Beach house vacation rentals in Costa Rica

We had the loveliest time at this beachfront house. The pool is gorgeous - not too warm or cold. It was so refreshing to relax in the pool and stare at the waves. The house is in the best part of Esterillos, right in front of the “mermaid” and the tide pools. The house is well designed and makes use of all the spaces. It was clean and well equipped. You can also walk to the nearby store and there are a few good restaurants just a block or two away walking along the beach. It was an amazing place to share with family, we will be back!

Great location, a short walk from the beach. Spacious bedrooms and living area. Maud is a very considerate and accommodating host.

The house and property were as described and expected and we were extremely happy with our stay! We were specifically looking for something outside of the typical tourist spots and Gary’s place did not disappoint. Gary specifically stated that the mosquito population at his house was low and he was absolutely right! Just a few tips and recommendations for other potential visitors. - The kayaks must be taken down the hill to the beach for each use for security reasons. We hesitated to use them until our last day for this reason but we wish we hadn’t. Gary made it very easy and he took them down on his car. It’s an easy paddle to some snorkeling and nice beach areas. You can avoid paying for parking and hauling gear. - there is a public road between the pool area and beach where locals like to park and hang out. Shrubbery gives visual privacy but you may hear music. This did not detract from our stay. Overall we absolutely recommend this house to others.

5 Stars – Best Airbnb I’ve Stayed In! This place was absolutely perfect! The location is excellent—just 50 yards from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient to enjoy the ocean every day. The home itself was spotless, with a beautiful pool and a well-equipped, modern kitchen. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Vidal was amazing—super helpful, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hands down, this is the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach getaway!

We stayed for four days and had the most amazing time. I had tears in my eyes saying goodbye to Emerita. She and Diogenes were wonderful hosts who helped us with any questions and pointed out a baby sloth that we never would have seen without her pointing it out. It’s truly a magical place, Déborah. Thank you for your timely responses, accurate description, and recommendations. For those considering—know thyself! If you freak out over bugs, this isn’t the place for you. It’s Pura Vida. My son, daughter , and I loved everything! Morning Mother’s Day walk solo on the beach was perfection. We will return!!!!

The Property keepers Jefferson and his mom were wonderful and kind! super sweet and always helpful. amazing fish tacos, recommend having them cook for you one night. soo good!! gorgeous property and so very enjoyable. felt it was prime location for things addy los suenos adventure park, Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos. Right in the middle with a relaxing place to go back to.

Wow, just wow. I visited with my elderly parents and brother, even though the stairs are a little steep (we knew this prior to booking), everyone was blown away by the experience, view and service provided by the property. Well worth it! Everything exceeded expectations. Definitely was an executive experience.

We loved our week stay in Playa Hermosa. The view is amazing and the house was the perfect size for us. We loved the gym, deck and pool. Ian was super helpful with scheduling activities. The best part of our stay was definitely having Rebecca come every morning and make us the best breakfasts ever! She is a superstar and even helped us with our Spanish. We will definitely return and would highly recommend visiting!

This Airbnb was amazing with a spectacular view. The house was well organized and clean. If you’re looking for a secluded stay with beautiful scenery then look no further. I loved the floor plan of the house and how the master bedroom, master bathroom and living room all had glass doors that could open to allow guest to view the backyard, mountains, and ocean. The only thing I would like to make future guest aware of is the road to the house. If you’re renting a vehicle make sure that it is four wheel drive and be prepared to handle the terrain. All in all 10/10 stay.

The Casa Vera Vista was a beautiful villa on the cliff side over looking the bay with the most beautiful sunsets. The villa was close to the beach and great restaurants plus a good starting point for many excursions. The concierge team was always there when we needed them throughout the entire trip as well as with planning prior to arriving. The house was very clean, decorated very tastefully and had comfortable beds. The daily cleaning service was very helpful with three kiddos in tow. We had two dinners and breakfast with the recommended chefs and they exceeded our expectations, with both delicious food and friendly company. Our driver Raudy was always on time, professional and was very helpful in getting around with our busy itinerary. We definitely did a lot on our trip (zip lining, deep sea fishing, ATVs, snorkeling, rainforest, waterfalls, hot springs etc) and staying at the villa with the concierge service made it that much more special. Just be aware that the roads in the area are all dirt and can be a bit rough, so make sure you have a car that can handle the terrain. Overall, a perfect blend of seclusion and access to everything you need. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely gorgeous place. A little bit longer of a drive from the closest airport than I initially expected but it was worth every second and I would do it again asap if I can! So beautiful, calm, private, very quiet. Me and my wife had the best honeymoon we could have asked for. Property manager judit was amazing, so kind and responsive and always helping/giving suggestions/making sure we had everything we need. So many good coffee shops, restaurants, and activities around, but also the house is so amazing sometimes we did not even want to leave! Highly highly recommend

Pictures do not do justice to the view from this property ! Host was amazing , recommend renting ATVs , host arranged for them to be delivered for us, we loved riding them into town , to the beaches and visited Montezuma and the tide pools. We look forward to renting this property again on our next visit to the area !

This is the most relaxed I have been in years. I’d stay a year if I could afford it. The sounds of nature just make it so easy to drift off to a nice sleep. The outside kitchen was not difficult to work with. Everything I needed was literally right there. The pool is perfect for relaxing in and is private. While I have a child, it was particularly nice to have a kid free atmosphere where you can just relax. There are so many things to do near by and Jim and his wife are lovely. Luna, the pup, is an absolute joy. I already miss it and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for your hospitality and the relaxing weekend. 🫶🏽

Camille and her mom are wonderful hosts. The house was like a beautiful dream. It smelled so good every time I entered. The pool was always clean. I saw many animals. We didn't want to leave, but we would definitely come back again with my family to stay longer. The nature, the animals, the birds—I was truly happy there. I recommend that future guests be aware that if the directions don't lead you past Flamingo Beach, you might be on the wrong path. It's better to take the longer route to be sure.

Casa Baru is a beautiful home and a perfect location for accessing the beach and many great restaurants. When we walked in the door my kids said, “This looks like a celebrity’s house!”. The outdoor space is beautiful and serene and indoors is spacious and comfortable. Juan was super responsive to any questions we had and he had great local recommendations for restaurants. I highly recommend this beautiful home and Juan as a host!

Wonderful stay - highly recommend! We absolutely loved our time at this property! The place exceeded our expectations, and the pool was definitely a highlight of our stay. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating - their flexibility made our trip so much smoother. The location is fantastic, though I’d recommend having a car to easily explore the surrounding area and get around. Despite needing transportation, the setting was perfect for what we were looking for. We’re already planning our return visit! This property is definitely going on our favorites list, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you to the hosts for such a memorable experience.

We had an amazing stay! This place was the perfect spot for a getaway with friends. The amenities were top-notch, everything was clean and well-maintained, and the view was absolutely stunning. We spent most of our time just soaking it all in. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay!

McKenzie’s place was amazing! It looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It’s a beautiful place in an extremely beautiful location. The private pool and patio were so nice to have. We also accessed the resort beach club, which was a five minute walk away. The hotel also coordinated a zipline adventure and we surfed and did a snorkeling trip while there also. The scarlet macaws were also gorgeous and came by numerous times a day. McKenzie was so helpful with any questions we had. She was extremely proactive in resolving one issue that came up very quickly and way beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend this villa.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. It is very private and peaceful with breathtaking views and the gentle sound of waves from the beach below. The house is quite spacious, attractive, and clean and we really appreciated the pool in the evenings after spending the days at the beach. Also loved the rooftop deck on clear nights for stargazing. The gardens around the house are magnificent. Santos, who planted everything at the house, gave us a tour of the various flowers, palms, and fruit trees including mangos and carambola, two favorites of my kids. He also guided us down the private path to the waterfall which was wonderful. Mireille is an amazing host and checked in with us regularly. Casa Marimango was everything I was hoping for and Montezuma was the perfect location. We hiked to nearby Playa Grande from the town and there were literally five other people at this amazing beach. Will definitely return to Montezuma and stay here again!
