Updated Central Phoenix Townhouse near Restaurant Row

Sink into the comfortable sofa in the bright, open living area, or head out into the private courtyard with built-in seating. This postwar complex was designed by Ralph Haver, featuring a Spanish style with tasteful refinement and designer touches. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and approximately 1,100 sq. ft. of living space, this updated townhome is a perfect retreat in Central Phoenix. Located within minutes from many amenities, this is an ideal home base for your stay in Phoenix. All of the interior is light, bright, clean, and up to date. Relax in an open living area with TV (local channels, plus HBO), WiFi, streaming video player, and ample seating. Both bedrooms boast comfy foam mattresses, new furnishings, and en suite bathrooms. Enjoy a cup of coffee, a book, or the weather in your private courtyard with built-in bench seating. The kitchen includes all stainless appliances, a Keurig coffee maker (just get your favorite K-Cups), basic kitchen appliances, and most everything you'd need to either cook at home or enjoy delivery from any of the great nearby restaurants. Our townhome is one of only 38 residences on a private drive. It's very quiet and many neighbors have lived there for years. Enjoy a dip in the community pool which is just steps from your front door (our community pool, like most others in the area, is not heated). You'll have the entire townhome just for you and your guests. The community has an outdoor pool (not heated) and barbecue area (charcoal grills) and a key is provided in the townhome. We have a washer and dryer provided inside the townhome. It’s easily accessible from a closet in the kitchen area. We once lived in this home, but have relocated just a few blocks away. You may contact us with any questions before, during, or after your stay. We love the area and are happy to provide recommendations! Check in/out is self-service, so you can also come and go without ever talking to us. Steve, who helps us manage our bookings, might also respond to your questions or provide assistance, if needed. We take hosting seriously, and are a proud #HostfullyHost. This means when you stay with us, you will get a personalized Hostfully guidebook. In it, you will find important information about our home, as well as our favorite local recommendations. It’s easy to navigate, and you can access it from your phone or desktop. The townhouse is one of only 38 residences on a private drive. It's very quiet and provides easy access to major freeways and attractions. There is a variety of dining, cocktail, and brewery options within a mile of the home. Our neighborhood has a Walk Score of 62 out of 100, so some errands can be accomplished on foot. Uber and Lyft are easy and affordable methods of transportation in this area. If you're planning to rent a car, there are two parking spaces available in the unit's covered carport and additional parking nearby. There is also convenient access to public transit, taxi, and bike lanes. Our major cross streets are 12th St. and Missouri Ave. If you’d like to estimate the distance or travel time to/from our home, we suggest that you look up “Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust” as the location in your favorite map app.

All about Phoenix

Sun-bathed Phoenix, Arizona’s capital and largest city, rules the Valley of the Sun, a metropolitan region that also includes such bustling regions as college town Tempe and swanky Scottsdale. A former agricultural hub, Phoenix is now the state's economic and cultural lynchpin. The city is home to world-class museums, nearly 200 golf courses, and — thanks to a population that is more than 40 percent Hispanic or Latinx — some of the best Mexican food to be had north of the border. The city also attracts adventurers who want to hike through storybook desert landscapes dotted with cactus and dramatic rock formations, which can be found just outside the city.

What are the top things to do in Phoenix?

Camelback Mountain

This mountain earned its name from a pair of peaks that resemble the hump of a camel’s back, and its reputation as a tough but rewarding hike thanks to panoramic views of the Valley of the Sun. There are two trails to take to the 1,420-foot summit, the Cholla Trail and the slightly harder Echo Canyon Trail. Both are challenging, featuring rocky terrain, steep ascents, and some climbing. As you hike, you’ll be surrounded by the colorful pink, orange, and red hues of the sandstone terrain from which saguaro and prickly pear cactus grow. Camelback Mountain is located just twenty minutes’ drive from downtown Phoenix, so you won’t have to wait long after finishing to reward yourself with a snack and a cool drink.

Desert Botanical Garden

Looking for something less taxing than a sweaty mountain hike? Explore more than 50,000 plant displays in this gorgeously landscaped 140-acre botanical garden devoted to desert flora. Thousands of agave and cacti grow here, alongside 485 rare and endangered species. Five themed trails cut through the gardens, which grow against the backdrop of the Papago Buttes, a cluster of striking red rock formations. The garden also hosts musical performances and art installations. Grab a quick bite at the cafe, or enjoy a sit-down meal of farm-to-table fare at the garden restaurant.

Musical Instrument Museum

Strum a Peruvian harp or try your luck at coaxing sci-fi-style wails out of a Theremin at this utterly unique museum showcasing more than 8,000 musical instruments from more than 200 countries. No, you can’t touch everything here, but a highlight for many visitors (especially kids) is the Experience Gallery, where you can bang gongs and thump on massive communal drums. A STEM gallery explores the science of soundwaves and frequency, while the Mechanical Music Gallery showcases player pianos, automatons, and music boxes that play themselves.
