Vacation rentals with a fire pit in St. Joseph Island

I shared this house with my sister & her husband with our 4 children and it was perfect (ages 4 years to 2 months). Very clean, as shown in the pictures and very safe environment. If we need to go back again, we will be booking this house as it was very large spacious for hosting other family members for dinner & fit our families! No TV in the living room, but there is one in each of the bedrooms (but this just encouraged us to play cards and board games)! I recommend Bringing your own cards & board games, as I don’t believe there are any at the house (we couldn’t find them at least)! Otherwise, everything was perfect! Very grateful to have this house to bring our family back together from Niagara and New Brunswick!

We had to cancel our trip last minute due to health concerns and heavy smoke from Canada. Jake was very responsive to messages and understanding of our health concerns. They were supportive and very professional in all communication and I hope to visit their listing later in the year. I have never had to cancel a reservation and deeply appreciate their understanding and respectful communication during our decision.

Julia's home was great! Will be looking for this place again when I'm back in the area!

Glen and Sonja have a beautiful home to accommodate lots of guests. Beds are comfortable and everything was very clean. Loved the sun porch with the evening sun and the upstairs balcony for afternoons. Lots of outdoor furniture and chairs to accommodate company. Would stay here again for large gatherings.

I've been coming to Howard's cabin with friends for 5 years now. The place is always great and Howard is very helpful! We hope to be back again next year!

Second year in a row I've stayed at Steve's place. Best AirBNB in the area for me to fish the Les Chenneaux Islands and Raber area. Plenty of room to park my truck and boat. House is super clean. Has all the amenities. Quite and peaceful. Goetzville Tavern is a 5 minute walk up the road. Steve recommended it. Just opened. Has Great Food! Steve is a great host. Quick to respond if any issures arise. Will be booking there next year too

Glad we chose to stay here for a little family get together for the weekend. House was perfect for kids. Lots of things for them to do to keep the fun going. Plenty of sleeping rooms and beds. The house is absolutely beautiful, we were sad when it came time to leave. We didn’t want to. We all already agreed we want to stay there again for longer next time. Thanks again Tammy!!

We had another stay booked that didn’t meet expectations. Found Allen’s place and it was perfect. This place has everything anyone staying would need. They have everything you can think of extras of everything you cannot think of. Great stay and wonderful hospitality.

Our stay was comfortable. During the night, there was an unexpected accident—my child had a nosebleed (a first for us) on the bed. I reached out to Ryan, and he responded with such kindness and understanding. He assured us not to worry and mentioned that he already planned to replace the queen bedding, which we had found to be very clean and new. We really appreciated his thoughtful and supportive response—it made a stressful moment much easier to handle. Thank you, Ryan, for being such a considerate host!

Natalie’s place is a great spot in Hilton beach, amazing views and a comfortable stay. Close to all the ‘action’. Natalie is a great communicator and host.

My son, daughter in law and I stayed at Cabin 3 in the Lorelei Cabins in Hessel, MI from May 15-19, 2025. The cabin is clean, cozy and looks exactly like the photos. We especially enjoyed the second floor with the large window overlooking Hessel Bay. The kitchen is well stocked, although we ate most meals out since it is walking distance to restaurants. A real plus was having two bathrooms (one full with shower and one half bath next to the main bedroom). I would say the only thing I didn’t enjoy was the water quality - I’m just not used to well water. Just buy bottled water to drink & for coffee and tea - problem solved! The location was perfect for our plans - kayaking and hiking. If we return to the eastern UP in the future we will definitely stay here again.

Between the cabin that i had, and the northern landscape around the surrounding Thessalon area its probable one of the nicest places ive stayed. The lake is warm and crystal clear. Robin and her staff were the perfect hosts. If you stay at Northern Skies, i would also suggest you take the drive along 129 to Champleau. You will not want to miss that. Rae’s place was one of a kind. Perfect to enjoy quality time with the family. We loved the private beach area. And certainly had a lot of fun in the water with the canoe and kayaks. Rae was very attentive and went out of her way to help us find a vet in the area to see our puppy. Everyone in the island was super friendly. I recommend Ends Trail if you are looking for a place to relax and truly disconnect from everything.

Karin, Opie (our dog), and I had a very nice stay at Mackinac Vista. The house was comfortable, with peaceful surroundings just beyond the back deck. We were able to watch a quiet sunset over Lake Huron, which made for a pleasant evening. The beach behind the yard is rocky and secluded—perfect for a quiet retreat. Be sure to bring your rock painting supplies, as the cabin features a collection of painted rocks left by past guests. Although we didn't take advantage of it, the fire pit and outdoor furniture made it easy to enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting. I also took advantage of the many mountain and road biking opportunities in the area. The grocery store in nearby Cedarville was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay.

Had a great relaxing girls weekend. Would definitely come back in the future!

Ryan’s cottage was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The cottage had everything you needed for a weekend or longer getaway! The cottage has a full kitchen and a full bathroom. Everything is updated and the furnishings are comfortable and attractive! The cottage is so clean and organized. The view from the cottage is just lovely. Loved our stay there!
