Vacation rentals with a fireplace in San José Province

Nos encantó este lugar. Sumamente espacioso y cómodo. Los cuartos son bastante amplios. Muy limpio y moderno, los espacios muy cuidados con detalles desde las tortillas, hasta los juegos de mesa. Hicimos pizzas a la parrilla y el Airbnb tuvo todo lo que necesitábamos. El deck es super lindo y pasamos una tarde hermosa con una vista espectacular. El lugar es muy privado y tranquilo.

La casa tiene todas las comodidades que uno necesita, con una hermosa ubicación y vista La casa super limpia amplia todo en excelente estado a mi familia y a mí nos encanto un lugar lleno de paz y relajante nos sentimos muy cómodos !! Y los anfitriones super atentos a cualquier cosa q necesitáramos muy amables !! 😃

Wow, this place was absolutely magical. We were so grateful to have stayed in such a gorgeous home for 6 nights and have the chance to see 2 different types of toucans, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and coatis all on the property. The location and home were secure, clean, and impressive. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well, showers werea dream. In the pictures, the Whale's Tail looked like it would be hard to see, but the actual view of Uvita and the Whale's Tail is pretty incredible and much closer than expected. We have been to Costa Rica a couple of times now and choose homes higher up in the jungle for the privacy and view, but I will say this house is UP THERE. There's no way a non-4x4 car would make it up. It was quite the ride, and did take us longer than google maps said to expect. Even with the drive, this place is where you want to be. Couldn't have been better. Diana, Roberto and team were also amazing to work with, friendly, and very responsive.

Communication with the host was excellent. Very helpful and responsive. The cabin was great. Kitchen well stocked. Bed was comfortable and the view was beautiful. Note that the 5:30 am morning sun comes in and the animals get up that early. If you want to sleep in, bring eye covers and ear plugs. We had a lovely breakfast on the porch looking at the volcano. Overall, it was a good stay.

I really enjoyed staying at Lorena’s cabin on the Rio Blanco: the river is absolutely gorgeous, the hike to river is beautiful and fun, and the home is beautiful and comfortable- didn’t even need any AC! The air flow was easy, not many bugs, and the air smelled so rich. We enjoyed the above ground pool - so cool after the car ride from the coast! Thank you, Lorena, for sharing your beautiful space with us: what a blessing!

A very comfortable, private and cozy place in a beautiful area with peaceful surroundings of nature, flowers and birds. My wife and I really enjoyed the fireplace and the porch was great for just sitting and relaxing. Also they have a nice Vivero with a large assortment of plants and the coffee is great. The hosts were very nice and responsive. Plan to return in the future to explore more of the area.

Absolutely stunning! The photos don’t do it justice. Isabel was an amazing host. She took her time to show us around the house and give us amazing recommendations for white water rafting and a chef to come to the house. I can’t wait to come back.

Cindy’s condo is the perfect retreat for a family, or for a group. It is incredibly spacious, with more room than the pictures can show. The view of San Jose was gorgeous day and night. The pool was public to the condo, and was heated. The drive Into San Jose was a touch longer than expected, but that was no biggie due to all of the other amenities. Lots of balcony space, on multiple levels have great indoor/outdoor experiences. Definitely would stay again.

The check is was very easy (having arrived late into the evening). The property was very clean and felt very homely. Leidy was very helpful and responded quickly! We would stay again

El lugar se ve mejor que en las fotos, el tiempo se disfrutó al máximo gracias a las salas temáticas que ofrece y muy importante, Pedro siempre se mantuvo presente y muy comunicativo. Recomendado al 100%.

This place was clean and comfortable. If you’re looking to go to the closest national park it’s about 30 minutes. Airbnb is about 20 min from airport. The host was super responsive. Some food spots across the street. Very tight security I love that. Uber is very accessible.

Its a fantastic place if you want to keep contact with nature, although is near to the capital mountain’s view and all atmosphere helps to enjoy everything!

Un lugar increíble para escaparse un rato y recargar energías, aire fresco y hermosa vista, es más impresionante en persona y Daniel es la persona que nos recibió muy amable y siempre estaba a la disposición de cualquier duda, excelente servicio nos la pasamos súper bien recomendados. Claramente tenemos que volver!

Todo muy limpio y ordenado, incluso tenía snacks y jugo de bienvenida, la cabaña es privada y con todo lo necesario para pasarlo bien, pantalla de buen tamaño, cocina equipada con varias especias para cocinar e incluso Jeannette nos ofreció información sobre restaurantes con envío a domicilio en el área para nuestra comodidad.

Es la segunda vez que nos quedamos en este alojamiento. Al ser 3 casas es muy cómodo para estar varias familias.

Wonderful hosts, and the gardens and grounds are stunning and peaceful! Easily accessible to the Toucan Rescue Ranch. A perfect place for our stay.

We just came back from a week in the beautiful rainforest villa…it was heaven on earth! What an absolutely gorgeous property. Comfy beds, wonderful space for 4 kids and four adults (could’ve fit another family too), daily macaw and toucan visits on the balcony, wonderful housekeeping and the best pool. From the moment we booked, Hazel reached out to help us seamlessly setup all transportation and activities. She was proactive, very communicative and had everything setup for us without issue. Jorge then met us at the home to welcome us and was available for anything we needed throughout the trip. Jorge and Hazel made our trip so easy and fun…thank you! We hope to return again in the near future…absolutely loved our trip!

A very peaceful, comfortable farm stay with nice cool weather in the mountains.

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

Our stay at this stunning home was nothing short of PERFECT! A huge thank you to Daniela, our incredible host, who went above and beyond to make our trip seamless. She graciously allowed our big crew (all 19 of us—kids included!) to check in early after our drive from Jaco and even helped coordinate airport transportation. Talk about hospitality! The house itself is absolute DREAMS—spacious, beautifully designed, and surrounded by breathtaking views that had us all swooning. We had more than enough room to spread out, cook family feasts in the fully equipped kitchen, and grill dinners under the stars. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. From morning coffees on the patio to late-night laughs in the living areas, every moment here felt magical. We’re already counting down the days until we can return! Thank you, Daniela and team, for a 5-star experience we’ll never forget! 🌟

We had a great stay in San Jose! The place was huge with lots of space! The pool table was a nice touch and was in good condition. When we arrived, Leo gave us a quick tour of the place and showed us how to use everything. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The location was close to the airport and also close to the city center. All the bedrooms had AC, however the main house did not. We left the windows opened which helped, but also attracted a few bugs. Overall, it wasn’t bad at all. We all had a great time and this place was a great place to wrap up our time in Costa Rica 😊

The house was very clean and comfortable and the view was better than the photos. It’s a bit of a drive to get here but if what you want is privacy, peace and spectacular then it’s worth the bumpy drive. The host was also super responsive and replied within minutes when we had questions.
