Cottage vacation rentals in Steuben County

Beautiful home right on the lake. The weather was a bit cold and rainy while we were there so we didn't use the outside space as much as planned, but the spacious living room and dining room were perfect for our 8-person group plus a 7 month old! Tons of space to spread out, play games, read, and play with baby. There were mega blocks, a play mat, a high chair, a changing table, a crib, and everything we could need for our baby. The hot tub was also fantastic for the colder days. We used the firepit as well and there were plenty of Adirondack chairs for our group our there. Two of our cars are electric, so the charger was a big plus! This is a wonderful find and we would love to book again later in the summer! Perfect for the whole family. We cooked a few time while here, and the kitchen had the basics like toaster, cooking utensils, pans, knives, etc. Lots of cups and glasses for making drinks, too.

We had a great time in the hot tub! The house is close to lots of cute wineries. We also took advantage of the state park trails just down the road.

The Diane and Tom were very responsive and helpful from local attractions to helping provide tools when we had car trouble. The space was very welcoming and even had local coffee, s'mores makings, and other snacks. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing at anytime of the day and the lake was within walking distance. The only downside was an uncomfortable master bed, but the other 3 beds were like sleeping on clouds! The water is not drinkable due to taste, but we brought our own.

Our family had a great stay at Michel’s home! The house was perfect size for our group with 2 couples & 3 children. Very clean w/ nice kitchen & dining area w/ everything we needed to make meals at the cottage. Good water pressure/temp in shower! The location is ideal for families w/ small children. It is tucked a little way off of the main road where neighbors travel slowly. We really appreciated this aspect being able to take the kids for bike rides w/o worrying about speeding cars & a ton of traffic. The lake access is ideal for water activities w/ the kids because it is a gentle slope into the water & only about 4’ deep right off the dock. We all went swimming even though it was freezing! 😄The game & toy closet kept our children entertained when we needed a break from the sun. The neighbors were very kind as well! There may be fancier/bigger places, but this home had everything we needed & more! Those looking to spend relaxing & fun time right on the lake need look no further!

Had a lovely 3-night stay at Alec's place. We were on a fishing trip bringing our three children and our pontoon boat and this place was perfect. Spacious, lovely view of the lake and very cozy and comfortable. When we walked in, it smelled clean and fresh. Beds were super comfy; the hot tub was a great bonus as well. We had zero issues. Linda met us at time of check in and was very friendly and accommodating and checked on us throughout our stay. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next lake trip!

We came to the Finger Lakes for 5 days to spend time with family staying at a close by rental as well as get in some golfing. My Boyfriend and Dog, Max, really liked Katya's home. The entire home was spotless and very comfortable. We loved spending time on the deck and in the hot tub after golfing. Everything we needed was there for us as well as nice extras like soft robes. The surroundings are very peaceful. We didn't get to hike the property because the trail (or at least what we could see on the other side of the gate was rather overgrown - but Katya did warn us about that). This is a very dog friendly property and the fence was of great comfort. Thank you Katya for sharing your home!

A great location with plenty of space, well-stocked kitchen and good game selection. There were also lots of extra blankets which my children and I appreciated. A wonderful experience all around!

We enjoyed Memorial Day weekend 2025 with our 3 daughters (20, 23, & 25). The weather wasn’t very cooperative for lake fun until the last day but Charles let us stay into the afternoon so that we could enjoy the lake a bit. During the weekend he had great recommendations as well. The house was very comfortable and we made great family memories cooking, playing games, watching tv and listening to music.

Cozy home with beautiful views, we rented a boat and were able to dock it at the house for a bit! The large window facing the lake made sitting in the living room/Dinning room was so enjoyable. There is one AC unit that cooled the main house down but the Bedrooms got a little warm- we had to keep the doors open to get air in them. The beds are comfy but they rooms are small and right next to each other. It was just my Fiancé and I but would have been a little too tight with another couple with us. Hammondsport was a lovely town nearby with good spots for Dinner, Lunch and Breakfast. TJs Coffee and Bagels was delicious for breakfast and Park Inn was our favorite restaurant for Dinner. Loved our stay and will be back!

We had a great week. the location and lake access was flawless, and the house was comfortable and a very workable kitchen. The best surprise was great mattresses, I have a bad back and they were perfect. Can't wait to go back.

nice environment very quiet mostly. I greatly enjoyed sitting next to the water and drinking my coffee while listening to birds. also there are alot of fish if you enjoy fishing. The kayaks and fire wood are an excellent touch. We spent most of our time out sight seeing but we did use the fire pit and kayaks the little peddle boat was amusing. The bed is very comfy. if you stay here make the drive over to Robert H. Treman State Park it's the most beautiful park!

Highly recommended! We were in the middle of transition, we rented this place for long term stay, and it was the best decision ever made. They are great hosts, Cody very responsive and helpful, who we mainly communicated with, and even when we needed to extend, David was very accommodating. The place is very clean, comfortable, felt like home. Whether you need this place short or long term, I high recommend it. Thank you hosting us :)

Perfect week at the cottage/lake! It’s as described and simple but when you vacation at the lake, simple is all you need! We enjoyed dinners out on the deck, bonfires and swam every day - really couldn’t beat it!

The cottage is exactly as described and the setup for a family is ideal. The backyard, front porch and easy, level walk to the beach are perfect. The shoreline is great for kids to enter the water and the dock allowed us to feed the ducks and watch the boats go by. Our three-year old and six-year old granddaughters had so much fun. We know they'll remember this exciting lake vacation. The hosts are delightful and easy to contact. Nancy greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the cottage and lakeshore. The neighborhood is quiet and neighbors are friendly. Speed bumps along this cottage road maintain a very slow speed for vehicles and we rarely saw any vehicles. We had easy access from the cottage to the shore...a short walk. Beds are comfy and a variety of sizes. Two bathrooms a plus. More than adequate linens and towels. And the kitchen is very well stocked with all that is needed to cook and bake. In addition to a large dining table, two round tables and a picnic table are in the backyard and all three have umbrellas over them. The backyard provided lots of fun and safety for our grandchildren and our dog. We had a few meals out at good restaurants and grocery stores are convenient. We also visited several interesting ice cream places. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Had SUCH a good time here, highly recommend! One thing - make sure you bring drinkable water with you, since the instructions inside the AirBnb say not to drink from the faucet.

We had a great time at the cabin! There were 5 of us girls and we all were comfortable with plenty of space. It was an unusually cold weekend for May when I wished we would have had some heat but there were plenty of blankets to help keep us warm. Michelle also was very responsive and even had someone drop off a sponge for us when I told her we couldn’t find one in the kitchen. Would love to go back!

Our stay at Debbie's cottage was amazing! The pictures do not do the view justice. The sunroom is the perfect place to relax. It's everything you would want in a lake getaway! The cottage was very, very clean. Debbie was great at communication and letting us know when roads were closed due to a storm. I would 100% recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a lake getaway. Swimming near the dock was great because it's very clear and no seaweed! I hope we get to visit again sometime because it was a perfect stay!

Our stay at Jenilee's cottage was awesome! Clean and friendly atmosphere! Right on the lake for water fun and fishing! Highly recommend!

Hosts were very responsive and welcoming. Loon lake was very peaceful and relaxing. We truly enjoyed out stay!

Excelllent location conveniently just a couple minutes off the main road but very quiet and secluded. House was large and spacious with a modern kitchens and well stocked with gadgets and tableware. No issues with electric service or internet. Literally very few insects. The area is beautiful and the lake very clean. We will definitely visit again.

This lake house comfortably fit four people for a weekend trip. Both of our vehicles could park easily, and then there are 73 steps down from the road to the house/water but for my group, that was fine! The lake house itself is so comfortable with a beautiful porch right on the water. The house felt safe and private, and there were no issues with check-in or with the neighbors thanks to a shady tree that offers additional privacy. It was rainy/cold, so we didn’t swim but we’d love to come back in warmer weather to spend some time. Tons of bird watching and boats that come by so that’s entertaining, and you’re nearby Penn Yan and Geneva for coffee shops and restaurants. The lake house had plenty of pillows and bedding, comfy beds, stocked kitchen, fans provided. My friends and I played board games and listened to music, ate charcuterie and drank some wine and it was a lovely weekend 🌞 🌧️ 🍷 🚤 🐦 ☕️

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lake cottage. Everything was just as described and just like the pictures. We loved enjoying our morning coffee or evening glass of wine sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. We took day trips to local wineries and hiking trails at beautiful state parks. The neighboring cottages are close by but quiet and we had plenty of privacy even when sitting outside. Please know that you will be at least 20min. from grocery stores, gas stations, and other amenities but we are familiar with the area and knew that beforehand. We prefer it that way! The hosts provided a great guide with links to local attractions and things to do and see in the area. But we also enjoyed some days where we never left the cottage and just enjoyed the quiet solitude of the lake. Water pressure was great and we were super comfortable even in the middle of August with one window a/c and more than enough fans. This is a fantastic place to stay; you won't be sorry!
