  • The pictures don't do justice to how great Lara's place is. The space is great for a group, and all the rooms were excellent. Lara was very responsive and the information on arrival was very helpful. Would 100% stay again!

  • Great weekend away with some friends. Everything you need, lovely place complete with hot tub, comfortable beds and cosy wood burning stoves. Lara was very helpful allowing us to check in early and check out late. Thanks!

  • Lara was a superb host. Everything was straight forward and easy. Nice touches like a welcome basket and prepared fires in the stoves just made that special difference. Perfect getaway for family and/or friends in a great spot for exploring the cairngorms. Whatever the reason you’ll love the accommodation, warm friendly and welcoming! Can’t recommend enough :)

  • Outstanding stay! With 3 adults and 2 kids, we had more room than we could dream of - the house is even more spacious than the pictures convey. Beautiful decor, so comfortable, cozy and warm, and the hot tub is heaven. The nearby Landmark Adventure centre is amazing for kids (and adults!) Woke up to a red squirrel eating an apple right outside the window. Can’t wait to come back xxx

  • This wonderful house on the riverbank at the edge of the village has a very good layout for families, is very well equipped and has a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed the generous facilities with our family of 10. Renting this house is an exceptional opportunity. Bart

  • This is an amazing house - stylish, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was much appreciated as were the welcome provisions. It really is a house for all seasons and perfectly located in the Abernethy Forest - a really fantastic environment. Many thanks, Lara.

We loved cooking in the large kitchen with the whole family of 9 around the breakfast bar. The kids had fun exploring the house and sledging in the fields. Can’t wait for our next visit

This modern bothy, situated on the edge of ancient forests, would make an ideal retreat or base for adventures. As well as local walks and the riverside village of Nethy Bridge, it's only a short drive to the Cairngorms for skiing, hiking & biking.
The Bothy is recently redecorated and was only built about 10 years ago. It has its own decking outside and front door to enter. There is space to sit out on the decking and outdoor seating. Our house is on the same site and shares the large garden. Downstairs there is a large open plan living area with kitchen, dinning table and sitting area and washing machine. The kitchen is an Ikea style "kitchen in a cupboard" with electric rings, sink, fridge, and a combi oven/grill/microwave. Upstairs there is a king-size bed in a large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower but no bath). There is a small double sofa bed that sleeps 1 adult or a child.
The Bothy is in a quiet area with mostly trees and fields surounding. The woods close to the Bothy are owned by the RSPB and there are some very accessible paths. There is also the River Nethy which runs through the village which joins the River Spey nearby. In the village, there are public tennis courts 5 minutes walk away with an honesty box. There are two hotels in Nethy where you can get a meal and a weekly fish and chip van on a Monday. There is a great new cafe. There is a small shop, a Farm Shop and Post Office. The nearest town is Grantown on Spey which has a range of small local shops or in the other direction Aviemore has a range of facilities. Also the nearby village of Boat of Garten has a restaurant and coffee shop. There is downhill skiing locally in the winter about 40 minutes drive at Cairngorm. You can also get to the Lecht for skiing in the other direction and it is also 40 minutes drive. About 30 minutes away, Loch Morlich is a base for watersports in the summer and also an access point for walks in the Cairngorms. There is some great mountain biking from the door including some local single track and various other locations and trails. There is also some road cycling on quiet roads locally and some accessible cycle tracks. There are many walks short and long including the Speyside way which runs through the village and plenty of Munros to go at in the Cairngorms. There are also various whisky distilleries to visit. For wildlife lovers, we regularly have red squirrels in the garden and various birds. Crested tits visit the garden in the winter and you might want to try to spot Capercaillie in the nearby woods. If you have any more queries about things to do in the local area please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Our 4th visit to The Bothy so that says it all! It's right beside the Dell Woods and walks are on your doorstep. Wake up to the sight of majestic Scots pines and silence! It's stylish accommodation in a great location. Nethy House offers good casual dining for breakfasts, lunches and snacks, the farm shop sells a good range of goods including fresh meat and vegetables and Andersons in Boat of Garten has more upmarket meals .Andy and Abigail are, in our opinion, perfect hosts as they leave you in peace but you know they are there should you need them.

The shack was cosy, clean and exactly what we needed to rest our heads. We were also blown away by how thoughtful the hosts were by leaving our little boy a dinosaur themed birthday card and toy! • Very homey, comfortable room and bath. Every detail considered, warm, congenial, kind host.

    Kathleen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 3 nights over New Year 2019 at Lili’s wee B&B and had an amazing time. Lili cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning and catered superbly for my gluten intolerance. Her two wee dogs are great company and made the stay even more enjoyable :) The room was great, the bed very comfortable and the superb power shower in the bathroom was a welcome change to my experience of the usual ‘trickle’ showers elsewhere in the UK. If you are looking for an authentic Aviemore experience with a truly local host that has a vast knowledge of the area look no further and book with Lili!

The single story cottage dates back to the 1860s. However, during 2018 it was stripped back to the original walls and completely refurbished. The accommodation on offer comprises a spacious living area, fully fitted kitchen, comfortable bedroom and bathroom with shower. Bothan Beag is ideally suited for two guests, however the double sofa bed in the living room is comfortable and suitable for a further two people should you wish. Outside, the cottage has a secluded patio and enclosed garden area at the rear of the property. Guests can also enjoy sitting by the riverside within the main garden - the River Nethy and the Nethy Bridge both form part of the boundaries.
Nethy Bridge is a popular village in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. Bothan Beag is ideally located centrally in the village with all local amenities just a minute or two away on foot. Nethy House Cafe and Rooms is directly opposite serving delicious food and drinks during the day. The Nethybridge Hotel is also adjacent to the property and serves a full range of drinks as well as lunches and evening meals. On the other side of the bridge is a well stocked Spar Grocery shop and just across the road you will find Balliefurth Farm Shop offering a wide range of fresh meats, vegetables and other luxury treats. A vast network of paths suitable for all abilities can be reached within minutes by walking or cycling from Bothan Beag. Nethy Bridge also provides the perfect base for accessing a huge range of other outdoor activities ranging from hillwalking to birdwatching, clay pigeon shooting to pony trekking. Or perhaps you would prefer something more adventurous such as kayaking or canyoning, quad biking or zip lining. Within 30 minutes drive you can test your skills at the Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trail centre and within an hour, Laggan Wolftrax Mountain Bike Trails. For those wanting to head off for a days skiing the Lecht Ski Centre or Cairngorm Mountain are approximately half and hours drive.
  • We loved Bothan Beag, it had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Very comfortable furnishings, plenty of space, bright and spotless throughout. Great wee kitchen with everything you could possibly need, nicely decorated and plenty of storage, full size fridge, full cooker, microwave and even a dishwasher. We particularly enjoyed the use of the wood burning stove, being in close proximity to all the village amenities, and having so many great walks from the doorstep. Communications were flawless and everything was ‘as advertised’. We look forward to returning.

  • Brett and Fiona are wonderful hosts! The place is clean and cozy, and in the middle of town. The restaurant and cafe are literally across the street, and it's a great home base for exploring the beautiful natural surroundings. Brett was always very quick and helpful to any questions we had, as well as happy to provide great local knowledge. We'd love to stay again!

  • Wonderful place to stay. Immaculately clean. Stylish and very cosy. Everything you could want in a perfect location. Close to lots of stunning walks, great family friendly restaurants and cafes. Fiona and Brett are fantastic hosts. We arrived to some very thoughtful lovely treats in the kitchen for ourselves and our 3 year old son! We've had a fabulous week and we'll definitely be back. Thank you.

  • Lovely clean cottage in a lovely location would highly recommend

    Steve2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • As a family of 4 (2 adults/2 children) we totally recommend Brett's place for ALL the key features one needs from a holiday rental on Air BnB eg. response time, finding the place, checking in, being briefed on how everything works, where to go, value add with those finer touches, luxury, cleanliness, homeliness, comfort etc. Location was ideal for access to all main attractions in the Cairngorms, yet quaint, quiet and cosy at Nethy Bridge. A lot of value for money and left us feeling very at home during our stay. Both Brett and Fiona are extremely helpful and hospitable at any point during the visit. You'll love it!

  • I loved my stay here! Breakfast was great, location was beautiful, staff were very nice and accommodating. There are buses that run from Aviemore Station so everything was very convenient. I’ve been getting sick so it was nice to have a more traditional bed and breakfast experience where everything is close at hand and the rooms are a little more like hotel rooms, without losing any charm. I would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

  • Karen and the other staff at Nethy Cafe were very accommodating and went out of their way to help us. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well situated. Cosy self-catering accommodation sleeps two. Situated between Aviemore and Grantown on Spey in the Cairngorms National Park close to the River Spey and surrounded by woods and farmland. Boat of Garten village is within a mile. Refurbished in 2018 to a high standard, Sycamore Cottage provides cosy accommodation for single people or couples looking for a relaxed break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage is in a secluded location with wonderful views overlooking the River Spey and Strathspey Steam Railway track with the Cairngorm mountains in the background. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.
  • We spent a fantastic couple of days in Sycamore Cottage. Martin met us on arrival and gave us some pointers for the local area which was gratefully received. The cottage itself is perfectly orientated facing the river and countryside to create a private, fenced off area. The location is ideally placed for Aviemore and the Cairngorms and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

    Bailey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest little cottage and perfect little getaway. Really nice to come back to a warm and cosy place after exploring the lochs and mountains in the snow. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting explore the Cairngorms.

  • We spent a great couple of nights with Briony. Immaculate place, and a very comfy bed!

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Briony offers a brilliant location and excellent directions. Thank you again. :-)

    Stuart2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Home from home :) if you're a couple wanting to take in the sites of Aviemore whilst still keeping your home comforts then look no further! There was clear communication from Briony and Martin from the word go, even before we had booked the cottage. The cottage is down at the bottom of their garden, but don't let that put you off. They had fenced an area for our own private garden, bird feed and decking, plus the views overlook the river, not their house, so you feel like your in your own private location. Martin was there to greet us to ensure we were settled in and was to hand if we had any problems (which we didnt). The house was super clean and comfortable, but it was the small added extras that made it... - dog treats, bowls and towels (dog towels came in handy as we had so much rain ours were drenched!) - OS maps so we could plan our walks -fresh eggsfrom their chickens - wood for the fire (although the house was so warm we didnt need it) - a fully stock kitchen, we cooked ever night and wasn't short of any utensils. Was more than happy with the cottage and couldn't recommend enough. Thank you for a cosy cottage after our long days out.

    Kerry2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a perfect stay at Sycamore Cottage. Briony met us on arrival and welcomed us with freshly made bread and eggs from her chickens. Waking up the following morning to a dusting of snow and amazing views was just wonderful. There's a lovely spot for dogs just out the back of the garden and the cottage is super cosy and warm. Lovely touches like dressing gowns, dog blankets and lots of logs for the log burner. Great location for driving to local amenities and loads of amazing walks nearby. We hope to come back in the summer.

    Eleanor2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage as part of a weekend getaway in the Highlands. Briony's communication was great and the check in smooth despite us getting in a bit late. The cottage is cosy, modern and Briony has ensured that it is absolutely neat (even the cooking utensils are lined up neatly). We appreciated the eggs left for breakfast and the wood burning stove for cosy nights in front of the fire. I highly recommend Briony's place for a peaceful retreat near the Cairngorms.

Cannot think of anything that could or world need to be different. Emily and Alex are lovey hosts.

  • The birds nest was excellent, spotlessly clean, and the bed is huge! Perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside. Cosy downstairs area with kitchen, log fire, armchairs and microwave/oven too. Then upstairs space is large, with big sofa. We were so relaxed the whole holiday, with great walks directly from the cottage, round loch vaa is recommended. And only about 5 minute drive into aviemore, loads of activities to do nearby. So peaceful with views of the Cairngorms and the local cows too! The hosts are very friendly and were available if we needed anything. Amazing they constructed the cottage themselves too! Wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

  • Beautiful hideaway in the heart of the Cairngorms - highly recommend. Both Emily and Alex were very friendly and helped us out with any questions we had. Great base for exploring even in rainy weather - in the evenings we much enjoyed just listening to the radio and reading by the fire which we don't get to do enough! Overall the birds nest was cosy, comfortable and all the added creative up-cycled details gave it a special touch. Thanks for having us!

    Jo2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and her family have created a peaceful oasis. It's perfect if you want to explore the Cairngorms without the bustle of the towns. Our highlight was exploring Loch Vaa and being able to stargaze on a clear night - not to mention the glorious views the Bird's Nest has!

    Jess2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at "The Bird's Nest" - Emily and Alex obviously put a lot of work & thought into this place. I can totally recommend staying here!

    Justine2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Bird’s Nest couldn’t be in a more idyllic location. We woke each morning to the stunning views of fields, forests and mountains. We stayed cosy and warm next to the log burner and luxuriated in the home comforts so thoughtfully provided. Our hosts were top notch - they personify what makes Airbnb such a cool and amazing venture. I would recommend The Bird’s Nest without hesitation.

Hand-built to a high standard, this magical shepherds hut has all the essentials for a peaceful, revitalizing few days away. In Coorie the bed is king size and comfortable, the shower is large with a rain shower head and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. The only source of heating is a wood-burning stove. This adds warmth to an enchanting interior. You'll have everything you need for a great stay and in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area of the Cairngorm National Park.
Our huts sit in 16 acres of mixed woodland. Nethy bridge is only a 10 minute walk away with a local butcher, coffeeshop and local convenience store. Aviemore is accessible by car and takes around 15 minutes to reach by car or alternatively hop on bikes and enjoy a 45 minute ride in some lovely landscapes full of pine trees and heather.
  • The hut was perfectly placed just outside the lovely little town of Nethy Bridge. Friday morning, we were greeted by a roaming deer outside which we viewed from the bed, a lovely surprise and not a bad way to start your morning. The bed was extremely comfortable, and no matter the temperature of the hut, the shower was always perfectly warm. We certainly will make a second trip, next time we'd love to bring the dog with us. Thanks for a lovely experience and much-needed escape.

  • A superb little shepherd's hut in a beautiful part of Scotland. A very clean, comfortable, well thought out space with cracking views. The hut is in a secluded, yet very accessible spot, that was easy to find. We were greeted by Nic who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We really enjoyed our short stay and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • Genuinely can’t say enough good things about this little hut. Arrived in the evening to be welcomed by a little path with fairy lights into the hut which was already warm and cosy due to the fire having being lit prior to arrival. The hut has all the amenities you need and has such a well thought out design. With little touches most places often lack. We had a fantastic nights stay and cannot wait to come back for another visit in the future. Couldn’t recommend the place enough.

    Hannah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Zoe has thought of everything. Would 100% recommend.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy cabin to retreat and wait out stormy weather. We booked the hut at short notice but Zoe got straight back to us and made everything very easy. A little expensive although we only stayed for one night so were perhaps a little more stung by the service/cleaning fee. We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!

    Annecy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherd hut is great! Lovely location with great views and walks nearby. We will definitely be back.

    Ross2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really something magical and close to anything you want to see in the cairngorms. You can hide out from the world, but still be close to farms hops andthe best lochs and trails. Loved it.

    Do2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic break in the Hut. It is super cute in the most stunning of locations. Our stay was over a freezing January weekend and we were so cosy with the log burner on. The shower is amazing and the bed very comfy. The number 34 bus makes it easy to get back from the pub in either Boat or Nethy too. We’d recommend the trail to get to Boat though. Just on the door step and gorgeous.

Nethy Bridge is in the Cairngorms National Park, the house overlooks the garden and river; bathroom & shower for exclusive use across the hall. Breakfast in the garden room, if you have particular dietary needs let us know. Our speciality is scrambled free range eggs and bacon from the butcher in Nethy! Highland Hospitality is very important to us and we are delighted to share our home with you but please note our home is not suitable for children. N.B. Please ensure you have travel insurance
Our home is in the heart of Abernethy Forest, with the Nethy river running along the bottom of the garden. However, there are many easy level tracks round the beauticful lochs (lakes) for those seeking something less demanding, or who wish to cycle, bike hire is available locally. The double bedroom is spacious and comfortable, facing south towards the river and garden and in good weather you can sit outside on the veranda. The bathroom, with shower over the bath is across the hall, approximately one meter and is for your exclusive use. We do not take children as the house is not designed for them and we have no equipment; also we have a very hot woodstove, many low shelves, a dog and a river at the bottom of the garden. The kitchen is not available to guests.

  • We had a real good time. Comfy bed, breakfast, and conversation that kept rolling. Patricia and Neil are really approachable and couldn’t want to assist you more. I mean, how many hosts offer you their spare diamond jewellery?? If I wasn’t so kitted out, I might have accepted. Silver isn’t my colour anyway. Thanks again guys!

    Kris2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia was a welcoming and friendly host. She made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. She and her husband gave us lots of helpful information about things to do, places to visit and places to eat. Their property is charming and in a lovely location for exploring the area.

  • Wonderful place where you can meet friendly people, quite place, great breakfast.. and a dear behind the window. Absolutely recommend to anyone!

    Tomasz2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We felt so warm and welcome in Patricia‘s home. This was a stop on our way from Edinburgh through Speyside and up to Thurso. From the perfect location nestled amongst the trees beside the creek, to your cosy and well appointed bedroom and spotless bathroom - It was far more than we were expecting from any airbnb. We loved the chat over tea and bickies, cuddles with Murphy in front of the fire and the breakfast was incredible. Our only regret was not staying longer. We would highly recommend this room for anyone looking for a cosy getaway on their road trip.

    Phillip2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a welcoming and comfortable place to stay - exactly as described. The hosts were very helpful and friendly - lots of chat!

  • A wonderful room in a beautiful house that sits beside a river. Patricia and Neil were wonderful hosts, the breakfast was delicious, and it was very clean. We would highly recommend it.

  • This was the best AirBnb experience I've had so far! Patricia and Neil are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Not only that but their house is beautiful, full of cool art, a pretty garden with a river flowing trough the back and perfectly located if you are looking to explore Cairngorms National Park.

  • Good place to stay if you love being into nature. Really peaceful, Susan is a great host and very welcoming! The Den is clean and cosy, we enjoyed our stay. Emilie & Pierrick

    Emilie-Louise2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Den is a wonderful, cozy place with incredible views of lichen-covered trees right on its doorsteps. The host, Sue, is or has the most incredible cleaner, and made us feel so very welcome. There is a fully equipped kitchen for those wishing to make their own meals (we managed to cook a whole Christmas dinner!) and for those wishing to dine out, there is a comprehensive list of nearby spots compiled by Sue. A few things to note for those looking to book this place: it is, like most places in the Cairngorms, not exactly accessible without a car; the Den is an annex to the host's house and therefore the occasional dog bark can be heard through the shared wall; and the Den is perhaps on the smaller side (though it felt average for 2 city dwellers living in a 1 bedroom flat). Those things considered, it is lovely place to stay with so many incredible things to see and do within a quick drive. 12/10; would stay there again.

  • Had a great time in Susan's place. Its in a really relaxing location right in the woods. Perfect base for exploring the cairngorm and some great roadtrips

    Jason2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in the middle of the forest. We completely fell in love with 'forest village' Nethy bridge. The cottage has all the utilities you might need, a lot of privacy, views on the woods and Susan is an absolutely fantastic host, making sure you get the most out of your trip by providing advice on whatever it is that you would like to do. Above combination made this stay the absolute best of our trip. Book this thing and stay a while :)

Cottage 1 is part of Inshriach Estate, a small working farm, hospitality business and home of Inshriach Gin. There are beautiful views over the Monadhliaths and Cairngorms and immediate access to spectacular walking, mountain biking and snowsports. We also border the River Spey on which you can fish. Inshriach Estate and the Cottage are an adventure and a bit different. If you are willing to embrace that, you will love it. We are 4 miles south of Aviemore and 1 hr from Inverness Airport.
The cottage is basic but charming. It is an old building with no central heating but there is a good log burner, electric radiators in every room and an electric blanket. It gets very cosy with these going but please don't imagine the cottage to be a naturally warm place. There is no stand-up shower - the ceilings are too low - but there is a beautifully hot bath and an electric shower head that can be used while in the bath.
  • We had an amazing stay in the cottage. Lizzie and Walter are welcoming and friendly. The cottage is around 10 minutes drive from Aviemore and the Cairngorm mountain range. The house was cosy and really warm when the fire is lit. There was nothing else we needed for a fun winter weekend. We’ll definitely be back!

    Rob2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet little place away from it all. Lovely and clean, and though quite chilly in Febuary, the hot water bottles were a thoughtful and useful touch!

  • This is our third time at the cottage and it’s still as lovely as ever. Great walks from the house, an amazing sauna and a lovely fire and huge bath to come home to!

    Laura2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and cosy stay at Lizzy and Walters farmhouse cottage in January. The woodburner was the perfect way to warm up after a days hiking. There is also a river to dip into if youre feeling brave, with a sauna and hot tub!

  • Louise's place is amazing, if you're in the area I'd definitely recommend staying here! The fact that she popped out when she saw us arrive to show us about and had lit the fire ready (a welcome gesture since we arrived much later than planned) was next level hostess, and the place was spotless and well organised. All in all, a great find :)

Dell Lodge, always before the family home has recently undergone a beautiful restoration; stripped back to its core and introduced to simple luxury and quirky furnishing. Accommodating up to nine guests, Dell Lodge sits strong with sun filled views south to the Cairngorms and now offers a wonderful accommodation.
The "big house" is incredible - a wonderful, thoughtful and sensitive renovation. Country style modern luxury with space, comfort and with stunning, stripped back class. Enter the lodge through the south facing sun-filled porch packed with geraniums and into the high ceiling Georgian rooms of the original family home. Through the cosy lounge with vintage library and wood burning stove and into the large dining kitchen with long farmhouse table exposed original pine beams and granite walls. From the entrance hall a grand winding staircase leads you past a beautiful timber lined wet room, a traditional bathroom with claw foot bath and up to the first floor. Here there are two large king-size double rooms with brass beds, duck down duvets, stripped pitch pine floors and elegant cornicing. Upstairs again to two sweet Victorian doubles in the eaves, both with additional single beds and great views south to the Cairngorms. Dell Lodge can connect up internally with both West Dell and Little Dell allowing a total of seventeen guests to share this great, sociable space.
The Dell sits in three acres of mature grounds, dominated by the enormous back lawn and surrounded by 200-year-old towering trees. The Dell was originally built to house the head forester of Seafield Estate who kindly planted many of the different species towering head and shoulders above the house today. Beech and Copper Beech, Horse Chestnut, Oak and the fragrant Lime, which has been known to ‘calm ones nerves by simply walking beneath’ The Dell was also once home to William Forsyth, author of ‘In the Shadow of Cairngorm’ a good solid holiday read published in 1900 describing the people and legends of the area as they were at that time. In the 1960’s the Dell was bought by John and Elizabeth Fleming who saved the building then riddled with rot and carefully set about restoring and converting it into the business it is today. Son John took the helm on their retirement, followed by granddaughter Polly and husband Ross who look after the business now. Sitting just out with the village and in amongst the grazing fields the Dell presents a very peaceful spot. The former Seafield nursery and the expansive Abernethy Forest provide a network of wonderful winding footpaths, most of which are also great on a bike and even better with a dog. (Please note that during nesting season, early March – late July it’s best to keep your dog close by or on a lead) Nethy bridge village centre is a 20-minute walk from the Dell either by riverside walk, forest wander or scenic amble down the road taking in some of the beautiful architecture of old Nethy. The village, which has been a popular holiday favourite since the Victorian times remains unspoilt and is a quiet, friendly place. The River Nethy tumbles down through the village and is crossed by one of Telford’s great bridges. Come summer 2016 we are hoping to have a small cafe / deli along with a new cafe / restaurant in the village. Alongside a very well stocked village store and post office, there is a fantastic butcher, ‘Mr Mustards’ offers wonderful local meats and a good selection of fresh vegetables. The Mountview Hotel serves great evening meals and there is a public bar within the Nethy Bridge Hotel. Activity wise, there is a tennis court, bowling green, a beautiful 9 hole golf course and a small swimming pool at the Abernethy Outdoor Centre. Explore Abernethy have marked out 45km of trails around the village and have a great visitor centre and ranger service in the village hall. Nethy Bridge is great base for exploring the Cairngorm National Park and beyond.

The cottage is very suitable for families with children. The village its located in has shops, restaurants and pubs. As seen on the pictures, the cottage is decorated very lovely and the fireplace is especially comfortable during cozy winternights. We will be back in the future

  • Conifer cottage is a great place for exploring the Cairngorms, it is tucked away from the Main Street and feels peaceful and private, yet is within walking distance of shops, cafes and great walks. The cottage is cosy, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Tom and Fi are friendly and quick to respond to messages etc. We had a lovely stay here and would recommend to others.

A perfect little self contained studio flat adjoining our own house. We have recently refurbished this area to a high standard with open plan kitchen/dining and cosy bed area. This studio is perfect for couples or solo travellers who are looking for time away in a gorgeous area. With lots to offer whether it is a romantic weekend away or a walking/skiing/outdoor trip, Aviemore and the surrounding areas has it all to offer. There are plenty of options for eating out or you can just relax in the comfort of your accommodation.
We stay in a really quiet, scenic part of town just 5 minutes away from the championship Spey valley golf course and an abundance of nature walks. Only a 15 minute walk into the town you have the best of both worlds
  • Lovely studio. Super clean and modern. Ideal location and great parking. Very happily stay again.

  • We had a perfect stay at Emily’s accommodation and we can highly recommend to stay there during a trip to Aviemore and the Cairngorms

    Alina2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the studio! The space is used incredibly well, so it felt very roomy. The decor is stylish, we really appreciated the cleanliness and the very hot shower was great after a cold day Skiing in the mountain. Location wise it’s about a 20-30 minute walk into town, we did a mixture of walking and taxis - local taxi into town is about £7-£8. It’s 5 minutes walk to the Cairngorm brewery which is a must visit for a pint and route 7 cafe which does a good breakfast. The hosts provided leaflets and info on the local area which we found really useful. Would love to stay again in the future

    Natasha2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great little studio apartment with everything you could need for a cosy stay in Aviemore. The shower is amazing! Less than a half an hour walk into the centre of Aviemore, there is also a chip shop, pizza place and Coop less than 10 mins away. We did some nice walks around the local golf course too.

    Bethany2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s studio is self contained so overs great privacy, was spotlessly clean with all the amenities you’d need for cooking, microwave and with a fridge/freezer. I’m really fuzzy about showers and the shower was fantastic plenty of room and power from the nozzle. I’d highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • The place was perfect. So stylish, beautiful small touches that make it the cosiest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The sauna was amazing, the bed incredibly comfortable and had everything you could possibly want. I can’t wait to return

    Anna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy conversion is amazing. Such a great place to unwind and you can’t beat the sauna after a day on the slopes!

    Emma2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Broomfield Bothy. It’s a lovely cosy property with stylish decor and a great feel. The Sauna just tops it, off especially if you get very Scottish weather. Communication and check-in was flawless. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, highly recommended.

    Daniel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Recently updated, everything nice and cozy and clean. Good backyard for dogs (although beware the busy road that the house sits on). Very friendly hosts. Good kitchen, with whiskey and tea available for guests. Very comfortable beds and great shower. The sauna was really nice in the winter after a long hike. I brought my own towels for my dogs so as to not use their nice, white towels. Netflix/Prime/iPlayer available on TV, which was really nice. Wi-fi spotty but works - don’t expect to work from home here, but you can get by for basic needs. I didn’t have mobile service in the home, but my friend did.

    Emiliana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Helen and Ben's, it is only a stone's throw from Aviemore and there are lots to do around. Everything in the bothy is as described and are very clean. It is very tastefully furnished, the bedding and linen is one of the best we have come across! The kitchen is well equipped for us to make all our meals and the sauna is amazing, especially after a day out and about. We enjoyed watching the birds just outside the bedroom in the mornings and we were lucky to be able to see the sunrise from the bay windows. Don't forget to head out to see the stars at night, it was absolutely spectacular. As mentioned in the description, it is next to the A95, light sleepers may want to bring earplugs, but that did not affect our stay at the Bothy. I would definitely recommend Broomfield Bothy.

  • This was perfection. We absolutely loved it. The house was in a perfect location which meant we could walk everywhere but at night it was so quiet and secluded that we slept soundly. The house was clean, spacious, homely, comfortable, had everything we needed and the grounds were fantastic for letting the children play. We will definitely be back.

As the name suggests, Little Dell is our perfect romantic retreat for two with woodburning stove and tall Victorian windows overlooking the back lawn.
The original pitch pine floor leads from the garden entrance past the bathroom and into the open plan living area with vintage style kitchen, cocktail cabinet and cosy lounge. Around the corner and into a sweet double room with views East beyond the bird table.
Alongside a very well stocked village store and post office, there is a fantastic butcher, ‘Mr Mustards’ offers wonderful local meats and a good selection of fresh vegetables. Come summer 2016 the butcher will have expanded to include a small cafe and deli and there is a second cafe to open in the village shortly.
  • The Little Dell is a wonderful, cosy place to call home in a beautiful part of the world. We were traveling with our 8 month old daughter and found the space was perfect to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Nethy Bridge. Polly and her team made us feel really welcome and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the fireplace and super comfortable bed. If we ever return to the Cairngorms we would definitely stay here again.

    Alice2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Dell is a picturesque getaway. We absolutely loved our time here and Ross, Polly, and Wendy could not have been more accommodating. Wendy even met us upon arrival with freshly baked brownies! There is so much to see and do in the area (distillery tours, ski mountain, hikes, activities at Rothiemurchus) and Ross + Polly have a great little welcome book with ideas. The wood stove was a definite highlight and helped to warm the little space up. The property is stunning and the kitchen has everything you need. We will be back!!!

    Hayden2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Dell is set in the most incredible part of Scotland, close to so many Cairngorms attractions yet also super cozy to chill and get away from it all. It's THE cottage of all cottages. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer.

  • Betula really exceeded all of our expectations! It is beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The photos don’t do it justice. The location is also perfect, in the beautiful Scottish countryside, with lovely walks on the doorstep. We really enjoyed exploring the natural environment and seeing the wildlife, we were even visited by a very friendly pheasant! Nairn is a short drive away, with it’s stunning sandy beach. Anna was very quick to communicate and came to welcome us on arrival. We were very comfortable in the cabin, the heating worked perfectly (underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom!) the shower had good pressure and the beds were comfy! I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s definitely one of the best Airbnb places I have stayed in. We have already discussed a return trip!

  • Karen’s place is a beautifully renovated old building with a cafe downstairs. The space was large and comfortable with a couple of chairs to relax in as well as a sparkling clean en-suite and king sized bed. Check in was easy. Location was very quiet and idyllic and across the road from a beautiful old hotel with great food and Karen gave us a 15% discount card to top it off. There is a neighbourhood sized Spar supermarket also just across the bridge. The shared kitchen was great, well equipped and really clean. We didn’t do this but there was breakfast that you could order to have in the cafe as reasonable prices. We had a short but great stay.

    Leigh2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room with a nice seating area. The en-suite also has a bath which is a rare find these days! There was also use of a communal kitchen which was well-appointed. The breakfast was great - order the night before and it is all ready for you in the morning in the cafe. The cafe is great and have been a regular visitor there!
