Vacation rentals with a kayak in Strathcona

Mel and her hubby need that Airbnb to consider bumping their rating from 5 to 7 or even 10 stars. She was super attentive, a lifesaver since we got there two hours early and she welcomed us with open arms, even though the kids were wiped out from the drive. She kept checking on us knowing the kids were buzzing to explore. The jacuzzi was spotless, and the kitchen? Wow, fully stocked – she even had extra spices and sauces for forgetful folks! Seriously, best Airbnb experience in Canada so far, and we're hoping to go back soon.

The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated, with an amazing location to top it off. Barb was lovely to communicate with and was very responsive with any questions we had. Great for a girls weekend away or a family vacation, there is something for everyone. We will happily stay there again!

We stayed here for a relaxing bachelorette and it was so incredible! Gorgeous views, a beautiful space to hang out in, and the hot tub was amazing on the one rainy day. Can’t wait to visit again!

We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years. Gwen and Chris were by far the most helpful of any hosts we have had. Gwen gave us lots of ideas for activities and actually delivered fresh seafood for us several times. Chris transported their kayaks to a local lake for us (and came back to retrieve them later). They both went above above and beyond. We hope to return to this beautiful area, and we would definitely stay in this this home again.

Heather's place was really beautiful and exactly as pictured. The view is really wonderful and the house is quiet and relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the accommodations spacious. We made several meals and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub. The location was close to the water, a local cidery, and local hikes/walks.

It was an enchanting experience that lived up to all the beautiful photos on the listing . True BC West Coast experience. We will be back soon for sure.

We had an amazing time here! Such a beautiful location! And Billy & Shelly made the most of the location with how they renovated the home to be the perfect AirBnB. There were also so many little touches & amenities that were greatly appreciated (treats, wine, plenty of coffee & tea, fishing gear, linens, etc). Everything was well stocked that you might need (not the barebones feeling like some other properties). Another cool thing that other hosts should take note of is their use of a tankless hot water system; more energy efficient while providing guests as much hot water as they need. (Don’t rent a place where only one guest can have a shower per evening. 😅)) They have obviously been guests elsewhere, because it shows in the way they host. Shelly was also very helpful & responsive with her communication. There were a couple minor (and unavoidable) maintenance things due to the weather that they immediately addressed (in under an hour). And then they gifted us a little tackle

Waterfront property in a small rural northern island town. House is cozy with all amenities. Host communicates well.

The cabin of your childhood dreams…sit back, relax, enjoy the lake and connect with family/friends. North Lake has fabulous swimming and almost no bugs. The cabin has a lovely view and lots of different areas to sleep. Lynne was a great host, very attentive and communicative. We had a lovely time, thanks Lynne.

A great spot on a quiet bay, perfect for relaxing, going for a paddle and exploring the many nearby attractions. An evening dip in the hot tub to cap it off makes for a wonderful stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Michelle’s place! The surroundings were stunning, with a beautiful water view and a lovely garden that made the experience even more special. Michelle was an incredible host, very kind, responsive, and thoughtful. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, even staying up late just to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed. When we requested extra bakeware, she provided it right away. The home felt cozy and inviting, truly a home away from home. We highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful time at Quadra Island. Katerina and her husband were very welcoming and provided us with excellent tips. The lake is great and we did a lot of kayaking and paddling. Warm recommandation for this address.

We stayed 3 nights in Colin's cabine. it was the last days of our honeymoon. It was absolutly perfect! We loved our stay. We loved the cabine. It’s not that rustic. The bed, the sheets, the towels, the dishes are new. The cabine is in between the woods and the sea. the view is spectacular. We saw many animals. It’s calm and lovely. The town and the restaurants are at 15 min by car. You can relax, walk, reflect and enjoy life. Last but not least, Colin is really nice, reactive and helpful. He seems to be a really good person. Scott’s place was a beautiful stay, amazing location for us and our pup. Great place to drop the paddle boards in, super cosy cabins and wonderful food at their restaurant ☺️ highly recommend and hopefully we’ll be back in the future

Our cabin was cute and cozy. The beds were super comfortable and the everything was clean. The location and views are great, you can walk down to the marina to see the sunset and jellyfish. Perfect little getaway!

I had an amazing stay. If you’re looking for a genuine and cute glamping experience then this place is perfect. The property is lovely, the sites are private and the amenities make you feel like you’re camping in comfort. I loved the camping style with the foot pump water and propane stove, so make sure you’re up for it. I slept the nights with the frame open and had no issues with bugs, and got the chance to have a lovely campfire and hang with the local brown Hares. It was a great place to step away for a while:)

What an absolute gem! Tucked away in a peaceful garden, yet so close to the stunning natural beauty of Vancouver Island, this cabin was the perfect retreat. The space is cosy and well-equipped - especially the kitchen, which had everything needed for home-cooked meals. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. I loved how close the cabin is to walking trails, the beach, and the charming local town - everything felt just a short stroll or drive away. But truly, what made the experience exceptional were the hosts, Tammy and Michael. Their warmth, friendliness, and genuine hospitality made us feel not just welcomed, but like part of the family. This is the kind of place you don’t just visit once - you return to, like visiting loved ones. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace, comfort, and heartfelt connection.

This was our second time staying here and we couldn’t ask for a better accommodation! Gayle and Lee both went above beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We loved the complimentary kayak rentals use on the marina. They also offered us a free boat tour of the marina and the nearby islands! Anything you think you may need, Gayle and Lee have provided. We can’t wait to come back!!

Myself and two of my team members stayed at Michael’s place April 23-26 and we had an absolutely wonderful time! The home itself is so cozy and warm with stunning views and surroundings. It was quiet and peaceful, well equipped and extremely clean! We spent our time hiking and exploring the area but the highlight of the trip was the sunset paddle we enjoyed in the kayaks. The only negative feedback I could share is that I found the beds extremely hard and uncomfortable but that may also be a matter of preference. All in all in was a fantastic stay and I would certainly recommend Michael’s place to anyone looking for a relaxing or adventurous getaway with friends or family!!
