The cottage offers guests an unique opportunity to stay on a rustic working wine farm. It forms part of the farmstead of a historic wine farm, but has its own little garden with a view over vineyards. It is located on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, which makes it the ideal place to reside when exploring the many surrounding wineries and restaurants. The road may be a bit noisy, but most guests hear birds more often than they hear cars. The cottage was built in the 1980’s.

My place is in the heart of the Cape Winelands, in the picturesque town of Somerset West. Ideally located, only a scenic 20 min drive into the tourist town of Stellenbosch. 40 min to Cape Town CBD. 10 min to the beach. 1 hour to Hermanus (whale viewing and shark diving). Plenty of wine estates for tasting /meals (Lourensford & Vergelegen only 5 minutes away). Many hiking trails & MTB trails within walking/cycling distance. My place is good for couples , adventurers, business travelers.

Come and stay in our peaceful studio cottage high up on Helderberg Mountain surrounded by trees and hear the owls hooting as you fall asleep! Beautiful new cottage, with it's own deck and garden and stylishly furnished to meet your every need. And now with solar installed (April 2023) we have NO LOAD-SHEDDING! We've replaced the oven and hob with a fully gas stove so all appliances can be used during load shedding!

We booked for our Quality Director for a week long business trip, from checking in to checking out it was an absolute pleasure. We stayed here for 3 weeks, Magdel was the perfect host who made us feel so welcome, the bottle of wine and cheeseboard was a very special touch. the place is down a nice quiet street with private parking and private entrance to the property. Magdel arranged for a cleaner once a week, who done a great job, the whole apartment was well equipped and was home from home. Thank you for your hospitality Magdel, we would definitely be recommending this property as a great location for anyone wanting to visit Cape Town and experience 'real' South African living.

This getaway was just what we needed for a short break from the busyness of life! We particularly enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood, beautiful garden and friendly doggos that came to greet us. Loved the bathroom: modern, clean, spacious, big mirror, and extra light at the hand basin. Elmarie is very thoughtful and practical in what she makes available to her guests in the unit. We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach, with plenty of great coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. There are also several shopping complexes and malls in the area, and it’s an easy drive to Gordon’s Bay. The apartment itself is very secure with off-street parking and is well equipped with all the essentials and more. The bed was super comfortable, and everything was clean and cozy. Our host was friendly and helpful throughout. Highly recommend.
