Family-friendly vacation rentals in Salir de Matos

We had an amazing stay at Carlos' villa with our group of 13 adults and 3 babies. The villa is incredibly spacious, with 12 full beds and additional sleeping options on the comfortable couches. The large garden was perfect for the kids to play in, and we thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool and spacious, clean Jacuzzi. The kitchen was slightly used but very functional, offering plenty of room and every kitchen item we could possibly need to cook for our group. The barbecue area is large, though located a little far from the kitchen by the parking area. The rooftop terrace provided stunning 360° views, and the sunsets were simply beautiful. The villa is located in a peaceful, quiet area, just a short 10-minute walk to the beach, which we loved. While walking to the beach is easy, having a car is ideal for reaching larger supermarkets, which are about a 13-minute drive away. Parking offers plenty of space Overall, this villa was the perfect choice for our large group. Highly recommended!

From the communication, the equipment and the location… just fantastic for me as a surfer. Has everything you need, very good surf spots right outside the front door then relax in the hot tub on the roof terrace. Surrounded by fine restaurants, just awesome :) Definitely worth it!

Vladimirs place was exactly as described. The location was perfect - close to the main square in town and the beach. It was extremely clean and spacious for the three of us who were visiting. Would recommend and return.

This place is fabulous for larger family groups, the beach is literally on the doorstep, you don’t need to bring anything with you, the hosts have everything covered. Turn up and enjoy your stay!

The villa was amazing - beautiful location, spacious, very clean, modern, well equipped and well kept pool and grounds. We were a group of three couples and all enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and views of the vineyards. The villa exceeded our expectations and we'd love to return in the future. We loved this cozy place, best mix of carefully renovated rooms, handmade (wooden) bed and new furniture ! Lots of space in the kitchen, little balcony to enjoy sunsets. The Aldi nearby is super handy and the Airbnb is at walking distance to the beach and Town center. For surfing, as it was quite windy, we took the car to the other (more protected) site of the beach. The early Check-in and late check-out made our stay perfect!

Lovely stay, even lovelier host. Super friendly and responsive, and even sent a list of local recommendations for everything one could possibly need during a holiday. Would love to come back as it was such a special home and held spectacular views. Gorgeous vibes 🫶🏻🙏🏻

Although short, we enjoyed our stay, the house corresponded to the description, located in a pleasant space and close to main areas such as Mafra and Ericeira. We recommend it.

We had a great stay in extremely comfortable surroundings. Clean, spacious, well equipped. Fabulous swimming pool! Exiting the property a bit hazardous by car. The property is on a very busy main road and is a lorry route, you need two people to exit, one in the street as traffic flies by! A mirror situated so that you can see what is coming would be extremely helpful. The road is noisy but did not penetrate the house too much. Most shops, restaurants, etc are a short drive away. There is nowhere close enough on foot. Beds are comfortable but bed linen and towels are a little old and tired, they could do with replacing. Contacting the host during the week was problematical. Phone rings 3 times then changes to engaged tone. On one occasion all the electricity cut out, fortunately we were able to find the trip switches. We were aware that in an emergency we could not make immediate contact, a bit worrying. A minor point but as a party of 7, two sets of keys would have been helpful.

It's a perfect place! I highly recommend it if you want to spend quiet days close to many tourist places. The house is beautiful and very well organized. There is parking right in front and having access to the pool is ideal for a good vacation. Accommodation is 10/10

Elsa is a great Host, just like her incredible villa. From the booking, through the arrival to our departure, we were accompanied with kindness and benevolence throughout this experience. The house is ideal for hosting a large family, or groups. We had an extraordinary stay, in complete privacy, in this spacious and comfortable place. This beautifully updated traditional stone house exceeded our expectations in pretty much every way! It is quaint but with everything we needed for our 3-night stay, including good heat (which we used due to the chilly weather). We gave all 5s except one 4 because the house is right next to the road. The 18" thick walls in the house keep the noise to a minimum and the road is not busy at all, so no big deal. The host prepared a super-helpful booklet of nearby sights and restaurants that we referred to regularly (in both Portuguese and English). We can't recommend this place highly enough!

Jane was a terrific person to deal with as we planned our return visit to Foz for our anniversary. Very quick to respond to our queries and offer up suggestions for our trip. Very hands on about the booking, even though she doesn’t live in the local area. Thanks Jane!!

Functional, pleasant and spacious house. As described and photos. Host welcoming and responsive. There are no negative points. We had a great time. You can rent this house without hesitation. If we return to Portugal, no doubt we will try to rent this house again. There were 8 of us, 7 adults and a child. The pool is lovely. And the hosts are very welcoming. The bottle of wine offered on arrival is a plus that is very much appreciated.

Very nice dwelling in a peaceful village. We were warmly welcomed by Iolanda's grandmother. Iolanda was very responsive and was able to accommodate us for check-in and checkout. I recommend it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at this lovely quirky characterful villa. The welcome was fantastic with a table laid out with delicious foods by Adelia. The outside terraces around the pool are beautiful with stunning views and sunsets. We also made good use of the barbecue. We were there with 6 adults and 2 babies. There is literally nothing missing in the house, everything is catered for, even 2 highchairs! When we had an issue with the lack of hot water, our hosts responded promptly and things were resolved. We can highly recommend this lovely house. The local restaurant is also worth a visit where Susanna will cook up a storm.

Beautiful villa. Had everything we needed - 7 adults. Very quiet location. Small supermarket 10 minute walk, massive LeClerc 20 min drive. Beach walkable (think you might want a car if you have young kids). Have to pay extra for heating the pool and aircon. Host is excellent at responding to queries and has great suggestions for places to eat. We had a great week. Would recommend villa and host.

AMAZING! after a week of staying here we were sad we had to leave. Its a beautiful and peaceful place. Perfect to escape everything and really get to relax. The hosts and all the animals are lovely and very friendly. We didn’t have a car but with bolt it was super affordable to take trips to the beach and villages nearby. Definitely coming back and recommending this to everyone. 🫶
