Check in was extremely easy with a lockbox and the host was extremely responsive and helpful. Apartment was spotlessly clean, absolutely huge and the view from the balcony was simply stunning. It was well equipped with everything you need. It was very centrally located, right on the main strip above the restaurants / bars with great transport links, the bus stops and ferries to get around the island were only a couple of minutes walk away. Just to note that due to both the central location and the fact that there was construction work next door (they are building a new block of apartments), there is a lot of noise, especially late at night and early in the morning. This didn’t bother us (we have two small children and were up at 7am anyway), but something to be mindful of if you like a lie in!

We had a lovely stay in Sliema in the apartment, ideally located close to the boat to get across to Valletta. The apartment has a gorgeous balcony where we spent some lovely evenings watching the sun go down. A truly stunning view of Valletta across the water. The apartment was fantastic, the only downside was the master bedroom didn’t have a functioning blind, meaning we were exposed to the surrounding apartment blocks which overlook the apartment. The room lacked privacy. We reported this to the hosts who were communicative and pleasant but didn’t manage to get this sorted during our four night stay. We never met the hosts as it’s a self check-in. But anyway, it was a small dampener on an otherwise lovely stay.

George , our wonderful host, was always pro active and available when needed. He even provided an umbrella! George was outgoing and friendly , yet diplomatic - something important in a shared apartment situation like this one. The apartment is huge at 3000+ sqft and he maintains a completely separate and private space including a kitchen . We hardly saw him and when we did , he was always conscious about our privacy . Anyone having second thoughts to this shared apartment issue - even at this price - should consider the apartment anyway. It is truly one of a kind ! Better suited to a “House Beautiful” description - which still would not do it any justice . The home belongs in Architectural Digest ( due to his daughter being an architect and his wife Kira being a very talented interior designer). The apartment is breathtaking with a huge ocean view balcony. The larger of the 2 bedrooms has a small patio but can’t be locked. A small safe is provided. We loved it. Thank u George!

Our stay at Marchese’s place was amazing. The apartment is beautiful, spacious, and has amazing views. I’d highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay in Valletta - the apartment is in a fantastic location with it being only a few minutes walk from lots of bars, shops & restaurants. There are some aspects of the apartment that need refreshing/touching up but overall the apartment is clean and well kept and matches the photos and description on the listing. I had to contact Airbnb as I didn’t have any check in details or the exact address of the apartment which was quite stressful when we were due to land in Malta in less than 24 hours time, but they managed to get hold of the host and I received the details. If you are a light sleeper I would definitely recommend bringing some ear plugs as there are lots of church bells in the area!
