Heating is handled by a soapstone oven and two stoves. Electricity is powered by solar only in the darkest months, batteries are charged with an agglomeration. Wood-burning sauna in the same building. The front toilet is composted and odorless. Kainuu nature tours rent electric steel bikes, slip shoes, and kayaking equipment.
