Beach house vacation rentals in San José Province

We had the loveliest time at this beachfront house. The pool is gorgeous - not too warm or cold. It was so refreshing to relax in the pool and stare at the waves. The house is in the best part of Esterillos, right in front of the “mermaid” and the tide pools. The house is well designed and makes use of all the spaces. It was clean and well equipped. You can also walk to the nearby store and there are a few good restaurants just a block or two away walking along the beach. It was an amazing place to share with family, we will be back!

Such an amazing house and location. The house is beautiful, the beds were all quite comfortable. Lots of space and bathrooms for many people. The outside garden, BBQ area and pool were so amazing, it was a nice place to spend the afternoon in some shade when the beach sun was too intense. The beach is spectacular, the local neighbours are so friendly, they always make sure you and your family stay safe and aware of tides and currentswhen you go to the beach. The melon/fruit truck that drives by is such a welcome bonus. I would have liked to see a little more up keep in the kitchen with cupboards hanging off hinges and no handle on the freezer and more cooking supplies (pots, pans, flippers). We had three adults and 4 children (1, 3, 9, and 11) everyone enjoyed the location and the house :) highly recommend. Danny and the team was also super responsive and very nice to deal with 😁

The listing is very clear, this is an open air house. If you’re not okay with a few bugs in the house, iguanas on the porch, frogs on the walkway, and having howler monkeys as an alarm clock then this place isn’t for you. For us- it was a little piece of Heaven. It’s a short walk to the beach and filled with flora, fauna, birds, and lizards. In other words, magical. I only wish we could have spent a few extra days here and brought gifts for the care takers. Hands down, my favorite Airbnb ever!

Beautiful home right on the beach with amazing host who was always right there to assist when needed. The home was immaculate and beds very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. The living room was a great relaxing spot and my favourite was the patio table overlooking the pool. We loved this home and you can tell the owner takes pride in hosting. We will be back at the first opportunity . Highly recommended. Thank you for an amazing few days!

Buena ubicación del lugar, seguro y tranquilo

We had a great stay at Suzanne’s place. The pool was even bigger than we thought it would be. The place was pristine and the design of the house was amazing. We enjoyed the walk to the beach and breakfast at Cafe Ensueño just a block or two away. We loved being able to still enjoy sitting outside in the covered living space when it rained in the evening. We saw a toucan from the pool which was a real treat and our two year old son loved hearing the howler monkeys in the morning. The supermarket next door was very convenient, though that and the nearby highway were sometimes noisy. But all in all we still found the stay to be very relaxing. Starting out the day with the outdoor (but private) shower was great. Suzanne was very communicative, flexible with check in, and had great recommendations for nearby restaurants and things to do. Náuyaca waterfalls are just 15 minutes from Suzanne’s place and were a highlight of our trip. We wish we could have stayed longer!

What a truly special place! I cannot say enough about Irina’s beautiful home. First, she and her team are incredibly professional and communicative from the day of booking, and I appreciated knowing how accessible they were should I need anything. I’ve stayed at many AirBNBs in the Uvita area over the years that are lovely, but this has by far been my favorite. It really has a very beautiful energy and every detail was thought of - it truly felt like a home-away-from-home for my trip and I can’t wait to visit again!

Jefferson is a great host with an amazing home. The home is so private and peaceful. We swam in the pool while watching monkeys swinging in the trees. It was the coolest experience ever. Jefferson was great and communicating and helped us with any questions we had leading up to our trip. His concierge team is also top notch. They helped us plan things to do throughout our trip, recommended some great restaurants, and communicated with us throughout the week to make sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better Airbnb to stay at, and will definitely be returning next time we make the trip to Costa Rica!

We found the location great: a small convenience store close by, good Mexican restaurant two blocks and beach four blocks away. Further: view restaurants 15-20’ in both directions; life-changing sanctuaries (Alturas) and wildlife preserves (Sierpe! Playa Tortuga!) 30-60’. Variety of surfing beaches from a walk to a drive away. Great couple renting boards right at the beach entrance so no need to carry them home. We loved the outdoor shower and especially the pool, heaven on a hot day or after a warm walk or hike. We loved taking an early morning “nature walk” to see monkeys and birds as they wake and look for breakfast. Real treats: Cherrie’s Tanagers, Morpho butterflies and especially the Howlers coming through the corridor next door at 4:45am. Tropical thunderstorms with frogs calling, enjoyed from the shelter of the terrace with lightning all around, rain splashing in the pool. The local Mercado with fabulous yogurt and smoothies, fruit and bread, Wed/Sat. House a sanctuary!

Casa de Paz was exactly as the listing described. Cynthia greeted us at the house, was thorough with giving us all of the info we needed including recommendations. There were many thoughtful touches inside and out. We truly felt like we were in paradise!

Stuart’s place was an ideal location for a private and peaceful getaway. The property itself had great amenities - especially the pool and the surrounding landscape. It was centrally located to bars, restaurants and beaches in Uvita and two neighboring towns - but far enough away to feel like we were in the middle of the jungle. Stuart was a great host. His place definitely made our vacation!

Like so many others have said, do not hesitate to book this! This destination is absolute paradise and the villa was fully equipped to make our vacation perfect. Perry, Paola and Flory are the most gracious hosts and provided a luxurious stay. Flory's breakfast is a must as well as dinner at the Supper Club. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds are very comfortable, the shampoo and conditioner provided are delightful. The beach is endless and the sunsets are magical. The pool was refreshing and the pool basketball hoop was a huge hit with our boys. We can't thank you enough for the special memories made at your villa!

This was one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. The property is incredible. Josh and Cheyenne were super helpful and responsive. Josh showed my kids the chicken coup and greeted us with fresh eggs. He also helped us change our flat which was much appreciated. The property is very clean, tastefully designed with an incredible view. Would highly recommend a four wheel drive and finding it is a bit tricky but Cheyenne guided us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have a hard time putting into words how magical this place was. When we first entered through to the deck, it didn’t even look real. From that deck with the lovely infinity pool we saw squirrel monkeys, a howler monkey, capuchin monkeys, toucans, scarlet tanagers, hummingbirds, macaws and more. Breakfast every morning was a huge perk and my younger sister in particular loved getting pancakes everyday. Just to note, there is still construction on what seems to be two nearby properties, but still an amazing stay (one of the fabric fences to block construction view is a favorite path of the squirrel monkeys though a side benefit)! Still a magical stay and a great way to celebrate my younger sister’s high school graduation.

This was the best part of our trip. So many monkey sounds with an incredible view. Our 4 year old loved the pool and the set up of the home was perfect for our family. We loved Lily the cat and Lorena was so helpful. All her recommendations were amazing! We loved the restaurant around the corner. She told us about the Rainmaker which ended up being our favorite stop.

prachtig huis, het was er zeer rustig en een wonder mooi uitzicht op de oceaan. Het zwembad was heerlijk om na te genieten na een heerlijke activiteit + mijn kinderen hebben op ons kort verblijf leren zwemmen. De bedden waar ook heerlijk en het huis was zeer netjes. De bewaker was ook heel vriendelijk en hulpvaardig. We hebben er een heerlijke tijd beleefd, een echte aanrader.

Our stay in Costa Rica was absolutely wonderful. The house was beautiful and perfectly located. We loved everything about it! The host was very friendly and accommodating. Waking up to the sound of birds every morning was incredible, and we saw scarlet macaws and iguanas daily. Overall, it was a perfect experience!

Had a great time! Was the perfect place for our family to spend a couple of days. Close to restaurants and the National Parque Ballena Marina.

Estuvimos en casa Chamana un fin de semana y la estadía no pudo ser mejor, la casa cuenta con todas las comodidades y una ubicación inmejorable, a pocos pasos de la playa. Definitivamente una casa con excelente energía. Uno se siente bienvenido por la atención que Casie ha puesto a los detalles. Cada espacio de la casa tiene absolutamente todo lo que uno necesita, desde repelente, té, aceite de oliva, un escritorio con artículos de oficina para trabajar tranquilamente, el aire en perfectas condiciones, luces para todos los momentos y necesidades, closets con muchas tohallas, ropa de cama, hasta agua embotellada (eso lo valoré muchísimo) y muchos detalles positivos más.
