Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Southern France

What a gem of a place and hosts! We traveled to quite a few places during our 2.5 week trip through Europe, and this was by far our favorite stay. Located in the Luberon Valley in the medieval town of Ménerbes, Provence, you only had to look outside of your window to see the vibrant purple shades of the blooming summer lavenders and lavandines. The stay was well appointed with everything you’d need, and the private courtyard provided breathtaking views of the valleys and nearby mountains. The town and stay are rich in history - you’ll enjoy learning about it from hosts Maria and Francois, who are absolutely delightful. A beautiful breakfast of local fresh fruits, pastries, eggs and yogurt was provided, which gave us enough fuel for a long day of walking and sightseeing. My favorite part of it all were the conversations we had with Maria and Francois over breakfast - they’re quite charming and funny; we exchanged stories of our lives and travels. Highly recommend this stay!

An old house of great character with comfortable sitting room and well-equipped but old style farm kitchen. The shaded terrace was excellent for meals outside and the patio in front of the living room’s French doors was great for breakfast in the sun. The setting and scenery are absolutely beautiful and it is possible to do great walks right from the door. Our dog, Jim, was in his element. The house is well located for numerous walks including the Gorges d’Heric and circuits above Olargues and Saint Pons de Thomiere. A car is essential. There is no local shopping but there are supermarkets in Bedarieux and Saint Pons, not too far away. We enjoyed the restaurant ‘le lézard bleu which is close by in Vieussan. Lydia is a very friendly, welcoming and helpful host. An excellent stay we hope to return.

Nach ein paar trubeligen Tagen in Nizza genau das, was wir gesucht haben. Ein tolles Haus mit einem traumhaften Pool in einer schönen Umgebung. Tagsüber konnten wir gut entspannen, etwas leckeres grillen und am Abend dann haben wir St. Tropez besucht. Karine hat einen ausgezeichneten Geschmack und das Haus sowohl liebevoll eingerichtet als auch alles toll und geschmackvoll dekoriert... man hat sich sofort zu Hause gefühlt. Es gibt einen schönen Strand direkt fußläufig, unbedingt die Fahrräder mitbringen, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Tolle Fahrradwege entlang der Küste. Karine hat wertvolle Restaurant-Tipps direkt nach Ankunft gesendet. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen. Vielen Dank.

Where can we start - if there were 6 stars we would be giving Amanda that. Amanda’s place is phenomenal and relaxing and beautiful. Amanda felt like family immediately, she is kind and accomodating and made our stay perfect and very special. She is incredibly generous with her time and resources. We will miss her and the property and the beautiful animals. If you get the opportunity to come here you are truely blessed. We can’t wait to come back xxx

Silvia's flat in the Vila de Gracia neighborhood was perfect in location, and perfect quiet neighborhood feel. First of all, she was very sweet and personally greeted us, gave us instructions on how all the amenities worked, and left us a great little list of local places to eat. We took advantage, and the two places we tried were great! If we stayed longer, we would have had the time to try all her recs. Second, the eclectic style of her place was just great, especially for my two daughters. They both loved it. The backyard patio was beautiful. Like many Spanish style homes, out in the street, it doesn't look like anything. Just a door and maybe a window out front. But once you go inside, it opens up, usually with a beautiful tropical/lush garden out back. We really enjoyed her personal interior decoration style. Third, it was very centrally located for our needs. We focused on visiting Casa Batllo, and the Sagrada as we has a short stay. And it was perfect for walking to them.

The outside areas of the property are as comfortable as the inside. All the rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for preparing meals. There is every piece of equipment you would need. There was plenty of hot water and the fire was a lovely addition for chilly evenings. There are also lots of kitchen supplies to get you started or bathroom necessities in case you forgotten anything. The garden isn't fenced but this didn’t cause us any issues with our dogs. The protection dogs across the road are secured behind fences and didnt cause us any problems. We found them very friendly once you'd be there for a couple of days. We would definitely recommend staying here, Valerie is delightful.

Pictures of the terrace can’t possibly reflect how fabulous it is. Same for the primary bathroom views. And it’s all very private. Parking is easier than we expected—5 min walk to public parking—buy a monthly pass for 20 Euros, and you’re all set (thanks to Rogier for giving us that tip!). Gordes provides easy access to all of the villages of Provence. Definitely a 5-star stay and a 5-star experience.

Magnifique emplacement surplombant directement la mer plage à 1 minute. Piscine eau de mer très agréable, très grande terrasse, jardin ombragé, bbq, four à pizzas. Commerces et restaurants à proximité, vieux port accessible avec la navette maritime depuis le port de Pointe Rouge. Le cabanon est agréable, vue sur mer incroyable depuis la cuisine/salon. Livres sur l'histoire du coin et les calanques. Grande chambre principale avec rangements. chambre enfants ok avec lit superposés. Roland est de très bon conseil et très sympa, il nous a prêté un paddle, serviettes de plage etc! on reviendra

Due to personal circumstances we had to rearrange this holiday 2 times, of which Remy was very understanding. We booked the villa based on how well the photos looked but were really not ready for just how much better the place was in reality! Le Magnanerie is tucked quietly away in a totally idyllic spot in a gorgeous old French hamlet, boasting the most impressive westerly views across the private pool of the Cévennes, with stunning sunsets. The covered outside area is spacious and perfect to escape the direct summer sun, and the thick stone building is naturally cool. Comfortably set over 3 pretty floors with portable air conditioning in the loft bedroom area. Kids bunk beds are perfectly placed and even though everything is wooden, nothing creaks. Local agent Deborah was very helpful and after driving from the UK, we were pleasantly surprised to have had our best family holiday to date here! We rarely return to holiday destinations, however we will certainly be coming back. Merci

Un écrin de verdure en pleine ville! Un coin paisible et privé qui répondait parfaitement à la description, aux photos et qui accepte les chiens! Un accueil impeccable, de très bons conseils et de la discrétion. Planche apéritive gourmande et pleine de belles découvertes régionales. Les petits déjeunes proposés sont variés et délicieux! Nous recommandons à 100% pour un séjour de totale déconnection à l’écart des pièges touristiques. Merci à vous!

We were warmly greeted by Alain and Clair on arrival – they couldn’t have been more welcoming, and their kindness really set the tone for our stay. The setting was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful, a real escape from the hustle and bustle. The highlight for us was sitting and looking out at the river and waterfall right next to the property – the view was stunning and the sound of the water was so soothing. We left feeling completely relaxed and recharged. Highly recommended!

We LOVED our stay at Nathalie's lovely home, nestled among the vineyards. Exactly as advertised, if not better, it was a beautiful home, nicely decorated and both spacious and cozy. The beds were comfortable - important when staying as long as we did - and we had all the modern amenities we needed in this very old "castle". We had no trouble getting Ubers/taxis into Bordeaux proper when we needed to and it was nice to enjoy the peace and quiet of the location. Even better than the house itself, Nathalie was a very gracious, extremely helpful host. She helped us arrange a chef to cook for us on our first night there and even selected an array of wines to go along with our meal. She was very responsive leading up to our stay and throughout. If you want a relaxing and luxurious stay near Bordeaux, definitely book this location. I hope to come back!

Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage auf Maries Colettes Anwesen! Die Wohnung ist genauso wie auf den Bildern – geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das gesamte Areal mit den Olivenbäumen ist wunderschön mit viel Liebe zum Detail angelegt. Die Lage ist ideal, um Ausflüge in die Umgebung zu machen, und tagsüber und abends lässt es sich wunderbar auf der Terrasse entspannen. Der Pool war bei dem warmen Wetter perfekt zur Abkühlung. Insgesamt eine rundum tolle Erfahrung, wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt und durch Ihre Hilfsbereitschaft hat sie uns das Ankommen leicht gemacht – auch unser Hund hat sich wohlgefühlt und hatte mit Zaza eine tolle Zeit. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Vielen Dank, Marie Colette!

Fantastische Aussicht & Architektur! Wer das Besondere liebt ist hier genau richtig, die liebevoll restaurierte Kapelle wurde von innen modern und stilsicher gestaltet, der Architekturinteressierte findet an jeder Ecke ein schönes Detail. Der Pool auf dem Fels ist sensationell und nicht mit Worten zu beschreiben. Michele und Adrian sind sehr hilfsbereite Gastgeber, sie haben die Kapelle selbst umgebaut und wissen viel über ihre Geschichte. Es gibt zwei gute Restaurants im Ort und viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten sind mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

What a special place! The house is fully equipped, particularly the kitchen and the living room have all amenities you could imagine. The view is incredible, the outdoor space is gorgeous, the plants are very well kept and the terrace is very spacious. Very clean indoors and outdoors! We enjoyed the projector with the Dolby surround system on the rainy days. There were not many options to eat out or buy groceries/bread within walking distance, so some driving is needed. Marc was also very helpful and fast to respond when we had some issues with the home automation. Overall a wonderful place we hope to come back to again.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans ce logement. Le cadre est idyllique et le logement très propre. Rien à dire à part superbe. La déco est faite avec goût et le logement est très bien situé !

Our stay at the beautifully renovated and well appointed stone gîte was very pleasant. It is surrounded by extensive gardens including a clean and private pool .Sean and Bridget gave us a warm welcome and provided us with recommendation for places to go and things to do. What a great place to relax and enjoy the Périgord countryside.

Serge’s place is amazing. We spent a lovely 10 days there in May and it was exactly what we were looking for. It’s walking distance into the village which has everything you need, and the place itself is clean, well appointed and in a beautiful setting with its own lake. Serge was so responsive and kind to us during the stay too - he went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed ourselves!

This apartment is so big, you feel like you’re in a pent house suite. We loved this place. We were able to cook some meals in the kitchen, the deck is beautiful. We were nervous about the drive and parking. Parking was fine, no issues. Yes it is a tight squeeze - but it’s Italy, driving in general is a tight squeeze. It’s easier than other reviews have made out to be. The accomodation is further up the hill and back from the town. The drive takes about 13 minutes. Not a scary drive, just a slow one with so many turns. We loved the location as it was already so busy in town that we felt like we got to escape the crowds. You would want a car here for sure. You can’t walk down to the town. And parking and driving around was easy, not as busy as you think it would be because everyone is taking ferry’s not driving. So we were able to drive down and park and go for dinner or breakfast easily. Highly recommend this place.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour avec des amis. La maison était parfaite , propre, au calme dans un quartier résidentiel et bien équipé. La terrasse était très agréable pour les repas et apéro. La maison est à 4 min en voiture du centre ville de Andernos ou l’on peux y louer des vélos pour faire des balades le long du bassin d’arcachon. L’entrée se fait de manière autonome. Je recommande.

Dieses Haus ist ein echter Traum. Die Einrichtung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet – besonders die Holzbalken, Natursteinwände und die stylischen Strohleuchten haben sofort für Urlaubsfeeling gesorgt. Draußen ist es genauso schön wie drinnen: Der Garten ist gepflegt, der Pool perfekt zum Abkühlen. Lage ist ruhig, aber nicht abgeschieden – man ist schnell im nächsten Ort, hat aber absolute Privatsphäre. Das Haus ist top ausgestattet und super sauber gewesen. Alles war genauso wie auf den Bildern – wenn nicht sogar besser. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!
