  • This property is perfect for a family of 3 or a couple we had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was fully equipped with lots of modern conveniences. There is off road parking and a fenced garden with garden furniture for the better weather, we took our 2 dogs with us and they enjoyed the garden, the property is very s dog friendly. I always look at other reviews before booking and was pleased to find that the property lived up to the high standard, the photographs do not do it justice.

Jan and Badger gave the best welcome, meeting me from the train station to make sure I didn’t lost. Once at the house I was immediately offered tea and home made flap jack. The room I stayed in was quiet and spacious with lovely decor. Breakfast was laid out beautifully with lots of choice and they really made me feel at home. Plus the added bonus of badger the dog and his two friendly feline friends. What lovely people, would book again in a heart beat. Thank you!

Quirky grade 2 listed first floor apartment in the heart of West Malling , just off the High Street it is also very quiet and peaceful . There are many bars , restaurants and specialty shops , mainly all of which are also in listed buildings and within a five minute walk and yet in less than ten minutes you can be walking around beautiful countryside and parks . There is a mainline train station covering London Victoria and Ashford International , again a ten minute walk away .
My place is a 17 th century apartment , in part of a building that used to be used for drying hops . It has two bedrooms , one bathroom and although shared with myself guests are welcome to make use of the main living / kitchen area .
  • I stayed with Helen sporadically over a five week period whilst working in the area. I loved staying there. It was deliciously cosy. Helen is very welcoming and makes a lovely cup of tea. Thank you Helen!

  • If you book Steve's place you're basically getting your own mini house. It's got everything you need and more, it's sparkling clean, very modern and I can't recommend the place enough. The mini house is built in Steve's garden and it's a fantastic place to wake up in the morning with gorgeous views. Although only a sofa bed it is just as big and comfy as a double, the sheets and pillows were fresh, great quality and smelled amazing. The bathroom/shower is very clean and well decorated. The little dog they have is very friendly as well!

  • Sue's place is spotless, bigger than it looks in the pictures. Beautiful quiet location, with a stunning view! Great local pub,(The Barming Bull), that does great food at a reasonable cost. Highly recommend the whole experience!

  • I was looking forward to this mini break as I needed a relaxing break in the countryside with my Grandson who has Autism and our dog , on arrival Jan met us and welcomed us into the lovely apartment / converted stable , she was very warm and friendly and she asked which toys my Grandson liked , we were even given some lovely sweet refreshments / treats to eat and we settled in quickly to what would be the most relaxing and restful trip we have ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and we did NOT want to leave , it is so great we wish to return as it is a haven of peace and has so much character , charm and open space to explore! :-) :-)

  • Jan’s Place will give you a very warm welcome & help you in anyway they can to make your stay the best.

  • Jan deserves the title superhost! I would highly recommend this place to anyone making a trip to Maidstone, particularly if you have a dog. The house, garden and surrounding area are idyllic. If you have a dog, the garden is large enough (and enclosed) allowing them to run around. Jan and Chris were very welcoming and had lots of tips for dog friendly things to do in the area.

    Fiona2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little place set in lovely surroundings. Jan and Chris were very friendly and helpful. We even met their Labrador, Badger, and our Poodle, Ron, had a great time playing together! Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • Conveniently located for access to Maidstone, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. For non drivers the bus stop is right outside the house! Train station about 15-20 minute walk. Room is accurately described and of a huge size, with lovely en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower facilities.

    Shane2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay here. The house was amazing and we loved the character of the beautiful old house. Dawn went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and provided a lovely haven for us in between a 2 day course we were down for. The dogs Duffy and Dexter made us fall in love instantly and were just the most loving placid dogs we had ever met. Dawn was just an incredible host and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We felt comfortable, at home and looked after. A million times better than any travelodge and so much better value.

    Carla2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

I have created a peaceful space in my recently refurbished 400yr old home where you can relax and get a good nights sleep. You will have the whole 1st floor to yourself as you can sleep in room 1, but unwind in the bath or watch TV on the daybed in room 2. Mini Fridge and Kettle are provided for Tea/Coffee etc. Burd (dog who's restricted to downstairs) and I will give you a friendly welcome, but will leave you to unwind in your own space upstairs.
The daybed in room 2 can sleep guests if you don't wish to share room 1, but access to the bathroom is through room 2.
Wateringbury is a beautiful and historic Village with a great vibe. There is a great Café next door, Pub/Restaurant a minutes walk over the road, post office, shops and beautiful walks in and around the village or by the river, making it a great spot to rest up in. We are only a 10minute drive to great shopping in Maidstone, and 20minutes to historic Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge. All three have a good selection of bars and restaurants should you want to venture further than the village pubs for dinner. If its history you're after, then we are close to many historical homes such as Penshurst place and Hever Castle and if you want a good walk or bike ride then Bewl Water offers a lovely 13 mile circular route round the reservoir.

Perfect for visiting the Kent countryside which is peppered with stately homes and castles, Pear Tree Garden is set in the middle of a fruit farm with nothing but beautiful views of the Garden of England surrounding it. 1/2 an hour from Royal Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks, an hour from historic Battle and Hastings and 45 minutes by train from London. Folkestone, where you can drive through to France via the Eurotunnel, is less than an hour away. One hour from Heathrow and 40 minutes from Gatwick
Although situated in the Pear Orchard of our home, Pear Tree Garden has its own parking area and path. A welcome hamper will make you feel at home on arrival. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, freezer, oven & hob, microwave and washing machine. Towels/bed linen/toiletries all provided. Outside you have a patio with Garden furniture and a barbecue. For your information, we very occasionally have friends and/or family staying in the apartment above.
West Peckham is a tiny, gated village - one of only two in the entire country which you cannot drive through. Once past the white gates, you will find only the gorgeous Saxon church of St. Dunstan and The Swan on the Green, a gastro pub with an excellent menu of freshly cooked, local produce. if you are into your beer, it has its own micro-brewery! There are often social events held on the green outside The Swan including Morris Dancing, fetes and live music.

My apartment is within an easily accessible part of the wonderful Kings Hill; just a couple of mins drive (or spirited walk) to the heart of the development's shops. An isolated Coach House, there is no one below or above to disturb. There's also a private parking spot and ample visitor spaces. Kings Hill is 5 mins from West Malling, which has a selection of great pubs and restaurants. With the M20 closeby, Maidstone is a 20 min drive. Alternatively, stay in and enjoy the big TV and footrest!
The Coach House is everything you would expect of a modern apartment - open plan, good shower, big TV and strong WiFi signal! You should have everything you need - there's an ironing board, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and all the essentials to enjoy your stay.
Kings Hills is a very in demand housing development for families. My apartment is a short walk from the woods, and also the main shops (Asda, Waitrose, Costa, restaurants, dry cleaners etc.). If you wish to venture slightly further, West Malling and Offham are delightfully Kentish with great places to drink and eat. You are also not far from the M20.
  • Great location for working anywhere at Kings Hill.

Rob was quick at replying and check in was super easy, even accommodating us arriving slightly early when we didn't hit traffic on the drive down. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, including shops nearby too :) We really enjoyed our stay and would more than happily recommend it! We hope to stay again in the future :D

If you are, like us looking to stay in and shut the world out you’ll need Netflix or amazon prime account, as there is a lovely big tv but no free view channels to watch.

  • We found Rob and Claire's place to be clean, comfortable and exactly what we wanted for our Christmas base for visiting family in the area. We really valued their quick and helpful communication, and the parking space available. We'll likely book again for around the same time next year.

Our beautiful quaint tree is house located in 17 acres in the West Kent countryside. We are immersed in nature with stunning views of our herd of horses living as naturally as possible on an equine track system. Other animals include our herd of alpacas, chickens and our resident pet pig. Located close to Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells with lots of day excursions easily accessible. Sleeps two people comfortably. Amenities are in the main house, about a 20 metre outdoor walk from the tree house.
Our tree house is very cosy providing the bed for your stay which is why we also provide a private inside area which consists of a shower, toilet, kettle, microwave, coffee making facilities including a fridge. There is a lovely lounge area with sofas and wifi connection (albeit rural internet connectivity speeds) where you can comfortably change and relax.
  • What an amazing stay! The accommodation is cozy and has everything you might need during your visit. Both the treehouse and the private area in the house are warm so it didn't matter we visited during a cold, windy and stormy weekend. The location is great - a great weekend escape actually not far from London. Lastly, Jennifer is a great, thoughtful host. Would definitely recommend!

  • The treehouse was soo super cute and soo comfy, bedding was like being wrapped in a big hug and even storm Dennis didn’t affect our stay, we couldn’t hear the wind or rain as the treehouse is tucked away and perfectly constructed. Beautiful and quiet surroundings, easy to find, comfy large living areas. WiFi was easy to connect to, great communication from Jen prior to our stay and was greeted by lovely Zoe. Highly recommended and the family dogs were soo huge but like babies, defo give them a stroke as they loved the attention! Thank you!

Although it’s close to everything it feels like you have escaped to your own little world in the countryside. We had a great Sunday lunch nearby next to the river. In the heart of the Kent countryside Evesham Lodge offers a perfect getaway. Perfectly situated to visit local attractions including Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst and Bedgebury Pinetum to name but a few. In the village you can catch a direct train to London which takes under an hour. Evesham Lodge is self-contained and situated in our large 1 acre garden. It has a private entrance and plenty of off road parking. A car is essential for your visit.
Evesham Lodge has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One has a shower cubicle and the other has a bath with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, full sized fridge freezer and washing machine with dryer. There is an outside seating area and you have shared use of the garden with a pond. We have ducks living on the pond and chickens.
We are situated between Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone. There are many National Trust properties to visit, excellent cycle and walking routes, and great shopping with a good mix of independently owned and top chain stores in Tunbridge Wells. We also benefit from some highly acclaimed restaurants and pubs in the area.
  • A convenient, well proportioned house for a family, surrounded by a large beautiful garden, in a quiet location in the sleepy village of Madden. My children loved exploring the large garden, feeding the chickens and the ducks in their pond. All the amenities you'll need! Great position to visit many National Trust places (Scotney Castle, Bodium Castle, Sissinghurst), Leeds Castle is not too far, close enough to the Sussex border ( we visited Heartsmonceaux castle and Astronomical Observatory.

    Stefania2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is amazing. Warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need. Emma was so helpful and kind. The garden was beautiful, with chickens and ducks and a pond. In a lovely area. Easy to access from the A229. Emma provided us with eggs and biscuits, so we had scrambled eggs on toast, which was so tasty. Can't fault the place. Would recommend it, and would love to stay again.

The lodge was very clean, tidy and basically has everything you needed. Instructions on entering the lodge were easy and the hosts had a booklet of recommended shops, restaurants and takeaways in the area which was helpful. Situated at 'The Lost Village of Dode', Woodside is one of two semi-detached cottages we offer situated in complete tranquility at the end of a 'no through road' in the depths of the Kent countryside, five miles south of historic Rochester. Designed very much as a small, country 'hideaway' this really is an ideal place if you're looking for a magical, even spiritual place to retreat to for complete peace and quiet.
Woodside is located next door to our neighbour retreat Hillview. Built of green oak and recycled materials with imaginative use of handcrafted wrought iron work has been used to great effect throughout. Designed very much as a small, country retreat to be 'inward' looking, you'll find that the minute you set foot inside the door the cares of the world melt away as you begin to unwind and soak up the atmosphere with its intimate, almost medieval, feel. Comfortable, contemporary furnishings in all the living space allow guests to relax and make the most of their stay. Great use has been made of the available living space and all the rooms are well equipped for their size. What makes this cottage unique is that it lies in a tiny hamlet known locally as Dode which was virtually wiped out by The Black Death in the 14th century. All that remains of the original village is the small, former, Norman church, which was last used as a place of worship in 1367, then deconsecrated. Restored in the Victorian era, it is now a popular venue for civil wedding ceremonies. The site as a whole is steeped in ancient history, details of which can be obtained from the owner, who is an expert on the subject.
The Lost Village of Dode Far lies far away, in a magical place, where time has stood still, in an almost forgotten valley between Luddesdown and Holly Hill, nestled in the North Kent Downs in the South East of England, there stands a beautiful, enchanting & romantic Norman church which is loved and cared for by your hosts Doug & Mary, it is the only remaining trace of 'The Lost Village of Dode'. This unique, lovingly restored, Norman church, located within an amazing setting is home to our unique wedding venue and two cottage retreats Woodside & Hillview. The two cottages stand just below and within the grounds of the church and enjoy a really peaceful outlook across fields and up to woodland on Holly Hill. It's a superb location for keen walkers with easy access onto the North Downs/Pilgrims Way, which leads to England's premier cathedral city of Canterbury. Although well away from busy main roads, Dode is within comfortable driving distance of a number of visitor attractions, such as the majestic Leeds Castle, medieval Igtham Mote, Chartwell, former home of Sir Winston Churchill, and the historic naval dockyard at Chatham. The cathedral city of Rochester with its Norman castle above the River Medway, is an easy drive as are the creeks and inlets of the north Kent coastline where there are a number of RSPB bird sanctuaries. London, via the M20 is an hour's drive. For a family day out, why not try Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury, or slightly further afield the seaside town of  Margate (about an hour's drive), with it's many and varied attractions.
  • Such a great place! Cottage was amazing and located in a beautiful valley. Couldn’t have asked for more.

    Matthew2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • it certainly is a very special place. My wife was brought up less than 8 miles from here and we couldn't believe such a peaceful place could exist anywhere near this location. An enchanting place with so many lovely walks, I will certainly be looking to stay again.

    Roni2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent, so much better than I could have hoped for. Clean and cosy.

    Martina2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottages are in a very secluded and very quiet part of Kent, snuck away at the end of its own valley lane next to a Norman church. No people and no mobile signal! The facilities inside are great and has some lovely touches such as wrought iron work, big rugs and a gallery bedroom. It also has a large hot tub in the main bedroom. Certainly a great location for walks to the local country pubs of Meopham and Cobham.

    Chris2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place to stay! Communication was good- and everything was as expected. So calm and peaceful.

    Heather2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Woodside. It’s set in a wonderful rural location - Incredibly peaceful and quite. At night the only sound we could hear were the many owls hooting in the woods. Beautiful! I’d recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away from it all, and yet still be close to amenities.

  • Of all the Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in, this is my favorite. The little cottage was perfectly situated in the English countryside and was extremely comfortable with everything I needed. There were lovely treats left by the host, which was much appreciated after my transatlantic flight and the house was cosy and warm. The views were spectacular! I didn’t watch any TV while I was there, but there are two and a small vintage radio next to the bed. Shower was amazing. I didn’t rent a car as my brother lives nearby, and I love walking on the footpaths , but you might need one if you stay here. It’s not hard to walk to the station with trains to Victoria and there is a local cab company. Christine and Trevor were lovely and were very helpful without being interfering , and gave many tips with the local walks. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to be back one day!

    Louise2019-10-10T00:00:00Z

    Caroline2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful cottage in a very beautiful part of the county, truly the garden of England. The cottage has everything you will need for your stay. There are stairs up to the bedroom but it is worth it for the space, the view and the comfort. We did not meet Christine but Trevor was a perfect host. You will probably need a car to stay in this cottage, and enjoy driving the country lanes. There is a station nearby for the trekkers with little luggage. We really enjoyed or stay.

The facilities were all first class and the view of the garden from the bedroom window was amazing. Christine and Trevor made us fell welcome and at home. I would definitely come back to Derbies.

  • Derbies is a beautiful, quiet, relaxing place to be. I look forward to many more visits in the New Year. Christine and Trevor were the perfect hosts and it was great to know they were just next door. My trip exceeded my expectations; from the view out of the bedroom window, to the cosy lounge and not forgetting the bottle of wine and homemade chocolates in the fridge. Thank you.

  • This is a very comfortable apartment in a good location. It is very well equipped and was very clean. Nice touches with toiletries, tea, coffee etc. Only one comment that may be of interest is the stairs if you have mobility issues as the apartment is on the first floor.

  • Great private flat. Parking included was ideal and felt safe parking my car there, pretty close to the city and other amenities so that was handy. Host was quick to reply me which I appreciated, I would stay here again.

  • Frank's property is located centrallyin the town centre. Due to its location you will find that you have lots of amenities close to hand. The property has excellent secure allocated parking not far from apartment. The property its self is modern, clean and very well presented. The picture truly dont do it justice. My wife and I stayed here with my sister in law and we all woke the following day think we had stayed at a home we could call our own. If you are looking for a base centrally in Maidstone. This has to be one of if not the best places to stay. With everything on your door step if needed.
