Beautiful PRIVATE studio apartment at back of 3 acre property, HWY 6 Hepworth. You can self check-in & self-isolate here. Studio has a kitchen, living area, TV & gas fireplace. Great for couples retreat. Property connects to Northern Dunes Golf Club & is 5 min from Bruce Ski Club's Nordic Centre. It's 1 min from Tim Hortons, 7 min from Sauble Beach, 10 from Wiarton & 20 from Owen Sound. Seasonally, you can golf, ski, snowshoe, swim, or hike the Bruce Trail. ALL backgrounds welcome. 420 friendly.
We’re living through a scary time. If you’re looking for a private place where you can enjoy nature, watch movies and hang out with some dwarf goats (because who doesn’t need some goat therapy), this is the place. Our studio apartment is separate from the main house in a building at the back of the property that also has a garage and workshop. The studio is private and entirely yours for the duration of your stay. We offer self check-in so no need to see even your hosts if you don’t want to. We also thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire space after every stay. *At this stage, we prefer to accommodate only people who do not need to travel far to get here or alternatively to accommodate only people who are travelling for essential reasons, especially those who are doing work related directly or indirectly to the containment of the virus. Please follow the regulations and requirements for travel laid out by the government. There is a couch, so if a third person is willing to sleep on a couch, then a third person is allowed to stay at no additional charge, assuming they fully understand that the couch is standard, not pull-out. If a third person is coming, let us know when you book and we'll leave extra linens, blankets and pillows. There is a flat screen TV, a DVD player, and lots of DVDs. The living area includes a gas stove/fireplace. The Kitchen includes a Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, Kettle, Keurig coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available to all guests. Bed linens, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Wifi is available, but it comes from the main house, so it works better as you get closer to the kitchen window. It works well for surfing, but it’s not appropriate for streaming videos or using netflix. *Note that this means the smart tv cannot stream netflix. There is no smoking of any kind inside but the property is 420 friendly. There is a private patio immediately outside the French doors should you wish to partake.
Hepworth has a Tim Horton's, a convenience store with a small grocery section (1 minute walk away), and a gas station. There is also a golf club and a cross country ski and snowshoe club. The convenience store is also a post office and an LCBO. Sauble Beach is 7 minutes by car, Wiarton is 10 minutes, Owen Sound is 20 minutes, Lion's Head is 40 minutes, and Tobermory is a bit more than an hour (times are approximate). Hepworth is in the Bruce Peninsula, so there are many Bruce Trail access points within a short driving distance. You can also visit the numerous waterfalls located in Grey/Bruce, including Inglis Falls.
  • Really amazing space and property to spend the night. Very private & it was exactly the place we were looking for. We would definitely return for a stay in Kats guesthouse in the future! 10/10 experience :)

  • Very cute and cozy! We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend :) it was nicely decorated/clean and the host was very kind to let us know how road conditions were and recommended some places to eat when we asked. We ended up snowed in during the morning, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time! The goats were fun to see and my daughter really enjoyed them :) Thank you for a great stay!

Quiet cul de sac in Brooke, near the Marina, with a great view of Georgian Bay. Easy access to the walking and bike path to downtown, along the water. Across from the Salmon Spectacular Tent, Summerfolk, and Kelso beach, with kids water feature.
Enjoy your own entrance to this cozy basement unit, come and go as you please. It is located conveniently in a quiet cul de sac across from the Marina, next to Kelso Beach, on the west side of Owen Sound. Conveniently across the road from the Salmon Spectacular tent and Summerfolk. Anyone over 6'2" may find the bedroom doorway a little low. The floors can be cold which is lovely in the summer but please bring slippers in the wintertime. Large tiled bathroom with unique counter and two sinks. Large bedroom with a Queen size bed. Kitchen with sink, small fridge, microwave, toaster oven and hot plate. TV, Netflix and WiFi. Pet friendly, small carpets/no carpets. Parking in driveway, bus stop across the street. Fenced in backyard with picnic table and pet friendly. No smoking. We have a new Tan Standard Poodle who is also a service dog for my daughter, very lovable, young with energy and learning manners.
We are in a cul de sac off the Eddie Sargent Parkway with easy walking access to the Marina, the Salmon Spectacular, Summerfolk, a Soccer field, Julian Park for baseball and kids playground as well as Kelso Beach with the kids water area. The summer of 2015 saw record high water levels so the beach which we have enjoyed at Kelso is under water, but you can swim or you can enjoy Sauble Beach just 20 minutes away on the Lake Huron side.
  • It's a very nice and clean private apartment provided with all the required amenities that is worth the price. Specially the host who is really lovely and kind.

  • My husband, toddler and I stayed for just one night and it was perfect. As Virginia had warned us and as is clear in her posting, her place isn’t perfectly set up for small children because there are stairs inside and my little guy could cause trouble in the bathroom if we left the door open. But she generously allowed us stay the night anyways and it was exactly what we needed and for an excellent price (and we weren’t there long enough for my adventurous toddler to wreak any havoc!). She also was incredibly kind and even gave us a gift for our little guy! FYI, as is clear in the posting, it doesn’t have a big fridge/freezer or a stove/oven. So don’t miss that bit if you are requiring one! For us, we knew that’d be ok for our short stay and it was fine. The small fridge, hot plate, toaster oven and microwave were all we needed. Definitely would stay again for short stays with the toddler or longer ones without!

    Samantha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean. Quiet area close to the shore.

  • The description was spot on. House number is hard to see it is on the Gate but that was not a issue as she was waiting for us as we drove by. Highly recommend great space. Thanks

  • A perfect cottage stay for your Bruce adventures.

    Petr2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I spent two nights here and it was great! We arrived a bit later than expected, so they turned on the fireplace for us to make sure the cabin was warm for our arrival. It's a cute guest house with two beds in the loft - perfect for two-three travellers. We spent part of the morning exploring the land with the snowshoes they left out for us, which was a nice unexpected adventure :) Thanks so much for having us!

    Paula2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This little log cabin was a fantastic winter retreat in a picturesque location! The gas fireplace keeps you warm without fuss while casting its unmistakably hypnotic glow. The space inside is bright and well laid out, with several nooks and corners to settle into with a good book and a drink. The entire place was immaculate and well-maintained. While it's not too far from the main road, the noise coming into the cabin was never louder than a whisper. An ideal spot with excellent hosts!

    Andre2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very cosy. It was the perfect place for a rainy day. Beds are comfortable. Doug and Ruth were super helpful and provided us with advise on hiking in the area.

    Ciara2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beth and Doug are amazing hosts, they make us feel very comfortable, they gave us very good directions on how to get to the cabain. They took care of us very good and had a very nice gesture with us and our son for christmas. Regarding the cabain is very unique and cozy place, if what you need is spend a couple of days of relaxing and connect with nature this is the place you must visit. We would love to come back very soon.

    Jorge2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect getaway place for up to six with a great host that are very communicative and available. The place was spotless, everything worked perfectly, there was an extremely detailed notebook about taking care of the place, using the utensils, and how to make use of the entertainment system. There were also lots of brochures regarding things to do and see in Owen Sound. Both the host welcomed us and made us feel at home.

  • It was a delight to stay at Bill and Mary's guest suite. Mary kindly picked up some gluten free breakfast items for me. We took short day trips hiking around the Bruce Peninsula so it was great to have a cozy place to relax in the evenings.

Also, the place was extremely clean and was already heated up. All we had to do was basically eat and sleep! Definitely staying again next time we visit.

  • My boyfriend and I decided to do a last minute trip in North and found Emily’s place. So glad we did! Such a cute space! There’s a fireplace, the decor is so nice, and she even made us heart shaped banana chocolate chip bread for Valentine’s Day ❤️ couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thanks Emily!

  • A lovely retreat for a weekend in Owen Sound. We wanted to place to relax before and after some local hiking/snowshoeing. Easy to cook our own meals, read and watch Netflix (although the second night it froze so we just ended up using our own computer/data). The place has everything you need. Excellent value.

This is the perfect space for a getaway for individuals or couples to have a peaceful experience exploring nature, enjoy the water. Guests are more than welcome to bring their own canoes, paddle boards, kayaks, or tubes/floatation devices to lounge around in the water off the boat launch. Motorized water vessels are not permitted. There are Approx. 5 km of privately owned trails for hiking, that allows you to explore the unique nature and wildlife Bruce & Grey County has to offer. Cooking by BBQ or campfire, with all campfire wood provided. Microwave and Fridge/Freezer provided inside. Coffee maker, tea, coffee, sugar and cream provided as well.
This is a privately owned lake that offers peace and tranquility on a small dead end road. Close to Sauble Beach (15 minutes), Wiarton (10 minutes) Tobermory (1 hour) and Owen Sound (20 minutes).
  • This place was just what my boyfriend and I needed - the perfect little get away. The location is amazing, so peaceful and beautiful. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a gorgeous and super clean space. The owners are very friendly and really want to you to enjoy your visit. We cooked on the barbecue everyday and enjoyed a fire every night. Sauble Beach is a short drive away and Tobermory is about an hour drive which makes for a great location. We would love to go back one day.

    Melanie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was lovely and simple. What you see is what you get.

    Selena2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great barn on the lake, beautiful property. Nice get away from the city, close proximity to Sauble Beach, and Tobmory is just an hour away. The property itself was beautiful, right on the lake, fire pit and bbq available. The barn was clean and stylish, (it's the lower-level of the barn, no access to the top level). Just gets really dark at night since your surrounded by trees, theres no light outside, so it got a little spooky for a city girl haha.

    Andreia2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great space! 100% recommend

    Kaitlin2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this cabin. It goes back to basics - gets you away from technology and you get to enjoy the fire pit. The owners provide some cool extras like wine, fire wood, and private hiking trails. They live right up the hill if you need anything. They even gave us some of their private stash of venison - which was incredibly delicious.

Beautiful glamping bunkie with loft on 3 acre property, Hwy 6 Hepworth. Bunkie has a double bed in the loft. On main level, find a dresser, desk, chair & pullout couch. Off grid but supplied with a power box for charging devices. Outhouse with compost toilet & outdoor sink & shower are shared with guests in the other bunkies. Property connects to NorthernDunes Golf Club. 1min from TimHortons, 7 from SaubleBeach, 10 from Wiarton & 20 from Owen Sound. ALL backgrounds welcome. 420 friendly.
This bunkie offers "glamping" at its finest. It is separate from the main house and entirely yours for the duration of your stay. As the Covid-19/Coronavirus situation continues around the world, we understand that you may wish to isolate yourself from others. You can self check-in and self-isolate as well if you are willing to forgo using the shared facilities on the property and treat this like a more traditional camping experience. If you do make this choice, then it is possible to avoid all contact with other people, including your hosts, while you are here. The loft does not have railings so it is not safe for children. This bunkie will comfortably accommodate 2 people, however, there is a pull-out couch on the main level so up to 4 are allowed if you are willing to have 2 sleep on a pullout couch, and you understand that it will be tight with that many. Outside, there is a compost toilet in an outhouse, as well as an open air shower (surrounded with fencing and a curtain for privacy), plus an outdoor sink. There is also an outdoor kitchenette beneath a gazebo (with a roof, but not fully enclosed), equipped with a kettle, a coffee maker, a water dispenser, a very small fridge containing milk and cream, and complimentary coffee and tea. Both the washroom and kitchenette are shared with other guests, but cleaned and sanitized often. Your bunkie has a picnic table and BBQ outside. There is also a large communal firepit in the open space outside the bunkies. And make sure you check out the "Secret Garden" - follow the path into the woods beside the "Wagamese Bunkie". There is a hammock and benches in garden. Bed linens, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Wifi is available, but it comes from the main house via a wifi extender, so it will not work for streaming. The kitchen gazebo has a power outlet you can use to power devices and each bunkie is supplied with a small power box. Bunkies are lit with battery operated lamps. They are off-grid and have no other source of power. There is no smoking inside but the property is 420 friendly.
Hepworth has a Tim Horton's, a convenience store with a small grocery section (1 minute walk away), and a gas station. There is also a golf club and a cross country ski and snowshoe club.
  • Looking to switch off from all the go go busy life?! This is the place, reconnect with nature, switch on self care! Perfect Glamping, beautiful area for a bonfire. Lovely secret garden! Great host, fast response! Cant wait to go back in Summer! Unplug unwind!

  • I loved my stay in Atwood Bunkie! It's adorable and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches (eg three books by Margaret Atwood). It's designed as a writing retreat and so there's a properly comfortable desk chair, but if actually recommend it to anyone who's happy with relatively limited space (fine for one but would be cosy for two if it rained). This was a dream location and my favourite stop so far on my road trip.

  • Everything was as promoted, and the place was clean and cute.

  • Staying at kats place was awesome! It was super clean and very cozy! The outdoor shower was awesome! If we ever come back up this way we will defiantly stay here again! 10/10 would recommend! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay here! It exceeded our expectations!

    Cassidy2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most beautiful stays ever, the tiny house was so clean and well setup, the outdoor shower was amazing, and there was goats! The cabin with the fans actually became so cold we were wrapped up in blankets! The noise mentioned before is pretty well gone by the time you are ready for bed. It’s in the middle of everything, it’s a beautiful location. Honestly so excited to see this grow. Can’t wait to come back!

  • The bunkie is located in a very safe and clean park. It was exactly as the ad described.

  • What an amazing campground. Friendly people , lots to do and not a far drive to some major attractions. Would definitely stay again .

    Jennifer2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and surrounding area is just as pictured. Very unique and clean! Being alongside the little river is so calming. Just bring warm clothes and blankets as it gets chilly at night in the cabin and only mattresses are provided. Hospitality was amazing. Common bathrooms and showers very clean. The only downside is how close you are to the neighbours, you are practically sharing a campsite with neighbours on one side. But overall such a nice experience, would recommend.

    Sara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect as a camping site for beginners! Neighbors were very friendly and peaceful, which sends an atmosphere of safety!

    Aboodd2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly host and a good camping experience. An upgrade from a tent. Beautiful grounds.

    Erynn2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Was a last min reservation, we stayed at the Corbin Cabin and it was perfect. We wanted to get away from the city enjoy the night under the stars with a campfire and the location delivered. It is a family campground with tents and RVs so lots of people around but everyone obeyed by the park rules which made it very enjoyable. Only was able to stay the one night but will definitely return with family. The host was really nice, no complaints there. Thank you again 😊

    Ana2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Comfort camping with a roof over your head and a mattress under your back, in a densely populated but quiet, tidy and well organized family campground/mobile home park. Most people seemed settled there for the season or longer, but there were a few other travelers like us; everybody quite friendly! The cabin is clean like new, and has screened windows and a lantern provided. The site is very pleasant to hang out in, enjoy a campfire, etc, with surprisingly few mosquitos or other bugs. Clean showers and bathrooms nearby. The surrounding area has lots of lovely farmland, small towns, beaches and hiking to offer, but expect to drive some distance to reach them.

    Meera2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best and easiest camping experiences I’ve had. The location of the cabin is amazing right by water and there is so many activities you could do in the camp side and 15 min drive there is lots of falls and places to check out. The cabin makes everything so much easier since you don’t have to set up a tent and bed so you get to enjoy your time and soon as you get there. Highly recommend this for people that like camping but are too lazy ( like us) 😉 don’t forget pillow and blanket and bug spray. Can’t wait to go back

Rustic camping in a no service cabin. All the things a cmpground offers. Bingo. Rec hall. Horseshoes etc.
  • This place is in a quiet section of the campground. Exactly what we wanted, a place away from people. Be prepared it is the same as tent camping except you have a comfortable bed and a roof over head. No heat, no electricity, although electricity is wired, it’s just not connected. It would be nice if there was a carbon monoxide detector so you could leave your propane heater on. We would recommend to other campers.

    Edward2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The host was amazing . Very accommodating, great communication. Cabin is rustic but cozy and I would recommend it to anyone looking to do glamping or who wants to camp sans the tent ...

    Kristen2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for deluxe camping (ie without tent). Good amount of wood has a good price to make a fire in the evening.

    Alexandre2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfect for people who love camping, but hate the set up and tear down of a tent. We had the most relaxing weekend sitting around the campfire laughing with friends. I fell on the last day just before we left and cut my hands on the gravel. Some really nice campers helped me by cleaning and bandaging me up. Thank you so much for everything!!

    Jennifer2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great cabin to stay for one night. I liked a lot. I would recommend it to anyone who is camping and wanted to sleep in a cabin not in in Tent.

    Talal2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! The host was very on top of upkeeping the grounds and if there was a problem, you could directly talk with him during the day. The cabin was exactly as described though the light wasn't working at the time. Not a problem however because my friends and I were well prepped and enjoyed the serenity of the forest at night. Everyone was incredibly friendly on the campgrounds and there was a lot more included than I expected. Like a basketball court across the cabin area. If you're interested in camping and a calm space, seriously stay here. The beds were very comfortable and checkin was very easy. Definitely will stay again!

If you enjoy 'roughing it', stay in our beautiful log home from the late 1800's. It has been completely redone, maintaining all of the old character. It is nestled in the edge of the bush, that provides kilometres of hiking trails. The cabin is also situated on a pond so you can spend your days swimming, canoeing, fishing and exploring this nature lover's paradise. Spend your time here unplugging from your everyday life and reconnecting to the healing properties of a natural environment.
This cabin is truly off the grid. With no hydro, you will spend your evenings connecting around the wood fireplace with the light of lanterns and candles. We will provide a propane hot plate for preparing simple meals. There is a ladder leading to the sleeping loft with a child gate. There is no running water however there will be a supply of fresh water for drinking and cooking. There is a composting toilet located in the sleeping loft.
For the summer, we are located 40 minutes from Sauble Beach. The Grotto, in Tobermory, is located 1.5 hours from our property as well. In the immediate area of Owen Sound, there are several amazing waterfalls including Inglis Falls, Walters Falls, Jones Falls and Indian Falls. The Bruce Trail is located within 10 minutes as well. There are some beautiful golf courses located in the area as well. In the winter season, Blue Mountain is located 45 minutes away for Ontario's best skiing and snowboarding. Spend some time dining and shopping in the Village of Blue Mountain as well. The snowmobile trails are located right at the end of our road for all you adventure seekers. Harrison Park is known for its public skating rink and amazing tobogganing hill. There is no shortage of things to do in the beautiful Grey Bruce Area!
  • Cabin from a fairytale! Clean, well organized with very nice touches. Host is great as well. There are trails on the property that you can enjoy. We will come back for sure! Thank you

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. We took full advantage of cuddling by the wood stove with our books and really embraced the off-grid life at night with a glass of wine and a few puzzles! The cabin is set up well and offers what you think you might need. (wood, water, linens, cook ware, percolator, kettle, Coleman stove, bbq, snow shoes, snow discs, candles and lanterns etc...) just pack your food, toiletries, clothing and you're all set! We took advantage of Blue Mountain village to enjoy a nice Christmas dinner, which was only a 45 min drive from the cabin. ( and since we were in the area, we also spent a good portion of a day at the Scandinav Spa) When we crave to disconnect again, we will certainly look to come back to this cabin... maybe try it out in the summer!

    Irene2019-12-28T00:00:00Z

This listing is closed for the winter. It will re-open on June 4, 2020. Balmy Beach is a 10 minute drive along the west harbour from Owen Sound. The light-filled guesthouse is beside the main house but private. It is set in natural gardens with a rural reserve behind. It's a great place to stay for a night or two while exploring the Bruce peninsula or hiking on the Bruce Trail. My place is for those who enjoy nature and quiet surroundings - it is not suitable for late night party people.
The cabin is built from panabode cedar logs with a small deck at the front. It is a studio (no separate bedroom), measuring about 23 feet by 13 feet. It has a kitchenette and an alcove for a closed off shower and toilet. Note the space has only one sink, which is in the little kitchenette. The cabin has one queen-sized bed. All linens are provided, as is kitchen equipment, including a fridge, coffee-maker, small stove and microwave. Breakfast is supplied - with food put out in the cabin before arrival.
There is access to the lake along a public driveway less than a minute's walk down the road from my property. There is no real beach, but good views and swimming is lovely from mid-July to the end of August. The cabin is also about a 50 minute walk (or a 3 minute drive) from the Clubhouse at Cobble Beach golf course and resort. The terrace there is a great place to have a drink and take in the view out over the lake. The Indian River Falls is about a one minute drive (or an hour's walk) going the other way from the cabin towards town. Once you get to the parking lot, it is about a 15 minute walk along the river and up through the woods to get to the Falls. Not to be missed (even in high summer when the water level is likely to be low). Going up the peninsula, there are many wonderful short hikes and views within a half-hour's drive. Check out Grey County Tourism - Skinner's Bluff scenic lookout for example. Tobermory is a one and one-half hour's drive north from my place. Southampton on Lake Huron is a half hour's drive west across the peninsula.
  • Cozy, clean & comfortable! 💖

  • Shawna’s place was comfortable, spacious and exactly what we needed for a hiking weekend. Shawna was also very helpful with things to do in the area. The wifi doesn’t reach all areas of the guest house, but it was easy enough to work around. Also a small breakfast was provided on the first day, which was helpful for us.

  • Shawna is a very warm person. We felt immediately comfortable. The cabin is in her wonderful garden. We were able to switch off very well and relax. The distance to the next trails is about one hour - not out of the world! It was a wonderful time!

    Lea2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil getaway location close to all the amenities of Owen Sound. Perfect for couples or solo travelers with a car. Central to many locations for exploring a fascinating diversity of unique geologic and ecologic points of interest. The town of Owen Sound is also a relic of Canada's industrial ascension during the heyday of great lakes shipping. Looking at the eroding limestone cliffs of the escarpment overhanging Georgian Bay that used to be a tropical sea bed hundreds of millions of years ago; observing the boulder-strewn shore of Lake Huron where rocks were moved during the ice-age over 10, 000 years ago; seeing the sites of pre-existing massive industrial operations; all these experiences culminate to a point of meditation: change is constant and the ego is small against the inexorable forces of time.

    Andrew2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Shawna’s place is in a beautiful location, amongst gardens and mature trees. The cottage itself is cute and clean, she has provided everything you will need. We arrived to find chocolate zucchini bread and plums on the counter. She had home made bread and home made jams, as well as a fully stalked fridge for breakfast. We highly recommend staying at Shawna’s.

    Candace2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Shawna's place turned out to be even better than we expected. It was very clean, cozy and the area is very quiet . We really enjoyed our time and Shawna was always available and she is a very lovely host We highly recommend

Make Butchart Estate your own, self-contained family retreat for a few weeks. You'll have the house to yourselves to share precious time with family in a beautiful and well-equipped heritage home. Inside, enjoy the gourmet kitchen, relax in your own private indoor pool & hot tub*, curl up by the fireplace, play board games galore. Free wifi. Beautiful nature walks nearby for outdoor exercise. Enjoy a slower pace, and treasure family time together. (*expected to be operational by mid-April)
Spring 2020: At this time, Butchart is booking longer stays only, as we work to protect the health and safety of our cleaning staff and guests. We make every effort to provide a clean and safe environment, including a lengthy "rest period" between stays. We can provide contact information for our cleaning service on request. About our home: This heritage-designated Queen Anne style home was built for the Butchart family in 1891. The Butcharts became famous after they left Owen Sound for Victoria, B.C., where they developed their famous "Butchart Gardens". But they were gardeners here in Owen Sound too: this home once featured an attached conservatory for growing flowers. That area now houses an indoor pool and hot tub, which guests can enjoy year-round! The historic Butchart Estate features beautiful craftsmanship and many architectural details: including elaborate leaded- and stained-glass windows, handsome woodwork on the main level, and a stunning main staircase with a bronze "Lady Liberty" on the newel post. Guests can settle into the original four family bedrooms; all are ensuite, and bathrooms feature most of the original fixtures. The recently renovated kitchen includes an electric downdraft cooktop, three ovens, espresso machine and a professional series refrigerator/freezer, as well as an island for informal dining for three or four. The formal diningroom - with a vintage Empire chandelier and a beautiful stained-glass bay window - seats 8.
Spring 2020: Please note that some information below may be impacted by the current travel restrictions. Butchart is an easy walk to the restaurants and attractions in the downtown (we are on 5th Ave. East and the main street is 2nd Ave. East). We have several great independent restaurants and coffee shops: including Bean Cellar and Frog Pond for your mid-morning cuppa, Casero Kitchen Table (fresh Mexican) and Bleeding Carrot (vegetarian) for a memorable lunch, and the Curry House or Norma Jean's Bistro for dinner. All are within 4 blocks of Butchart. Pick up groceries on the east hill at Zehrs, or downtown at the Metro by the harbour: right next to where the famous ChiCheemaun ferry is docked for the winter! Owen Sound is a surprisingly vibrant cultural hot-spot. Guests can find live music every night on the weekend: always within walking distance. And don't miss the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, just over the bridge on the west side. Every Saturday morning, year-round, the downtown is bustling at the Owen Sound Farmers Market: the oldest farmers market in Canada. Just up the river on the south edge of town is Harrison Park: with lots of family activities, year-round. In summer, take a walk along the west side of the harbour and pop by the Marine and Rail Museum: celebrating our city's heritage and history as an important Great Lakes port. Past the Museum, you can keep walking until you reach Kelso Beach: with a splash pad and play area for little ones, the rock amphitheatre, and a small patch of sandy beach where you can launch a canoe or kayak. For the quintessential summer beach experience, head west; just 30 minutes away on Lake Huron is the world-famous Sauble Beach: the longest freshwater beach in the world. Just to the east, you can visit the Coffin Ridge winery in the old "Irish Block" on the escarpment, or hunt for fresh apples and baked goods in Meaford (the "Other Big Apple") on Georgian Bay. Get out your hiking boots and do a day on the Bruce Trail, or get in the car and take the Waterfall Tour: featuring seven waterfalls in this escarpment landscape. Don't miss the village of Kimberley, with its views of Old Baldy. Or point the car north: while the stunning Bruce Peninsula holds many charms in every season, it really comes alive once the ChiCheemaun departs its winter berth in Owen Sound and heads north to Tobermory again in late spring. The Bruce Peninsula is one of Canada's finest landscapes. Don't miss the Grotto (go early to beat the crowds for a chance to really enjoy this natural wonder). Stop for a bite in Lions Head (or catch the farmer's market down by the water on Saturday mornings). Explore Fathom Five, take a shipwreck boat tour, and climb the national park lookout tower. The village of Tobermory itself is a charming and picturesque harbour community. On your way north, take a side-trip to Cape Croker (Neyaashiinigmiing) and enjoy the gorgeous views on your way to Akiwenzie Fish, where you can buy fresh and smoked lake trout or whitefish from Andrew and Natasha, who operate one of the last remaining "one man, one boat" First Nations fishing operations in Ontario: selling to some of the top chefs in Canada.
  • Our stay at the Butchart Estate was amazing! It's truly an epic home. My wife and I stayed there with our wedding party during our wedding weekend and it offered us a great retreat from the busy-ness of the weekend. Staying here is very much worth the price and I would recommend staying here to anyone. Kimberley was a fantastic and attentive host. It was an easy, stress-free stay that truly contributed to our wedding weekend being successful!

Unfortunately we did run into some issues due to the weather, however one of the construction workers (Rob) really helped fix things & let us have a better stay! I would definitely recommend booking this place if you have the chance!

The spacious home includes a lovely screened porch which is across the street from the harbour- a perfect spot for your morning coffee. There is a small patio off the kitchen for relaxing after a day of hiking and site seeing. There is some traffic noise from the street.
The location is perfectly suited for enjoying all that Owen Sound has to offer including the harbour, rivers, parks, beautiful water falls, and is less than a minute walk to the historic downtown. It is the perfect base to explore the Bruce Peninsula - designated UNESCO Biosphere. Day trips to Wiarton, Sauble Beach, The Grotto, Lion’s Head, the Bruce Trail and Tobermory where an outdoor paradise awaits. In addition, it’s an easy drive to Blue Mountain and Collingwood for skiing.
  • Donna and Murray are amazing hosts. They made sure our stay was cozy and homely. Donna even helped us locate the house and made sure everything was available. Her personal notes and welcone treats were very sweet too Really enjoyed our stay. Must visit

  • This is a clean and comfortable home close to downtown and many of Owen Sound’s festival venues. Donna responded promptly to all our queries and helped us out when we got a bit lost getting to her place. We hope to stay here again.

  • I was very happy with our stay at Donna and Murray’s townhouse and would not hesitate to stay there again. 0n this trip, we travelled with our two adult children for an overnight trip in winter to visit relatives in Owen Sound. On past trips, we’ve rented several rooms at a local hotel and eaten most meals in restaurants. This time, though, we decided to book a house with sufficient bedrooms for everyone and a comfortable common space (living room, kitchen, dining room) that would allow us to invite family members to join us at “our” place to hang out and have a meal. The townhouse was spotless, the furniture (beds, living room couch and chair) was comfortable, and the kitchen/dining room contained everything we needed to cook, serve and enjoy a meal. Donna and Murray also thoughtfully provided tea, coffee, laundry detergent for the washer/dryer, etc. I also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Donna and Murray to arrange our stay. Thank you!

  • This farm house is incredibly cozy, clean and full of history. We felt so welcome that we decided to extend our stay. The house is conveniently located with easy access to Sauble beach and many other attractions on the peninsula, but also on a quiet and peaceful location for stargazing and relaxing. Reg gave us the best directions so we could use our time wisely to enjoy our family vacation. Highly recommended!

  • This is an authentic Canadian farmhouse. Very charming and clean. The host is very nice. He will give you great local tips. You will also learn a lot about the history of the house, old family albums and antique art works. Beds are clean & comfortable. My family & I enjoyed staying here very much!

    Sheena2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Old farmhouse is exactly what it is, no show or pretence. A relaxed space, morning coffee with Reg might have been the highlight of our vacation. The soft beds and quiet night led to the best nights sleep we've had in ages. Reg's insight helped us plan wonderful day trips away from the most crowded tourist spots. 10/10 would stay here again.

    Tindur Lilja2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I needed to catch the Chi-Cheemaun ferry the following morning and this old farm house is about an hour south of Tobermory, which is perfect me. It allowed me to enjoy the spectacle sunset at Sauble Beach. The place is rustic (as it should be) but clean. Reg has a worth of local knowledge and lots of stories. Make sure to set side some time to chat with him.

    Savio2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic trip over the long weekend to Reg and Marlene’s. They had so much local knowledge that really helped. Food was gorgeous for breakfast, a lovely selection each morning. Beds were so comfortable too. Very relaxed and secluded location! Rural and rustic opposite to a modern B&B, focusing on hospitality and friendliness. We will stay here again if and when we head north again.

The room, the kitchen and the bathrooms are well equipped and clean. Sim herself is a very friendly and helpful host. She gave us great recommendations for hikes and showed us her house with a lot of details and a great view from the rooftop balcony. We would stay there again anytime.

  • Sim is so nice and kind host. She explained everything clearly, and she was at the door to welcome us even though we booked airbnb just before a couple of days. She prepared for enough breakfast as well. You may need to share some space with others, but we didn’t see other guests. This house is so clean and quaint and has large back yard. Highly recommend!

  • This is a great spot to relax with kids. We were 2 families (4 adults, 3 kids under 7 and 1 12 years old). We did not feel crowded at all. We (the adults) got to relax during the kids were playing in the water. Everything is already there, Just need your clothes, witch is awsome with kids!!! Washer and dryer are also available!!! Know that if you want to visit Tobermory, it is an hour away, but for us we knew before we got there, so it was perfect for us. Kyle was available to anwswer are questions, I recommend this place, very quiet.

    Nancy2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very accommodating. We had to adjust our dates twice and he easily made the changes for us and refunded the money. He was available and accessible at all times to answer any questions that we had. Overall, the cottage was fantastic! It was clean and had an amazing waterfront property with a sound system, dock, and firepit. We also took advantage of the bikes that were in the garage. The location was amazing, along the Bay, with wonderful views, especially at sunset and the neighbours were all very friendly. The cottage was just a 10 minute drive to the town, which we found very convenient when looking for kayak rentals and the local Foodland for groceries. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend others to take advantage of Kyle's amazing cottage.

  • Pictures don't do this place justice! It was a bit windy when we were there so the water was a bit clouded most days, but one afternoon it cleared right up and the water was crystal clear and a beautiful blue! The main level porch, lower level and dock on the water offer a great view! The view from the master bedroom alone was amazing! Lindy had everything we needed inside and the area offers everything else you might want to explore! 5 minute drive offers some great hiking and beautiful areas to look out on Georgian Bay. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely return again!

    Courtney2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lindy’s place is beautiful. We loved all the different places to hang out - the fire pit, hot tub, dock - everything was so cozy and very “hygge” as the Danish say. Literally like a Home Sense store! Lindy was super fast at responding and very friendly. We would love to come back and stay at Lindy’s home.

  • Lindy’s place is great! The house is beautiful! The house amenities were wonderful. Hot tub, fire pit, kayaks and canoes for the lake, as well as outdoor lawn games made the weekend! An hour drive to the grotto and 10 minute drive to the caves and other hikes made it an ideal location! Lindy was a great host, very hospitable and very quick with communication! Would highly recommend!

    Sean2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at this perfect cottage. There is nothing more I can say that will explain how great this cottage is. It’s stylish decor, fully equipped kitchen (and I’m a chef, so you know I use everything) the wood burning fireplace, steps away from water, just perfection. We will be back 100%, we normally do winter cottage get aways, and this cottage meets all of our needs. Thank you to Steve and Jane for their immaculate communication and for hosting myself, and 5 of my favorite girls.

  • The cottage was just lovely - just rustic enough to feel far away from civilization but with enough creature comforts to still be an easy stay. It is better than the pictures!

    Hillary2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay! Steve and Jane are excellent hosts, very easy to communicate with. The cottage is fantastic, lots of thoughtful touches and a lovely space to spend a few days. The kitchen was super well equipped for a large group of us too!

  • Joan’s place was a great stop along our route to Bruce National Park. Joan’s place was clean and any concerns were met with quick responses and solutions. Lots of local information available and close to a grocery store. Joan was sure to make us feel right at home even leaving us with hand made loofahs. Would definitely recommend Joan’s place.

    Karissa2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was very accommodating! The place is very close to downtown and waterfront. The place is very clean for a basement suite.

  • If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place in the Bruce Peninsula, this is Joan's home. She really deserves the title of "superhost", because we quickly felt his availability and his generosity! The location is central to the main points of interest and especially very close to amenities, such as the grocery store, gas station, convenience store and even an LCBO everything is done on foot. In short, we recommend it!

    Mathieu2019-08-29T00:00:00Z

  • Adam's place was just as he described, it is a cute area and my friends enjoyed it. There is an amazing pizza place about 10 min away that we enjoyed as well.

    Sam2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was a lovely host, and very accommodating for our tight schedule. He even had a welcome sign on the door with my name on it! Everything was clean and tidy, and extremely cozy, too. Definitely a memorable stay.

    Harpreet Singh2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • It is exactly the same as what Adam described. The house is deep in the woods, which is the nature itself. There is a trail behind the house. Adam has a fire pit outside and he offers to make the fire. We rushed to this place from the camp site because of the sudden shower, we were tired out. We were not in the mood to make the fire and sit around it. But we appreciate for Adam’s offer. Adam is very responsive host and very nice. One thing is that mosquitoes are not kidding. But overall, we love this place.

Three bedroom waterfront home on scenic Georgian Bay just minutes outside of Owen Sound. The house sits on 3/4 acre lot with water / shore access directly in front of the house. The neighbourhood is predominantly year round residents with a handful of 3 season cottagers. Wonderful spot to watch the sunrise to the east or enjoy an evening shore fire after an awesome day enjoying the great outdoors the area has to offer. Great spot for day trips or simply relaxing at the shore
Side split home with large living / rec room at grade, kitchen, dining, formal living on second level (1/2 storey) and upper floor has 3 bedrooms and newly renovated bath. Home has been freshly renovated with new paint, new flooring, updated kitchen and new four (4) piece bath on top floor. Gorgeous views from Living / Dining. Spacious backyard that backs on to a wooded lot. Interlocking patio at the back provides a warm sheltered getaway when the breeze is blowing off the water.
Balmy Beach is on the outskirts of Owen Sound. There are two premier golf courses within a 5 min drive. Cyrpess Lake National Park is Unesco Heritage Site is an hour's drive away. Guests often take in site seeing on the Bruce Peninsula including day trips to Tobermory and/or visit Sauble Beach (20 min drive). Cottage is great for exploring the Bruce Peninsula or alternatively sitting at the shore and enjoying the peaceful of being "on" the water. Georgian Bay is a large body of water and leaves one the impression that they are at the ocean as opposed to a small bay / lake.
  • A nice plot right on the water. (a road separates the house from the coast, but there is very little adjacent traffic). On the coast there is a private terrace and fire pit. It's really like in the photos. A great house with lots of space. Behind a large garden with a terrace. Bob himself was not there, but answered most questions within minutes. If necessary, the mother-in-law who lives next door helps. Overall, highly recommended.

    Christine2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Confortable and spacious house located in a quite neighbourhood. You just have to cross the street to enjoy the deck on the bay. The view is amazing. Very convenient to discover the area (Sauble beach, Southampton, Southern Bruce Peninsula). We would come back anytime!

    Barbara2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place by the lake, friendly neighbours and great host

    Lina2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful spot and a large spacious home with everything you need. We will never stay in another hotel! This was our first Airbnb experience and loved it! Bob was a great host!!!! We loved the location! The view is spectacular!! If we are ever in this area again, we will be hoping to stay here again!

    Laureen2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and quiet. Serene view. Homey atmosphere.

    Terri2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A large and spacious cottage. Very clean and perfectly located on the water. We enjoyed watching the sun rise from the private dock. Would definitely rent again. Thank you!!!

    Marlene2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable stay. Unbeatable view. Plenty large for 4 people. There is some form of vented AC which is not listed in the ad. This is our second stay in one of Bob's balm beach houses.

    Shelly2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beyond amazing! It was our second time staying at Bob's residence, and we were completely astounded at how beautiful the place was! The place was clean, we were always taken care of, and the neighborhood was just amazing! If you ever do get a chance to stay here, I highly recommend it!! We will definitely be going again!

Beautiful glamping bunkie on 3 acre property off Hwy 6 Hepworth. Bunkie offers a double bed, dresser & desk with comfy chair. You can self check-in & self-isolate here. Off grid but supplied with a small power box for charging devices. Outhouse with compost toilet & outdoor sink & shower are 10 feet away. Property connects to Northern Dunes Golf Club. 1min from Tim Hortons, 7min from Sauble Beach, 10min from Wiarton. Golf, swim or hike the Bruce Trail. ALL backgrounds welcome. 420 friendly.
We’re living through a scary time. If you’re looking for a private place where you can enjoy nature while staying away from other people, this is the place. This bunkie offers "glamping" at its finest. It is separate from the main house and from our studio, and it's entirely yours for the duration of your stay. As the Covid-19/Coronavirus situation continues around the world, we ask that you isolate yourself from others while on our property. You can self check-in and self check-out here. Normally the outdoor washroom and kitchen are shared, but until this virus situation is over, they are only available for use by the guests staying in this bunkie - we can't share things right now, nor can we congregate, but we can smile and wave from a distance. Please do not approach anyone else on the property while you're here. Keep a wide berth from others. Generally, the property is well laid out, and we only have 2 rentals open for booking right now, rather than our usual 4. This bunkie is on one side of our property, at the back, our studio is at the other side of the property, and the main house is at the front. Overall, it's a large 3 acre space. This bunkie fits two people on one double bed. Outside, there is a compost toilet in an outhouse, as well as an open air shower (surrounded with fencing and a curtain for privacy), plus an outdoor sink. Please note that we do not currently have hot water, but the bunkie has a heater in it where you can warm up after a cold (and probably quick) shower. There is also an outdoor kitchenette beneath a gazebo (with a roof, but not fully enclosed), equipped with a kettle, a coffee maker, a water dispenser, a very small fridge containing milk and cream, and complimentary coffee and tea. Your bunkie has a picnic table and BBQ outside. And make sure you check out the "Secret Garden" - follow the path into the woods beside the "Wagamese Bunkie". There is a hammock and benches in the garden. Bed linens, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Wifi is available, but it comes from the main house via a wifi extender, so it will not work for streaming. The kitchen gazebo has a power outlet you can use to power devices and your bunkie is supplied with a small power box. The bunkie is lit with battery operated lamps. It is off-grid and has no other source of power, except an extension cord for running the heater only. There is no smoking inside but the property is 420 friendly. Please shut your windows if you are smoking on the porch for the comfort of future guests.
Hepworth has a Tim Horton's, a convenience store with a small grocery section (1 minute walk away), and a gas station. There is also a golf club and a cross country ski and snowshoe club.
  • We had a wonderful time and everything was exactly as stated.

    Anne2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great place to stay at - very unique. Wish we got to spend more time in the outdoors in that area.

  • Great place.

    Nancy2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was so cute and very, very clean! A few bugs here and there are inevitable in this type of environment, but there are far less than you would expect, and you can easily tell hosts spend time making sure everything is as pristine and pest free as possible:) I love the location of the Munroe Bunkie because it’s very close to the shower and bathroom-and the little goats:) Sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous on the property, and I really enjoyed my morning walk to get coffee from Tim Hortons. Check in and check out were super easy and convenient with the lock box. And the bed was SO comfy! It’s really a great place to stay all around!

    Amber2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had at great time staying at the Bunkie! I appreciated the thoughtful touches in the space and the tips about places to explore. Really great and cool place!

  • This bunkie is beyond incredible. It was everything we hoped for and more.

    Jenny-Lynn2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this Bunkie. Everything was like it was written in the description and absolutely clean. We would stay there again.

    Felix2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kat and Scott have a wonderful place for a quaint getaway. The cabins are done up well and the outdoor shower really is fantastic! The water heats up instantly and the space holds heat while you towel off. They have added nice little touches for guests such as the garden path with sayings posted throughout that lead to a hammock area. I would definitely recommend their place and would book again without hesitation.

  • If you are looking for a rustic retreat with lots of thoughtful touches this place is for you! I stayed in the Wagamese Bunkie. It was cozy and clean with a bed, desk and a chair. Lots of great touches like a charging station to keep you powered up and a lantern so that you can stay up when the sun goes down. There is a very clean outhouse and outdoor shower. Bring you own food and use the bbq and picnic table. Plus, there is access to a shared kitchen space and campfire pit. Great spot for a weekend getaway!

    Rayven-Storm2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little space went above and beyond my expectations. Cute clean mini cabin, hosts were welcoming prompt to respond to all messages. Highlight was meeting the owners 3 mini-goats. Next time I am in the area I will book again.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kat's! Great value for a lovely bunkie. A friend and I were biking through Bruce County and it was the perfect spot to unwind. Picnic table, BBQ, fire pit, small kitchenette and power box for charging were just some of the great features. Would come back in a heartbeat!

    Angela2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a great time glamping. The bed was very comfortable. It rained a lot of the time we were there so being inside the cabin was great. The cottages are very spacious and we loved sitting on the porch. The outdoor shower was a great experience and we enjoyed seeing the goats. The best part was being a few minute drive from Sauble Beach. Will absolutely visit again

    Andrea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very comfortable and clean with enough privacy from the other cabins. I was skeptical about the outdoor shower but the water heated up in seconds, which was welcoming during the colder temp outside. Best part was the greeting and farewell from the neighbour goats! Highly recommend.

    Staci2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bunkies in a nice garden! We really loved to see the stars by night because there was not so much artificial light! You can have a fire in the garden and each bunkie has its own bbq and table. It's a really nice place, we hope to come back one day!

    * DUE TO COVID-19 I HAVE TIGHTENED UP MY RESERVATION POLICY. PLEASE MESSAGE FOR AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU. * Spend some time away from home in this cozy but spacious enchanting 90 year old gem. This upper level flat will leave you feeling relaxed, giving you the freedom to come and go as you please with your own private entrance and parking spot.
The local decorating flair of our area within the space will warm your heart and make you feel welcome. In the summer months there is a salt water wading pool which you may use at your own risk. Pool opens May 24 each year and closes September 24, dates are approximate.
I love everything about this neighbourhood. Very small town feel. Like out of a movie.

  • Jacinda was a very thoughtful host! Very clean, very private and close to everything we needed. 10/10 would stay again😊

    Nadia2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at Jacinda's place. We loved it so much the first time, we had to come back! The location is amazing, it's a short walk or even shorter drive from downtown Owen Sound which make it very convenient. The place itself is clean and has all the amenities you need to have a relaxing weekend. The heated pool is an amazing feature of this place and won't disappoint. Would highly recommend Jacinda's place.

    Keros2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jacinda and her family are natural hosts. They make your trip pleasant by being thoughtful and courteous. Very welcoming and a great space. This was my 3rd stay with them--so that kind of says it all. The location is great near downtown OS and the park. Quiet street. Only potential negative is steep stairs up to 2nd floor AirBnb space. This is disclosed in description, so it shouldn't be a surprise. But this space is not for someone who doesn't navigate stairs well.

    Mark2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, very clean, comfortable and everything that you need. Highly recommended.

    Deb2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jacinda's place is truly accurate to how it is described, close to all amenities, amazing touches, effortless check in and stay, the guidebook was helpful, the place itself is enchanted, clean and very thoughtfully curated. We felt cozy and comfortable during our stay. Hubby and I had a great weekend away and will definitely come back if we were ever in Owen Sounds.
