Places to stay in Puddletown
A truly amazing floating tree house set in a spectacular private location in beautiful Dorset countryside. Tastefully decorated with everything you need for a cosy, romantic break. Mains power, heating, stereo, hot and cold water, outdoor toilet and showers. A basic kitchen with a double hob, and everything you need, a fire-pit, BBQ and a bed with far reaching views. Simply an incredible and unique space for a romantic getaway. You will need to bring bedding, towels, and charcoal.
Built in the trees on top of a bank with a great view. Peaceful, purposefully basic, but has everything you actually need, to have a cosy romantic time. We have uninstalled wifi so you can actually enjoy talking to each other and listening to music on the sound system, being in nature and de-stressing. Feel free to walk around the site and see deer and great woodland to enjoy. You are only 2 minutes drive away from shops and great pubs if you need anything. Please be aware the toilet is situated just outside of the Treehouse.
Beautiful, sunny Bournemouth is only a 20-minute drive away, Poole is only 10 minutes. There are plentiful walks and country pubs nearby to choose from, and we’re only 20 minutes from the scenic Jurassic coast. Monkey World is only 20 minutes away, which is a MUST! Our unique field is a great base that's within easy reach of numerous things to see and do.
  • Great stay! Was surprised to see other kinds of accommodation! Will definitely be back to try out something else! The double decker bus looks amazing! The only bad thing I can say is that the weather wasn’t great but we had everything we needed inside so didn’t dampen things to much!

  • Amazing stay! Me and my girlfriend came for her surprise birthday. The tree house just looks incredible as you park the car. And it is just like a Tardis. 'Bigger on the inside' with a working sink, fridge, working radio and heaters it was a cozy night in when the rain was pouring outside. There are plenty of board games to keep you busy and even chairs and tables outside. The site also has toilets and showers! Would recommend to anyone wanting a unique stay or a weekend away.

  • Highly recommend this place for a lovely romantic getaway! The structure is really cool and surprisingly spacious, the pictures dont do it justice! Everything you could need for a night and the space was really cosy. I was worried it would be cold as we went in January but there is a heater which does a great job at warming the space up. The space is nice and private and there are board games to keep you occupied! Perfect to just switch off. Would deffo reccomend!

  • Other reviewers have said it all! A really VERY good place and excellent value for money. From Pamela’s warm welcome to the many extra thoughtful touches and freebies (eggs and bread, milk, maps, mars bars, fruit, wine punch etc etc). Although we didn’t avail ourselves, there is even decent wine provided at cost price. The room is spacious and stylishly decorated, the shower room and kitchenette modern and well equipped. The futon bed is, well, a futon bed which therefore is pretty firm which will suit most but not all. Highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely, cosy stay in the Green Hut despite the stormy January weather. Good value for money and very well-situated for our desired aim of hiking the Jurassic coast and seeing the best of Dorset. Louise was very helpful, friendly and efficient.

    Susan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Despite staying in The Green Hut on the weekend of Storm Dennis(!), the hut was surprisingly warm and extremely cosy. We only managed to escape the hut for a couple of hours in the storm - just enough time to briefly explore Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove - but felt so at home from the moment we arrived!

    Shauna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Green Hut is gorgeous! Much bigger than the pictures show and a great venue for a cosy getaway. The weather was not great for us unfortunately so we spent a lot of time in the hut and we loved it. 100% recommend to all!

  • We stayed at Lisa's air bnb for a weekend work trip along with our toddler and two dogs. It is a converted building in the garden of her thatched cottage. The village is very sweet and the air bnb was perfect for our stay. Lisa's little touches were so thoughtful and made our stay even better. Lisa provided a travel cot and the room was very comfy. We ate in the local pub (white horse) on the Friday evening - they were very helpful and accommodating and the food was great. We visited RSPB Arne for work and the tank museum at Bovington - both were great visitor experiences and would highly recommend.

  • We had the most amazing stay at the eco Lodge. It had everything we could have wished for and more. The location was perfect and so peaceful and the lodge was so well decorated and comfortable. The bed was huge and you could look at the stars from the bed at night, the bath was perfect for relaxing with a book and it had a powerful rail fall shower too. We lit the fire and read our books and had the perfect getaway for our 8 year anniversary. Mervyn was a great host and added touches like a welcome basket with locally sorced produce which just made the stay that extra bit better. We can't wait to return in the future. Thankyou so much for having us!

    Jade2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most magical stay at the beautiful house with deers in front our bedroom windows every day. Surrounded by fields and forest and through the facilities to light a fire in the evenings, Mervyn’s place is perfect to unwind, relax, and to get inspired. We were almost glad it rained so much as we could use it for an excuse to stay. Thank you! Ana and Lucas

  • Oh my goodness what a marvellous stay we had! The tree house is so stunning - it has everything you could possible need for a relaxing weekend away. • We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for my husbands 40th birthday. I wanted to stay somewhere a little different and this was it. It was so much nicer than I was expecting and so much bigger. For us we had perfect weather, it was raining all weekend, and we just chilled and played board games and watched films. There is loads of books and board games for you to take advantage off. It was perfect for a weekend getaway from normal life. Mervyn was a wonderful host, always quick to answer any questions. We had a minor problem but it was sorted straight away and it wasn’t the fault of the owners, but it was dealt with professionally and quickly. There’s only 2 things I would change personally: 1) The hot tub was a downfall for us, took too long to heat so didn’t get to use it. I get that it’s eco friendly but wonder if there’s a better option rather than heating with fire? 2)The bedroom has a velux window, wonderful to watch the stars at night, but let’s lots of light in the morning, which some people like, but we personally like our bedroom dark. So I would suggest a blind so that you can choose if you want it bright in the morning or not. These are me being really picky as honestly here’s not a lot to complain about. I would definitely come back again! We loved it. Xxx

  • A lovely place for a break away. Even though the weather was horrendous we had a great time, cooking in the kitchen and playing board games by the roaring fire. Would love to come back in the summer and make use of the poop deck BBQ and get the hot tub fired up

  • If you are considering booking the Treetops Eco Lodge, do! It is a beautiful space - impossible to not switch off and thoroughly relax once you are in. We cant wait to return. Mervyn is a brilliant host and his commitment to guests enjoying their stay is clear to see.

  • The Tree House is wonderful, a really relaxing few days by the log fire in a very cute little village. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I hope I’ll be back again soon.

  • You need to book this place !! The excitement mounts as you climb the stairs. Once inside - Wow ! A great comfortable cozy stay awaits you. From the fully fitted kitchen to the wood burner to the massive comfy bed. You will not want to leave ! A hot tub with a cold beer staring at the stars takes some beating. Open the door to the wood from the bedroom and wait for the deer ! Mervyn is the perfect host too, on hand with any problems but very happy to leave us to it. Perfect break and recharge. Highly recommend !

We are really excited about our new conversion. It's a lovely, light yet cosy open space with a well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and a cool sleeping platform/mezzanine. Piddlehinton is a wonderful village, just 20 mins from the Jurassic Coast and 10 mins from Dorchester, in the renowned Piddle Valley, with the most beautiful walks, views and an award winning local pub. We're right next door if you need anything, but if you prefer your privacy, you are completely self contained.
This modern, airy, self contained living space has been lovingly converted by us, and we are proud to have had the help of our many wonderful local tradesmen and artisans! There is a a comfortable double bed upstairs on the mezzanine, with divan drawers for storage and space for luggage, whilst downstairs there is additional provision for a further 2 guests, if necessary, on our lovely new sofa bed. All linen is provided, including towels. Two wall heaters are plenty to keep you toasty, but if you want to get down and rustic, there is a brand new, fully tested and Co2 alarmed wood burner called Lydia! Hot water on tap... The modern bathroom has a great, Mira electric shower, a heated towel rail and has a “dressing room” off it, with hanging space, ironing board, drippy and a washing machine. The fully equipped kitchen comes complete with a dishwasher, cooker/hob, kettle, toaster and microwave as well as a small fridge freezer. If you need more freezer space, we have a chest freezer in our garage that you are more than welcome to use. All the basic kitchen bits and bobs, such as crockery, china, saucepans are provided for your use, but if you wish to be away from the kitchen, and prefer to eat out, there are so many good places to eat nearby, you'll be spoilt for choice! You have your own entrance, via a side gate, with a covered porch which provides a boot rack for the walkers amongst you, and this also leads to your own private outside garden area. A small sun trap – perfect for an early morning cup of coffee, or an evening cocktail! It provides a small table, chairs and a chiminea.
What can we say about Piddlehinton? It is truly a special village. friendly and beautifully Dorset. It has been our family home for 10 happy years. There are many things to do around the area - lovely walks, the most amazing pub and the County Town of Dorchester is only a ten minute drive away. Thomas Hardy's sister was the local school mistress here, so Hardy was a regular visitor to the village and school house. The village is steeped in history. There are lots of things going on in this vibrant community- a thriving village hall with regular activities and which can be hired out. It also boasts a beautiful 12th Century Church. The fabulous Thimble pub is 70 yards from the Yorkshireman (I know I've walked it more than once!) serving delicious food and a decent range of wine, beer and ciders The Millennium Green is a short stroll away and is a delightful place for children and families to enjoy by the banks of the River Piddle. There are many local footpaths to explore. Puddletown forest and Thorncombe Woods are 10 minutes drive away.  A little further afield, there are the popular resorts of Lyme Regis and the bustling, artisan Bridport. We have many varied beaches near us, ranging from quiet, undisturbed beaches such as Ringstead (14 miles), to the National Trust beauty of Studland ( 27 miles) with fun, family friendly Weymouth (14 miles) and the world famous Lulworth Cove in between! There really is a beach for everyone in Dorset, and we are no further than 1/2 hour from the very best of them!
  • We had a brilliant long weekend in this beautiful part of Dorset - Claire's place was perfect for what we were after; a quiet, outdoorsy weekend of coastal ramblings, pubs, a glass of red or two by the log burner and even fish & chips in the sun...unexpected for early March! The Yorkshireman is beautifully set-up for a couple's getaway - we ate out one night and cooked in the second as it's very equipped and we wanted a cosy night in. Although we didn't meet Claire in person, all communication was great and we felt very at home - and undisturbed! A perfect balance! Thank you for a great stay.

    Laetitia2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Yorkshireman was a fantastic place to stay, highly recommended. Very comfortable and really we could not think of anything that was missing. It lived up to to previous reviews and description. Very happy we hope to return at some point!

  • This place is really nice and clean. I can offer for anybody who want to spend a few days in a really amazing place.

  • A wonderful space to use as a base for our weekend exploring Dorset. Being within 30 minutes to all the main spots. It had everything we needed (a great kitchen space, super comfy bed) and had thoughtful little touches too. Would love to head back in the future.

    Georgina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with the perfect pub just a minutes walk away. Lovely wood burner, mezzanine bedroom was beautiful. Such a nice place for a break. One of the best finds on Airbnb

  • Absolutely gorgeous place Spotless, and with some very nice touches. Claire was very friendly, accommodating and gave some great local recommendations. We will definitely be back! We loved our stay.

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect home from home the Yorkshireman is. It’s a lovely space, stylish and modern, but very comfortable with thoughtful touches that made our stay very special. It’s located in a lovely little village with an amazing pub The Thimble Inn a short stroll away that shouldn’t be missed. It’s also ideally placed to visit all the wonderful sights Dorset has to offer like Durdle Door, Corfe Castle and Lulworth Cove.

    Zoe2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's place met all our expectations from the excellent reviews that we read before our stay. The space was very clean and Claire has all bases covered (coffee, milk, dishwasher tabs etc all provided). Piddlehinton is lovely and the pub over the road is excellent and does very good food. We had a great time walking, cycling and exploring the local area and would definitely recommend a stay in the Yorkshireman! Mark and Lisa

The Coach House was built in the early 1900's next to the Village Inn for the carriage and horses. It has been delightfully restored to provide self-catering accommodation for 4/5. Whilst looking traditional, with solid wood flooring, exposed beams, and a wooden staircase, it has the benefit of modern technology. The hub of the Coach House is the lounge/kitchen/diner with its cosy log burner, leather sofas, underfloor heating and wall hung flat screen TV.
Dewlish is a small rural village and is perfectly situated for exploring Dorset towns and the Jurassic coast. Attractions near by are Thomas Hardy cottage, Monkey World, the tank museum and Corfe Castle
  • Comfy, cosy, warm.

  • A lovely house, a great base for exploring the south coast. The place is nicely rural with empty lanes and farms nearby and a wonderful starlit dark sky.

    Lucy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I and our two dogs spent two nights at the Coach House in early January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Coach House is well-presented, comfortable and very cosy (especially with the wood-burning stove lit), and provided a perfect spot for exploring the area. Having a friendly and welcoming pub next door was ideal for evening meals and a drink without having to worry about driving. And the pub food was excellent. Roy was quick to respond to emails and to offer helpful advice. All in all, highly recommended.

Kennels Lodge is the perfect rural retreat for families and couples looking for modern creature comforts, in an idyllic countryside setting. 150 years ago the Squire of Puddletown built a lodge for his hounds, now converted by a leading architect into a wonderful home with panoramic views. There is only one house nearby, 100 yards behind the Lodge. The fenced garden is safe for children, and the house up a private track is a long way from the road, which is "The Rhododendron Mile".
The Kennels Lodge is set in rolling countryside, but not totally isolated as there is a single house some 100 yards behind, (the only house in sight) with lovely neighbours, discreet but helpful if needed. The house is full of light, most of the rooms have soaring ceilings and oak beams, and the huge 30 ft upstairs sitting room takes full advantage of the views with huge plate glass windows, but with wood burning stove & underfloor heating throughout, so you are always warm and cosy. All of the house is on the level, with wide corridor and no steps to negotiate, except for the stairs up to the sitting room! Comfortable armchair & TV in the kitchen/diner for less mobile guests. Large TV & video player upstairs. Music system compatible with NFC/DAB/Blue Tooth/digital radio. Professionally laundered bed linen, towels & beach towels provided, but please bring baby linen for the travel cot. We also have picnic gear, charcoal barbecue and fab outdoor seating & dining set. Plenty of children's toys and books, chess set, board games & large collection of books. A few basic foodstuffs, tea, coffee, milk, sauces, herbs & spices are supplied in the kitchen, and shampoo & shower gel in the bathrooms.
Our nearest village (5 mins drive/15 mins walk) is the charmingly named Puddletown. The local gastropub, The Blue Vinney, serves great food and has a play area and beer garden. The village also has a brilliant local shop, incorporating a butcher and post office. There's also a modern doctor's surgery and a brand new 'forest-fun' playground and recreation ground (including tennis court). The house is adjoining Puddletown Forest (3 minutes' walk) with a network of footpaths for great walks and mountain biking. We're in the heart of Hardy country, only 15 minutes from the stunning beaches of the Jurassic Coast, and even closer to several famous attractions such as Monkey World, Kingston Maurward Animal Park, Hardy's Cottage, and the Tank Museum. There is always masses to do in the area, especially for children. There are 3 golf courses nearby, 2 cinemas for rainy days and a lovely new pool and fitness centre in Dorchester.
  • Absolutely gorgeous house, acres of space and light, and great views! All super clean as well, with a really well equipped kitchen.

    Olivia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at Kennels Lodge. The house was perfect for 6 adults hoping for a relaxing few days. Stunning house in the middle of the Dorset countryside. Amazing space, lovely and clean with magnificent views. The house is tastefully decorated and we love the upstairs lounge which seated 6 comfortably. There's a really warmth feel about the house and we loved the open plan kitchen/ dining area. Crisp white sheets and comfortable beds in contemporary decorated rooms added to the charm. Great communication from Caroline the host.

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely house for a family stay. The views of farmland cows and horses from the upstairs lounge were wonderful even in the rain. Caroline is a very gracious host, who went out of her way to be helpful to us. Make sure you follow her very accurate directions to get there - Satnav not so helpful as it’s down a bumpy track in a field. Beautifully clean and well equipped- we will certainly go again.

    Andi2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay, so quiet and peaceful. I agree there were a lot of dead flies but it is in the countryside so not un-usual. Overall great communication, lovely place.

    Daniel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic accommodation offering peace and a lovely space to relax in, and not far from many of Dorset’s attractions. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • This is the most WONDERFUL cottage with the loveliest of hosts! We stayed for several weeks, and were blown away by the experience... Location: the cottage is nestled into the beautiful Piddle valley just ten minutes from Dorchester, and was the perfect place to stay. We particularly enjoyed walking the many footpaths and our kids loved the the nearby playground in Piddlehinton. House: the cottage is immaculate and characterful, with a wood burning stove and comfy sofas - it felt like home! Outside, there is spacious outside decking which catches the sun. Hosts: from our first day there we were so well looked after by Vanessa, with so many thoughtful and personal touches: a cake waiting for us on arrival, gifts of fresh garden produce throughout our stay, an extra heater when it was cold, an extra mattress for our young child. She went the extra mile. We would recommend this cottage to anyone! Thank you Vanessa!!

    Claire2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, quiet cottage that's within easy reach of everything Dorset has to offer. Delightful host. Nice clean, comfortable cottage. The hot-tub is highly recommended; worth paying extra for. And the sheep were very good neighbours.

    Jim2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant, Vanessa is the perfect hostess and the cottage suited our needs perfectly. Thank you, we are looking forward to our return trip in a few weeks.

  • Dear Vanessa, We want to say a BIG THANK YOU for the lovely barn we've enjoyed. All the advice you gave us was very helpful and by the way THANKS very much for the lovely cake and bottle of wine you left for us at the arrival. The surroundings are picturesque and peaceful and we've enjoyed the hot tub as well. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and family. It was very useful as well the fact that a lot of nice places were not very far from our place of accommodation. Thanks again

    Daniel2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a converted barn in the middle of nature, very quiet, which Vanessa has furnished with great attention to detail. Everything necessary for a pleasant stay was available, everything was very clean and lovingly designed. Only the short gravel road to the house was a bit habituation. There are chickens and sheep, which pleased my 12 year old niece. The location is good for exploring the Dorset area, also close to Stonehenge. Approximately 2 hours drive from London Heathrow Airport. The area is ideal for a nice holiday, in our case unfortunately only 1 week. The pub in Piddlehinton is also very cozy. We 3 adults and 1 child can recommend the cottage in any case!

    Robin2020-01-31T00:00:00Z

    Paul2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was fantastic. Very welcoming yet ensured I had plenty of privacy. The house is beautiful, and I had a room with access to the bathroom and her kitchen, which she had ensured was stocked with food and drink should I not have some myself. I had access to radiator controls in my room so I could set temperature to my liking, and she ensured I had extra blankets should I need as well. I couldn't recommend enough.

Although recently built, this building actually seems older than the farmhouse it's next to. With oak beamed roof trusses and stone walls inside and out there is a sense of permanence about this place. Shortlake Cottage is located just off a quiet no-through-road and looks out over fields to the coast beyond. As well as the views, the SW Coastpath is nearby for walks into Weymouth (3m) and Lulworth Cove (7m). Osmington village with The Sly Fox pub, and a couple of small shops, is about a 5 minutes walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 10 minutes or so across the fields.

Osmington village with The Sly Fox pub, and a couple of small shops, is about a 5 minutes walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 10 minutes or so across the fields.
The anexe is situated on farm track off a no through road, there is access to the beach.
  • Stellar property in an incredible location.

  • Beautiful place. Very quiet and close to the sea. Perfect place for relaxing break. Supermarket 5minutes drive and 20minutes from Durdle Door. Warm place even in cold days. Nice kitchen, rooms and lounge.

    Paula2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shortlake Cottage was absolutely delightful, simply and stylish with lovely features and gorgeous views from the upstairs family room. We stayed here with our 3 year old and 3 month old and had everything we needed to feel happy and at home for a few days. We walked down to the beach which was about 20 minutes (maybe a bit more coming back up!) The beach was deserted except for us and really gorgeous. The cottage is ideally located for sights such as Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, etc as well as towns Weymouth and Dorchester being easy drives away. Peter was easy to get in touch with and very helpful on the couple of occasions we needed him too, I would recommend both the cottage and Peter himself as a host. We ate in most nights in the well equipped kitchen but enjoyed a fantastic meal at the nearby Smugglers Inn on our last night which we would recommend also. ****** LOVED IT! 😊

    Alice2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do the space and location justice - in a great way! Plenty of room and so close to the bay. The view from the upstairs is brilliant and you can see the bay and over to Portland. We stayed as a couple with our dog, but if you are with another couple then the space and layout would be ideal, ensuring you have privacy as well as a great place to enjoy. Location is excellent for Weymouth, we also went to Swanage whilst there. Would strongly recommend Peters cottage if you are looking for a base to explore the area.

  • This place is gorgeous, the location is fantastic and it was great value for money. It made for a perfect weekend in the area.

  • All good and clean.

    Mick2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Quiet but near to the beach, walks and pub. Plenty of space, well equipped, warm and lovely building.

    Dinah2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • A little piece of perfection in a beautiful part of the world. Check-in was seamless. The interior is beautiful and very spacious. Loved the bathroom! The cleanliness is exceptional! The underfloor heating is very effective and the view from upstairs is breathtaking. The location is perfect - you feel like you are in the middle of the country far away from the hustle and bustle but you still have the convenience of Weymouth close by. I can't recommend Peters place enough!

  • Magdalena is a fantastic host and the place itself is wonderfully situated and very cozy and private. We had a cracking time and would definitely come again! Thanks so much!

  • I recommend Magdalena's studio flat. it is very clean, comfortable and has beautiful views

    New2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We choose Magdalenas loft as it was local to our friends who we'd come to see. It's a beautiful self contained space enough for our needs. Spotlessly clean. A very easy to find location from main roads, using sat nav. Very pretty village with and excellent pub opposite with good food. Very good communication too from Magdalena for either questions ask or info for us. Thoroughly recommend.

    Kay2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful studio, exactly as described. It is in a very pretty quiet rural village which has lovely walks by the river. The pub opposite means that you can nip out for a drink or meal. and the views from the studio and balcony are great. It is cosy but big enough for 2 people to sleep, cook and eat comfortably. The bed is really large and everywhere is immaculately clean. Magdalena was a lovely host providing us with local info during our stay and was extremely friendly when we met her.

    Louise2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Magdalena's place was perfect for the local guitar building course I was on (crimson guitars). A ten minute walk across two fields and I was at the venue. The studio was big, recently built, warm and clean. The cooking facilities allowed me to order a Waitrose delivery for the week and not spend a load of money in the local gastro pub. Saying that the pub is really nice, very popular and very close to the studio. Magdalena couldn't have been nicer or more outgoing. I felt very welcome and would gladly recommend her place to anyone. Matt

  • This is charming little flat which is well placed in quiet countryside yet opposite an outstanding country pub in a lovely village. Magdelana was an ideal and attentive host.

    Robert2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful studio located at a very charming village. Across the road from an excellent pub/restaurant. A close drive from Dorchester, you can enjoy a quiet rural landscape and relax easily in this place.

    Renato2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot and was perfect for our two night stay in Dorset, lovely stylish place, with thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. We loved that it was a quiet spot, in a peaceful village - away from the more chaotic bits of Dorset in holiday season. Arrivals info all very helpful, we also had a nice evening meal at the pub over the road which was friendly and good value food. A highly recommended flat if you are looking for a good base to explore this part of Dorset.

Lovely self contained annexe set in the beautiful surroundings of the Jurassic coast. There is a cosy double bedroom (which has the option of either a king size or two single beds) a shower room and a well equipped kitchen/dining/living room which has a sofa bed. The property has its own pretty courtyard garden and off road parking for one car.
self contained annexe with easy access to Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast AONB
West Lulworth and its associated Lulworth Cove is a pretty little village with many thatched properties. It does not have street lighting so the night sky can be very spectacular. There are two pubs both of which serve food, a very nice restaurant within easy walking distance of the property (a little expensive but lovely menu) and a bistro nearer to the sea which additionally does take away pizzas . There is also a number of further cafes including Finlays who serve good fish and chips and very delicious Dorset ice cream. (Please note that not everything is open during the winter)
  • A lovely place in an excellent location, a short walk to Lulworth Cove. It was very easy to find and the hosts were really helpful. Thanks guys!

    Mark2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable annexe in great location. Thoughtfully equipped. Quiet situation but just above the attractive village, (which can be reached down steps just to the right of the property). The thatched roof Castle Inn is a couple of minutes walk, and there is a good restaurant (the Limestone) a few minutes walk away - we had good meals in both. Beautiful countryside around, and about 10 minutes walk to Lulworth Cove.

The bathrooms are all lovely and were spotlessly clean. The Kitchen was great to cook in and is perfectly in keeping with the cottage feel. Jane, the host, was available throughout and responded instantly to our few queries making it a relaxing experience.

Honeysuckle Lodge is a unique blend of luxury mixed with the classic beach/shepherds hut design. It combines spa like experiences such as drenching shower and a hot tub surrounded by living walls; with home from home comforts such as cosy duvets, soft pillows and HD TV with Amazon Fire stick. Located on the site of an 18th Century Grade II listed building, in a small village with a fantastic local pub and village shop. Guests self check-in and out.
The lodge although small boasts a brand new en-suit with drenching rain shower head, stone sink and exposed copper piping. There is a double bed with cosy bedding, tea making facilities, Nespresso coffee machine and light continental breakfast. The Lodge also has use of a hot tub located just outside the lodge, surrounded by a living wall which gives privacy and a unique jungle feel. The Lodge is built in the grounds of our circa 18th Century Grade II Listed Thatched house which is located next to the A354 - this does mean that you will hear cars and often farm machinery passing during the day and sometimes at night.
The Royal Oak pub is the best local you could ask for. Serving fantastic food and drink and run by very friendly people. There is also a village shop too. All of which is within 2-3 minutes walk.
  • This tiny little treat is perfect if you just want to lock yourself away in a bedroom & a hot tub... a thoroughly gorgeous little find. Congratulations

    James2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here, it looks exactly as it does in the pictures! The location is perfect with so much to do just 20 minutes away in any direction! The hot tub was lovely after a day of exploring and the bed was super comfy. The extra bits (breakfast, orange juice and a bottle of wine) are super thoughtful. The Royal Oak does lovely food and everyone should 100% visit. We had a great time here, our only niggle was that it took ages for our towels and swimwear to dry, but apart from that we would stay again.

  • Incredible little lodge, perfect for a relaxing couples’ break. Built by the hosts, it’s clear that a lot of thought went into the experience of their guests. If you’re happy to drive for 20 minutes in any direction then there are endless options for day trips. The local pub was a great recommendation and just a short walk from the accommodation. To all future guests - kick back and enjoy!

    Sam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little Airbnb! The decor is so cosy and Jeremy and Chloe have done a wonderful job creating this little oasis. The hot tub is a thankful retreat after a long walk in the rain. Milborne is a delightful town, free from masses of tourists, and full of history and poetic scenery. Highly recommend visiting nearby Milton Abbey and Durdle Door. One note- there isn’t really a place to eat inside the bnb, but if you aren’t opposed to bed snacks then you’ll have a grand time!

    Lillith2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! Jeremy was the perfect host and we couldn’t have asked for a better night away. The lodge is amazing, so well equipped and the decor is modern and stylish, with lovely little touches everywhere! We really appreciated the wine, milk and orange juice in the fridge too. If you’re staying on a Sunday be sure to try the fantastic carvery at The Royal Oak pub just a stones throw away from the lodge. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back 5*

  • This is a true hideaway in a lovely village. The apartment was very clean and tidy, the kitchen had all we needed for our 4 night stay. The bed and pillows was comfortable Mark our host was there to greet us and show us around. We were using this apartment as a base to look around Dorset and it was perfect for us, the only down side for us townies were the country lanes but by the end of the week even I was getting used to driving down them in the dark. I would recommend staying here and we would book again.

  • An ideal location for a perfect getaway with incredible views and beautiful walks. The dogs enjoyed it as much as we did! The hot tub overlooking the bay was definitely a highlight. Despite a few minor issues with the accommodation we had the most wonderful relaxing stay. The fireplace was perfect for the rainy nights and it was a very thoughtful touch to provide enough wood for our two-night stay. We would definitely return and would recommend a stay in this lovely place.

  • This Old Lookout is a very special place. We only stayed one night but Peter still put the spa on for us. And the star-gazing was amazing!

  • Absolutely stunning home with a spectacular location. Could not recommend more. Can’t wait to stay again. The hot tub is an extra great touch

Self contained, self catering studio annex based in the county town of Dorchester. The towns amenities are all within short walking distance, including the new 'Brewery Square' development. Great base to explore Dorset's fabulous coast, countryside and walk in the footsteps of Thomas Hardy's Casterbridge. Motorbike friendly, high chair & travel cot available. Complimentary tea and coffee. Netflix TV.

Patio doors lead to a private decking area with table and chairs. There are also steps leading down to our established south facing garden which guests are welcome to use. Guests are welcome to view and go inside our World War 2 concrete air raid bunker which can be found in the back garden. The annex is equipped with everything you should need for a relaxing stay. The annex is equipped with a fully functional kitchen with an integrated fridge freezer, combination microwave oven and 2 ring electric hob. There is also a separate shower room. If you need use of a washing machine/tumble drier, we would be happy for you to use ours. The annex has central heating which is linked to our house, but there is also an electric fire. We have a friendly cat named Polly who you may see around the garden!
Quiet location, found in central Dorchester in a tree lined Avenue. Close enough to central Dorchester but also close enough to beautiful walks and cycle routes.

  • Great place to stay in Dorchester. Lovely and clean. off road parking. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Lovely place to visit.

    Philip2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for a weekend with my wife and 9 month old baby and it was perfect for us. Darren & Wing had thought of everything and were so friendly and welcoming. We could tell they really care and appreciate the people who stay. Check in and check out was a breeze, they were there for both but had already advised us of what to do if they weren't. The place was lovely, absolutely immaculate and looked to have been decorated recently. Highchair and travel cot were available on request which was a nice touch! Everything we could have needed was available in the kitchen, with instructions available for the appliances if required. If you don't want to cook then you don't have to worry, as they had put together a guide of places to dine locally, whether it's eat out or takeaway. The location is ideal, about a 10 minute walk from Brewery Square where there's loads of places to eat and about 1 mile from Tesco. All in all had everything we needed so will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

A tranquil setting on the outskirts of town. A beautiful home tastefully decorated with an artistic touch. Early morning walks along the river, visiting the grounds of Kingston Maurward or adventuring out to Durdle Door are just a few activities available to you a stone’s throw away. Your room is airy, light and cosy. Your bathroom modern and clean. Enough space to make you feel at home. Your hosts are friendly and always willing to share information about the area. A place to call home.
A peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle. 10 min walk to town, spacious room with comfortable bed and tasteful decor.
The Stinsford village atmosphere is peaceful, our church is well known because of Thomas Hardy, his heart buried in the grave yard. You have easy access to a tranquil river walk and the Kingston Maurward gardens.
  • Tracy was such a wonderful host! She treated us as if we were family! The cottage was so lovely! Great location not far from town and the addition to bubbles and Saturn was just a treat as we both love animals! We will definitely be returning in the summer! Thanks again for you’re hospitality!

    Shannon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a well presented home is a rare find and all the homely touches - including Sultan the cat (the perfect host) - make for a warm welcome.

    Tim2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy is lovely host, you are in her home and are made most welcome. Lovely accommodation and very relaxing.

    Paul2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy and the family are all lovely! I really enjoyed my stay with them. The breakfast each morning was lovely and catered to all your different wants/desires, the room was very cute and falling asleep was no issue. I had to do quite a bit of work on my laptop whilst I was there (unfortunately), and although the desk/chair in the room was too small, Tracy was more than happy for me to use the general living space to do my work, and I was able to spread out comfortably. I'm not a huge cat/dog person (shock-horror, I know!), but I absolutely adored Saturn and Bubbles. Saturn is a very friendly cat who doesn't ever seem to be unhappy (no biting or scratching, unless play fighting of course 😉), and Bubbles is very mature and calm - both of them always love a good pat and like being around people, so I was very happy to be around the pets. While Tracy, Mark, and daughter are all very friendly and love a good chat, they also respect your privacy and won't disturb you. I felt like part of the family while staying with them, but also felt I had my privacy and my own space. Will be staying again the next time I'm in Dorchester.

My friends are particular so that is high praise indeed. Jane is welcoming and always available on the phone for any queries. It was the little touches in the place which made it for us, such luxury.

Delightful double room with private bathroom in historic grade 2 listed house, in the lovely village of Puddletown, Dorset. Close to Jurassic coast (20 mins drive) Thomas Hardy’s house (7 mins). Great walking and cycling routes on the doorstep. Good local pub serving food 3 minutes walk. Large double room with views of garden located on private top floor, complete with Egyptian cotton sheets, tea and coffee. Light breakfast of cereals, juice, warm croissants. We look forward to welcoming you.
Our house is set away from the road near a church and is quiet and private. The only thing you might hear is the occasional peel of church bells in the early evening and owls hooting at night. We have a large garden and old orchard which you are welcome to sit in if the is weather good. Breakfast is served in our old beamed lounge (reputed to be the oldest rooms in the village!) overlooking the garden. We share our house with a friendly labradoodle and a large cat called Woofer - please be aware - people with allergies. There is free wifi and off road parking but parking is safe and plentiful nearby. The top floor of the house is yours to occupy but do be aware that the stairs are plentiful and steep!
Our village is famous for being the town of 'Weatherbury' in Thomas Hardye's 'Far From The Madding Crowd' and indeed his cousin Tryphina Sparks (and some say lover) reputedly worked in our house as a maid at the turn of the 20th century. She is also buried in the local church yard. There are plenty of local villages, pubs, gardens and churches to explore as well as the amazing natural sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (8 miles), Cerne Abbas Giant ( 6 miles), the beautiful local beach of Ringsted on the Jurassic coast (7 miles) and award winning Sculpture park Sculpture By the Lakes (2 miles)
  • Mandy and Jeremy host a beautiful cottage that is everything we wanted from a weekend away from London. There is a beautiful garden and orchard and they make you feel at home with lovely touches round the house. They have a fantastic dog womble and cat that just add to the amazingness of the place. Sitting in the living room looking out onto the garden through large French doors at the chickens is also incredibly relaxing.

    David2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a hidden gem! The house is beautiful and the Mandy was an amazing host! Breakfast was great! Amazing that we could bring our dog as well, she loved playing with Womble, who is such a friendly and gentle the dog!
