Alba was the perfect host and looked after us so very well. Of note: the Calabrian eggs for breakfast were delicious. The balcony area was the perfect place to relax and enjoy watching the ocean life of Scilla.

I am almost reluctant to write a review, because I have already become a very happy part of the whole in just one month. If you read all the descriptions, you'll have a very accurate picture of what to expect. (It's nicer than in the photos!) An almost absurdly large 360-degree terrace allows you to merge with the sea and with the magical Aspromonte mountain range, which would not be enough to explore in 1 year. The hospitality of Saverio and his entire family is unsurpassed ; You are invited to become a friend of yours, of the place. In addition, the location is perfect for exploring the entire south of , may I say; true Italy and that far away from the big tourist crowds ! The little house is just minutes from Gambarie on the Rumia pond. Upon arrival we found the owners waiting for us to check in , the house is perfectly clean and equipped with everything you need. Also at check-out, Mrs. Maria Carmela and her husband Antonio came by to greet us in person, we felt at home. Highly recommended!

Carmela's place was the most modern and spacious place we have stayed at in Southern Italy. It is a mere steps away from the sea, at the bottom of the cliffs, along a cobblestone paved street. The unit has the modern comforts of a more commercial lodging accommodation, but is in a fantastic location in Scilla. Carmela was extremely helpful in guiding us to find parking so we didn't have to pay for parking and didn't drive directly to the unit on very narrow streets. Carmela had some snacks and a bottle of water waiting for us, which was a nice touch. We only had 1 night in Scilla, which we regretted as this charming village deserved at least another night.
