The Observatory Cottages at the top of Mt Dandenong has been the place to stay in the ranges for years, and with good reason! We last visited Ironbark cottage 20 years ago and we loved it this time as we did two decades ago. It’s extremely cosy and private and you can easily spend a whole weekend at the cottage without leaving! The spa and gas log fire place are highlights, adding to the warm and cozy vibe. Penny leaves great provisions for a cooked breakfast for two mornings and there’s a kitchen if you feel like staying in. She has great communication and is very responsive if you need her for anything. A beautiful choice for a weekend of R&R. Highly recommended.

The cottage is surrounded by lots of nature and greenery. it was very relaxing the time we enjoyed there. The information and description was exactly as per described. Seamless experience during all our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at Pigeon Bark farm in the cottage. The place was cosy and specious with comfy beds and couch, spotlessly clean with old world charm. The kitchen had all we needed and was well stocked, the coffee and breakfast provisions and snacks were good. It was completely calm and peaceful but lovely to see the animals around, especially the beautiful friendly peacocks who can be hand fed. Jacqui was an excellent host and living nearby was an excellent help with anything we needed and quickly responded to our needs. She even went the second mile by offering us drop off and pick up from our very close wedding venue. A lovely friendly person.

It was a wonderful place to spend the night with family. More than ample space to host a lovely family dinner and board games afterwards. The fireplace made it all the more cosy.

I have stayed at Thackeray many times. it's the perfect location on the beach.. great bike rides... easy to park... close to everything and Alyce is continually upgrading equipment in her home so everything works! highly recommended. a unique place with beautiful character.

My family stayed here for 4 nights & it was a lovely home! the beds were the BEST we have had in an Airbnb! Jo communicated so well & check in & out went smoothly. We had everything we needed to cook & enjoy the space. We were so close to the city but no noice & the heating was so good & increased the cosiness of the cottage. Will definitely be returning! thank you Jo

The moment I stepped inside Sylvia’s home, I didn’t want to leave….. The atmosphere was so soothing and relaxing. Everything was perfectly crisp and clean. The bath and the fire place were a BIG highlight for me. You can also walk down to the back garden which has beautiful trees and a seating area for a fire-pit. Parking was perfect, right off the street and room for 2 cars easily. I’ll be saving this listing as I fell in love with every little aspect of this place. Thanks Sylvia for being so responsive.

craig and Donna are wonderful hosts, made us feel at home, could not be more helpful. Beautiful location and accommodation close to everything but felt wonderfully remote. George their Labrador was fabulous and super friendly and obedient. we are world travelers and this was the best bnb we have ever stayed in. Awesome 2 weeks. Definitely booking again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sunny Blue Cottage for two months. The house was exactly as described - beautiful, with a cozy fireplace that made chilly evenings so enjoyable. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, the bedroom comfortable with cozy linen and extra fans and ac for warmer days. Overall, everything you could think of for a long-term stay was available and made our stay most convenient. The neighborhood was incredibly peaceful, and we felt welcomed by the friendly neighbors. Plus, having the South Melbourne just a short walk away is perfect for little lunch breaks or weekend shopping. But what truly made our stay exceptional were the hosts. They were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Absolutely loved our stay! Private and peaceful, this cabin is super cosy and has everything you need for a chill getaway. Loved the fire pit and greenery surrounds. So much to explore with Yarra valley nearby. Hosts are super easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend!

Great little guest house tucked away in a nice quiet street. Can definitely recommend.

Love staying here. Hosts are friendly welcoming and Not intrusive. So easy to get around with the Train and Tram around the corner. Great Bars and Restaurants and Shopping! Very cosy and comfortable, with everything you need.
