Hut in Argyll
4.99 out of 5 average rating, 148 reviewsThe Wee Hut
Sarah AlexandraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We were so blown away by our stay at the Wee Hut. The views are so dreamy, the place is overgrown with scented flowers in bloom, ponies play in the fields and they little touches such as the fresh eggs and bread made such a difference to our romantic little getaway. The fact that we could also do a yoga class and use the sauna on the Loch too was just extra special. Kate was the best yoga instructor I've had - the restorative yoga class was just what we needed. We can't wait to come back! Oh and make sure to nose around in the honesty larger - we had some amazing freshly made cinnamon buns!

From the moment we stepped through the door, till the time we left I was so happy to find this beautiful place! It suited us perfectly and instead of being ignored for having a dog we were treated amazingly! It felt so comfortable.

Cottage in Rothesay
5 out of 5 average rating, 28 reviewsQuiet rural cottage on the beautiful west of Bute
StephenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This cottage is fantastic. Everything here has been thought of. If you were inclined you could literally prepare any main meal here. The location was perfect for us looking for a simple, peaceful base to explore Bute from. The host has placed in the cottage. plentiful maps, walks and references for things to do on the Island. Ettrick bay is a tranquil retreat with amazing scenery in every direction. It has good walks locally and an hourly bus back into Rothesay. If you wish you can walk the old Tram path back to Port Banantyne (about 90 mins). I have to say we were extremely fortunate with the weather (17-21 March) and it was wonderful at the end of the day to sit on the patio with a glass of wine staring out to sea and the Island of Arran. Simply Stunning.

The cosy flat is everything you could have expected, and has an ideal location with a stunningly breathtaking seafront view. Parking right outside the front door with no issues. The welcome book Sheena has includes all the local information (from instructions on how to use the sofa bed and thermostat, restaurants, to fun facts about the island. Clearly, Sheena has went out of her way and thought of everything that her guests would benefit from knowing during their stay. Thanks again.

Wow! What a gem of a place. I believe we were the first to stay since the 2nd bedroom and en-suite, main bathroom and kitchen had been refurbished, absolutely no expense spared. The property is very well equipped and had a welcoming feel to the place. There were towels and bowls for our dog, a delightful welcome pack that included home baked soda bread, very tasty indeed. Communication with Kate & Andy was absolutely spot on throughout the experience from booking to departure, which included suggestions of places of interest. The views from the balcony are extremely pleasing to the eye and a superb place to sit and savour a bottle of wine. The neighbours are extremely friendly and full of further advice on the surrounding area and where to go to see the island of Jura, a lovely family. It really was a privilege to be custodians of such an historic building for a week. Even our dog didn't want to leave!

The cottage was small but perfect for our group if 2 adults a child and a dog. Everything you could need was was provided. I took my own cafetière but needn’t have bothered as there was one in the cottage! The view was lovely and the area so quiet. There are lots of places to walk and our dog had a great time. Do make sure you fill up with petrol at Dunoon or Strachur though as the petrol station in Tighnabruaich was not open at all during our five days. I thoroughly recommend this cottage and the village of Tighnabruaich.
