Guesthouse vacation rentals in Thousand Oaks

The host Linda was very responsive. We were evacuated due to the Palisades and other wild fires, and we were very disappointed! But Linda called in the middle of the night telling us we had to leave. Power went out eventually in the unit and we returned quickly to retrieve all of our belongings. We were able to go and stay with friends we were supposed to be visiting. Since the situation was so terrible, we arranged to leave early for our second destination and Linda was very gracious about refunding our early departure and Airb&b was very helpful and refunded our entire stay. Hopefully, when we return for our son’s wedding in May we will have the full experience!

I would recommend it to others! No reservations at all! One does need a car to get around west LA, but that goes without saying.

Great place for a quick getaway in the mountains. The drive to the spot was very scenic. I would recommend the space for anyone that was looking for a quick nature trip.

We had a wonderful stay at Paul Henry's guest house tucked away in their beautiful garden. It was comfortable and thoughtfully put together: plenty of outlets and charging cables for different devices; shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower; a great coffee maker with a reusable filter. Paul’s communication and clear instructions made settling in a breeze. The location is also fantastic—it’s rare to be able to walk around so easily in LA!

Needed a last minute place to stay in LA for one night before a flight. This place was convenient to great neighborhoods and an easy drive to the airport.

Michael and Laura were fabulous hosts. Before I checked in, they sent me a message asking about my favorite drink -- so that they could have it waiting for me! I felt like I arrived to a secret garden, with a darling welcome sign at the front door. The entrance feels fully private and the area is so quiet. The space is thoughtfully stocked, with everything I needed for cooking, showering, sleeping, relaxing. Michael checked in to see that I had everything I needed and was quick to respond when I texted about best walkable grocery stores or scenic walks. They are a perfect combination of warm and attentive, while also respecting privacy. This is my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed. And I hope to come back again! Seriously cannot thank them enough for a wonderful time and for sharing their incredible space with me! Hugs to you both -- fabulous job!

Jamie’s cottage was so inviting and comfortable. It was perfect in every way. And Jamie and Billy couldn’t have been nicer to us. Great folks; great place. Our new go-to place in Ventura!

Had a lovely three week stay stay at Alice and Eric's lovely guesthouse / cottage in Topanga! Very quiet and peaceful setting, guesthouse was private and spacious with everything you need, and I really enjoyed reading and hanging out on the patio and in the garden area on sunny days. So many great hiking trails nearby and it's only a 5-7 minute drive into Topanga Village or an easy 10-12 minutes into Calabasas and Woodland Hills where there are plenty of great grocery stores and restaurants. Wonderful calm and serene alternative place for a short or long stay compared to the many overly busy, crowded areas of greater Los Angeles. Highly recommend! I loved my little canyon retreat in the hills of LA. Being born and raised here but now a visitor, I wanted to experience the nature and serenity that the city of Angels has to offer (if you can find it!). Megan’s place was exactly as described and pictured - small but perfect for 1-2 people who want a little quiet after a full day out and about. Mainly, Megan was kind, helpful, and quick to respond to all my inquiries! She also was very respectful of guest privacy - and the parking spot was a plus! I highly recommend Megan’s rare find location - and walking around the neighborhood!

I must say that this place was one of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in! I would ever go as far as to say the pictures doesn’t do it justice. It was an absolute beauty, with a huge hot tub deck complete with a covered outside bar with a grill and room for 10+ guests. The guest itself was spotless and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. There is even a washer and dryer inside the unit. I would most definitely recommend staying here and will be booking a stay here again. Thank you Tracy for your near-immediate responses, welcoming hospitality, and quaint accommodations!

Can't say enough good things about Michael and the AirBnB! The place itself was really cute - the decor was beautiful and evocative of the Topanga spirit. The hot tub was clean and the view was beautiful. We weren't especially good guests - we arrived late, disheveled, and without a car - but Michael was an extremely gracious and accommodating host. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we got a great experience. He even let us play with the baby kittens, which was a real highlight of the weekend! Would come back in a heartbeat, and we'd be sure to be better prepared on our return journey!

This space is amazing! The outdoor front yard really makes the place. We were with small kiddos and they loved being outside and hanging out watching the planes coming in. Ernesto was very communicative and the inside had everything you would need. We had such a great time and are hoping to book it again in the future. Great place and host!

Desi’s guest house was the perfect place for a couple’s getaway. It was very clean and cozy, from the comfy bed to the extra hot shower it had everything we needed. The location is a quick 2 minute drive to the beach and 10 to 15 minutes to lots of fun dining and hiking options. We loved sitting on the balcony and enjoying our morning coffees while listening to the birds sing. Soaking in the hot tub at the end of the day was a real treat! Desi was a great host, quickly responding to any question that we had. We hope to return again soon!

I had a wonderful stay at the casita! Michael and Sara were awesome hosts and I was welcomed into the space. Hosts were really communicative and quickly responded to any questions that I had. The space was beautiful both indoors and outdoors, and the kitchen was nicely stocked with the basics. The water pitcher was a really nice touch and highly appreciated when I arrived. Parking was not difficult, managed to park on the street and the hosts offered the driveway space as well. Overall, I had a great time staying here, and it is a spot I would highly recommend and consider staying again next time I'm in the area. Thank you for hosting me.

This is a very spacious studio in a great location and quiet neighborhood. Super easy to find and access. We easily traveled to LAX, LA/Beverly Hills, Malibu, Long Beach, Newport Beach and the Kia Forum from here. Close to lots of good restaurants on the other side of the 405 and there is a Walmart Neighborhood Market super close. The washer and dryer were a great perk as well. My 14 year old daughter, her best friend and I had plenty of room in this huge studio. The multiple mirrors were a plus as well when we were getting ready at the same time. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Stay for me & my Girlfriend , beautiful view i do recommend !

This place was perfect to stay at for a weekend. Nestled in the mountains just a few minutes from the main road, the drive up is steep and narrow, which made it feel like a real adventure. It’s also only a short drive to the town, which is super cute and fun to walk around — lots of small shops to explore. The Airbnb is very private with stunning views, and the photos are exactly what it looks like. I loved sitting outside in the mornings, listening to the birds and watching wildlife. There’s a hiking trail right behind the property too. The space was spotless and beautifully decorated — cozy bed, comfy couch, and a great kitchen with fridge, stove, utensils, etc (though no microwave). I’d suggest grabbing groceries in LA, about 15 minutes away, since the local store is small. There was no Wi-Fi and I had no phone signal at the Airbnb, but I didn’t mind since I wanted to unplug. I could walk just a minute down the road to get service if needed. I loved this place, it was magical.

Ray and Andrea were amazing. They communicated very well, made everything easy, and have an adorable property. We had a couple of encounters with them and they were pleasant and friendly, as well as messages in which they were also great. I highly recommend this property and the hosts, it was well worth it.

Laura Jane is a beautiful person inside and out. Her warm spirit shows in her studio. This was a great private space that gave you everything a full home would have to offer. The studio was designed beautifully and was very clean. The bed and pillows were beyond comfortable, I had never experienced such comfort. I love how easy it was to park in a designated spot and the beautiful grounds of the home and patio. I had the pleasure of meeting Laura Jane and she is so kind. You can tell that she and her family worked hard to have a beautiful location for themselves and others. Also, the freeway appeared to be nearby. I was able to get to the places I needed to get to easily w/ navigation. This is a great space for a single traveler or couple. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this beautiful place to others.

The property was in the hills of Topanga Canyon. Quiet except for the bird symphony. Beautiful surroundings and very private. Lynn was extremely accessible and house was clean and well equipped. I'll be back soon!
