Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage in quiet location

LisaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Wonderful cosy cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful peaceful surroundings, ten minute walk from the beach and close to many great places the Lakes has to offer. Margaret and her family were amazing with communication even down to letting us know about road closures on the day of our journey. We loved it here, would stay again and highly recommend.

With everything you need, close to beach and lakes

Had a lovely few days at Catbells. Wonderful hosts Jane and Wal really want you to have a good time and enjoy your break and gave us lots of interesting information when they came to meet us on arrival for a quick tour of the house and how everything works. A lovely message on the terrace and welcome pack were really appreciated. The bungalow is tastefully decorated, clean, warm and homely. It is very well equipped with lots of little extras that are very thoughtful. Great views from the kitchen and living room and lots of birds visiting the feeder in the morning at the back. The games shed is a must packed with all sorts of activities including darts and table tennis. Very short walk to the village, beach and train station. We did the coastal walk to Whitehaven and caught the train back. Great location for the lakes as well. Wish we had been able to stay longer as there was plenty more we could have done. Amazing home and hosts - would highly recommend.

Very clean comfortable quiet & picturesque location. We received informative information before arrival & Rachel wasn’t intrusive at all but we knew we would get help if needed & any problems would be sorted straight away. Our stay was perfect with even beautiful sunshine for the whole of our holiday.

The Place, Loweswater. Utter tranquillity.

ElizabethRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at The Place. The location is breathtaking, and the house itself is perfect - every detail is beautiful and well thought-out, and Lucy had provided anything one could think of. Everything was of very high quality, from the bed linen and towels to the kitchen equipment. We were all adults, but if you have children, there are lots of toys, games, and activities, so that even on rainy days, there is plenty to do. Great walks nearby, perfect both for those who like hills and those who prefer flatter ground - Buttermere and Crummock are wonderful low ground walks, and of course the walk though Holme Woods to the Kirkstile is lovely. Thanks, Lucy and Nick!
A winding road leads along the edge of a serene lake, flanked by rolling hills and mountains in the background. Lush green grass and a solitary tree are visible on the shoreline, contributing to the tranquil landscape under a clear blue sky.

This was a great base for tackling the Fells from the Wasdale Valley. Good food and beer in the Strands Inn. Recommended.
