Otter's Retreat Bed and Breakfast Apartment for 2

JaneRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Christine and Howard were exceptional hosts. Their generosity was more than anything one could wish for . The breakfast the welcome basket, there was so much to choose from . We felt right at home and very comfortable from the start and they were both ready to help and support in anyway. Howard is a mind of information and brilliant to chat to , he was very helpful and gave us lots more of information of where to go on our walks. Thank you Christine and Howard x

Seaforth (Standard 2-bedroom apartment)

DonaldRating, 5 stars24 months ago
This is a fabulous place, and once we found it, we enjoyed every minute. The staff is helpful and made us feel welcome. The rooms are large, and staying in a castle is pretty special. My only complaint is that the description of where the unit is located is very misleading. We were told the apartment is "ON the Lews Castle grounds", which are over 600 acres. For travelers like us, completely unfamiliar with the castle, that's very confusing, and an accurate description would be more helpful and enticing. The unit is IN Lews Castle. And it's great!

Flat 3 Decor8

Doreen’s apartment in Stornoway was perfect for us! Doreen is lovely! She has done a beautiful job creating a space that has everything you need - immaculate, spacious, private , quiet. We appreciated the items that welcomed us - bread, butter, biscuits. The apartment is close to the ferry which is very convenient. A large Tesco grocery store is a five minute walk away which was ideal because we like to prepare our own food. The Harris Tweed Authority is in the Town Hall, two minute walk away. It is really worth visiting. There is also a market in the Town Hall (check the days and times) which gives you a true taste of the local arts, crafts etc. It is a short walk to Lews castle and grounds (you can have a walk about). Stornoway is a great starting point for drives to the Standing Stones, Blackhouse Village, Butt of Lewis, Torsta Beach, Dun Carloway Broch. We are very happy that we chose Doreen’s apartment and highly recommend it!

Spacious, Airy & Gorgeous Attic Flat, sleeps 7

JosephineRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great stay at the flat. Perfectly located in the centre of Stornoway, we had easy access to shops. There is a coffee shop opposite (10% off for ordering in Gaelic) and a quick hop to the lovely Ishga skin care shop. We came for the half marathon, which was friendly and welcoming race especially in comparison with London, in addition to running through stunning scenery. Thank you.

Charming, loch-side cottage

LeeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Wow.. wow.. wow! Erica is a wonderful host & very accommodating - met in person and was most welcoming with lots of hints & tips about the Island. The accommodation was everything & above what we had hopped for. The location & surroundings are just magical. Ideally placed as a base for our adventure exploring the Isle - pretty much central to everything. The fixtures & furnishing are top class, with a lovely homely feel - the attention to detail is quite amazing! Congratulations & keep up the excellent work. The welcoming hamper of local produce was a boon & most unexpected - thank you. Sitting on the deck overlooking the loch & seeing a Golden Eagle flying overhead was just the icing on the cake for a wonderful stay. Would we stay here again - it’s a definite yes! In fact we have already recommended the accommodation to family & friends who plan to visit. You can’t say any more than that 👏 Thank you once again, Lee, Roy & Georgia 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

ISLE be BACK, Seaview and beach on your doorstep

CynthiaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Alec was immensely kind to recommend an alternative route from Skye because of change of ferry service. I updated him with my whereabouts and he and his wife were at the front garden waiting for us to arrive safely. He made us very welcome to his immaculate property ...the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in several all over the world. There is even a summer house in the back garden too. The property was as clean as my own house; equipped with every appliance we needed. This was more than an Airbnb - it was a cosy home from home. Thank you Alec and your wife, Fiona. Best wishes ...Cynthia

Old Croft House, 26 Back

GrantRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Along with three friends we visited the Western Isles for a week from 28 April 2025. The Old Croft house was the ideal base and was very easy to find just north of Stornoway. The setting is fantastic, the house and garden excellent and Jan and Callum were the perfect hosts and most welcoming. Staying close by we kept in touch throughout our stay. We loved the welcome pack full of stay essentials and the ease of access at check in and flexibility at check out. This is a fantastic place to stay and well worth the cost. Would definitely come back without hesitation. We all had a great visit and were able to reach the islands must see places from the Old Croft House. Also they are fabulous facilities for all aspects of our stay in Stornoway and a very informative guest information pack provided in the house. Cheapest fuel on the Islands just being within a short drive from the house. Having the four bedrooms, two bath/shower rooms and two lounges means it is flexible to any types of guests

Christiane was an outstanding hostess that went of and beyond to make our stay perfect. Provided an extensive list of restaurants and places to visit. A short walk to shops and public transportation. One of best properties we stayed in during our month long vacation in Scotland.

What an amazing place to come and stay! Not sure where to begin with the praise for this place. Hosts were amazing, everyone we met was outstanding and the landscape speaks for itself. We had some strong winds and rain during our stay and in some way that added to our experiences on this trip! 100% recommend.

Excellent property. Very central in Tarbet . Easy to find. Good parking. Inside it was perfect- met all our expectations and all our needs. Spotless on arrival . Everything in house clearly labelled. Nicola responded very quickly to any queries we had. Was able to tell us where outdoor chairs were stored on the only sunny afternoon and we wanted to sit outside. Nicola is an excellent host.
