The boathouse is located close to famous areas such as Trollstigen, Geiranger, Aalesund and Atlanterhavsvegen. In the immediate vicinity are the alpine facilities at Fjellsetra and Strandafjellet. Sunnmørsalpene is known for its fantastic hiking area in summer and winter.

Fjellsetra is a good starting point for many nice top trips both summer and winter. Only a short drive from Strandafjellet and Sykkylven. The nature in the area is fantastic and many of the most famous mountains in Sunnmørsalpane are right outside the door. Close to Ålesund, Geiranger and Hellesylt

The cabin was built in 2023 and is located in the middle of the Sunnmørsalpen mountains, with hiking and biking terrain right outside the door and the fjords a short drive away. There is a disc golf course and ball pit nearby, a gondola with a café on Strandafjellet that is open in the summer, and Geiranger, Trollstigen and Valldal are within an hour's drive. In short: a comfortable base for active summer days, whether you want to climb peaks or just slow down with a view of the mountains. And if you come in the winter, you can go straight out on skis.

The cabin can also be a base for exploring the region, with a short distance to the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, beautiful Geiranger or the bird mountain on Runde. This cabin is perfect for families or groups of up to 6 people. The cabin is located in a field at Strandafjellet ski resort. The cross-country ski trail goes right past the cabin. There is access to a nice tour with starting point in the cabin. It is a short distance to Stranda city center. There is also a short distance to Hellesylt and the start of Geirangerfjorden. Just a short distance to the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. All the hiking opportunities in the Sunnmørsalpene are just a short drive away.

In the summer you can also fish in Nysætervatnet (must buy a fishing license).

Perfect base for hiking and fishing

The house is located at Riksheim, Sykkylven in beautiful surroundings with great hiking and fishing possibilities. Most of the house was renovated in fall 2015. A spacious veranda with views of the fjord was added. A boat and boat house available for guests. Public transport is scarce in the area, and we do not recomend staying without a car.
