recommend!

Smithfield is the perfect halfway stop for us from the Eastern Cape to North West. Elaine’s place was great for one night’s sleep. The toys were an extra advantage to keep the kids busy.

A wonderful spot if you are looking for a remote & peaceful but still very comfortable stay. We try and find out of the way spots that showcases the best of the beautiful SA countryside and Lindys place is certainly one of those. The home is very secluded and private with excellent finishings too. If you are an astronomy or star-gazing enthusiast then this is a highly recommended location as the nigh sky is unbelievably awesome here. Literally horizon to horizon...

Ashleigh 's place was half-way between Jhb and Garden route and she went out of her way to assist us with a reunion/goodbye for a family of siblings all in their 70's - some came from W.Cape, some from Gauteng and one who now lives on a farm near to Colesberg. One is leaving for New Zealand in a few months, so possibly the last time they are all together under one roof. Ashleigh arranged an earlier check in and a later check out and was so accommodating with all our requests. Her receptionist, Elmarie was so friendly and helpful as well and even came back to show us oldies how to use the SmartTV. Would highly recommend and would definitely return to stay again, when passing through Colesburg enroute to Johannesburg. A beautiful little Karoo town.

We came for a night on the way down to the cape… loved it so much that we came back for 2 nights a week later on our return to Pretoria, Hennie is more than a host - he is our friend and we can’t wait to come stay with him again … We will be back next year for sure! And thank you again for the surprises you given us… super special! P

What an absolute treat staying over at Jacqueline's. We arrived quite late and Jacqueline made to sure communicate with us regarding the road to their place and how best to be safe. The place itself was really quaint and comfortable, really great set up, amazing shower, very comfortable bed and we felt right at home. Our doggo lived playing with Boela, the resident Boerboel, he's such a gentle giant. Jaco and Jacqueline made us feel right at home and were extremely welcoming and friendly, we had a really great chat. We even left with a beautiful plant from their garden, can't wait to plant it. Was really a wonderful and comfortable stay. Wish we were there for longer to check out the town, had a really good time.
