Our stylish cottage offers seclusion and tranquility among the trees. A salt-water vanishing edge pool and spa are shared by all guests on the property. We are in the midst of wineries and close to the American River for swimming, whitewater rafting and hiking. Up to two dogs are welcome with a $25 flat fee per stay. If not available for the dates you want, we have two other options: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17944878 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/26519059/details
Our secluded 250 square foot cottage is perched on the edge of a forested ravine. French doors open on to a beautiful redwood deck where you can lounge the day away under the trees. The cottage was recently remodeled with simple modern finishes. Inside the cottage there is a comfortable queen-sized bed, a small table and two chairs, and a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster oven, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and one-burner countertop induction cooktop. A small propane grill (propane included) is located outside on the patio. Cookware and dishes are provided. The attached, private bathroom has a toilet, shower, vanity, and heated floors. You are welcome to use the semi-outdoor showers located a short walk away that are also used by the other guests on the property. A salt-water vanishing edge un- heated pool and hot tub are available for guest use. Guests are welcome in the pool area from 8am to sunset; the hot tub is heated only during the two hours before sunset. The Pool and sunset views are a short walk from the cottage (the pool is below the main house and not next to the cottage). Please note: the cottage does not have a television.
We are located in wine country and we can offer suggestions on our favorite wineries to visit. There are hiking trails within walking distance or a short drive. Chili Bar Park on the South Fork of the American River is a 15 minute drive and has a great beach and swimming area. There are multiple lakes within a short drive for paddle boarding, swimming, and canoeing or kayaking. Commercial river rafting trips take off from Lotus/Coloma which is about 20 minutes away. There are also lots of mountain bike trails and we can help connect you to a mountain bike tour company that will show you the hidden back roads and trails. The area is home to the famous Rubicon Trail for back road jeeps and other off-road vehicles. We are also located in the heart of Gold Country with lots of historical interest surrounding the Gold Rush - we are about 20 minutes from where gold was discovered in California.
  • Absolutely gorgeous location. I can't rave enough about the pool/spa overlooking the forest and foothills. I was here for a quick business trip, or I'd have loved to take some of the hikes recommended. The coffee and tea was a nice touch -- great little kitchen would be great for a longer trip, too. And the bed was so comfy! Would recommend to just about anyone.

  • Great location and beautiful space with a large yard for my dogs. Thank you for the excellent communication throughout our stay.

    Marc2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute space! Very spacious for having all the fun amenities they featured! For being in a gorgeous setting it was very easy to find paired with a lot of helpful notes and details to keep things simple when you are traveling in a place you’ve never been before. The bed was super comfortable and sheets so soft! Loved all the little sweet touches and deck with the chaise in the morning was absolutely fabulous!

  • This was a fantastic place to stay. Easy enough to get to, secluded enough to be relaxing, and plenty to do. The cottage was lovely and clean. The views from the pool/hot tub were completely stunning. It is too bad the hot tub is only on from 4-6! I could have stayed in there all day. This is a high tick area, so if you are traveling with a dog, be sure to check them thoroughly. We had to remove multiple ticks from our pup over the weekend. Also note that the property has a strict on-leash policy for dogs.

    Rachel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful and quiet, very clean, amazing views!

    Michael2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and quite cottage. The place was clean and well equipped. Very spacious bathroom with floor heaters. Hot tub and Infiniti pool was a big highlight. Breath taking views and sunset. Tamra responded quickly to messages and was clear and direct with communication. I have already recommended this place to friends.

  • Suzie's place is the perfect place to get away! The place is very cute and comfortable. You can tell she thought of everything in the way she decorated and created this place. It is clean and tidy, and the property is so pretty. A great place to just relax. Close to many things such as Wineries, breweries and close to town to check out all the things. We enjoyed our weekend here and would definitely return in the future.

    Sharron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, nicely nestled for seclusion, views included. All amenities provided, plenty of sweet touches. Suzie respected the privacy we requested and responed quickly when we had a question or concern.

    Paul2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie’s place is just as described! We had a wonderfully cozy stay and would definitely stay again!

    Dani2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie's place is super cozy, tucked into the hills around Placerville. The property is quiet and the studio is clean and comfortable. Suzie is really communicative and made sure we always had everything we needed throughout our stay. I'd highly recommend a stay here if you're looking for something peaceful and remote. Its central location between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe worked out well for us!

  • This space is such a gem. You will not be disappointed. We loved our short stay here. It’s definitely a break from reality and the perfect place to relax.

  • Nita, her husband, and their three puppers were excellent hosts! It's an adorable space in a gorgeous area with plenty of trails nearby. Nita was super communicative and they were very easy going. It was a nice getaway from the city -- highly recommended.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nita’s place is absolutely amazing an beautiful! The dogs are the friendliest, we brought our mini schnauzer an he absolutely loved playing with their dogs! An the hot tub at night is amazing to watch the stars. Then the outside bathroom is really cool! Something you have to experience!!

    Dylan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Love this place! Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice relaxing AFFORDABLE get away (:

    Marie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • i can recommend Nita's place without reservation - glamping at its finest - planning our next trip there already. :D

    Narsimham2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nita's is a great space to relax in. We hot tubbed in the morning and, since it was winter, took cold plunges into the pool. The outdoor shower was the best! If I went back, I would definitely spend more than one night or have it be a stopping point if you are driving further in that direction because of the winding roads in and out. Overall, a great adventure :)

The house sits at the top of a hill on 5 acres. The last 200 yards of the road can be challenging to anyone with out all wheel drive or 4x4 when it has been raining for some time. If this is an issue you can park at the bottom of the property behind my gate and I will pick you up. I have animals so if you are allergic to cats or dogs pls let me know in advance (I do not allow them in the guest room). This area is perfect for outdoor adventurist types, loads of trails and kayaking/rafting!
Shared common space such as living room, kitchen, and office. I do work from home so I have some flexibility.
There is the Garden Valley Park 1/2 mile down the road and from Memorial Day to Labor Day Saturday's there is a farmers market with live local music.
  • Bea was a fantastic host - very gracious and fun to chat with. I loved her space and her home is in a great spot. I felt like family within minutes of arriving and would stay with her again in a heart beat!

Enjoy all the foothills have to offer within minutes of this charming 320 sq.ft. 'Master Studio' located on an acre hilltop property with Auburn views. A full kitchenette, comfy queen bed, cotton linens, and a unique bathroom highlight the space. Whether fraternizing with the pygmy goats, soaking in the salt-water pool (May-Oct.), or enjoying in-or-out-door activities, this clean, tranquil, setting is the space for you. *UPDATE: Due to Recent Events, The Studio is Sanitized Between Each Guest!
This is a 320 square foot, attached, walk-in basement, Master Studio apartment that has been freshly renovated and sits on a private acre at the top of a hill. Besides great Auburn views, enjoy cotton linens, organic extras such as tea, coffee and snacks, as well as a full kitchen with all necessities. The bathroom (nicknamed, "The Cave") has a macerating, grinding pump located behind the toilet (affectionately nicknamed 'The Beast'). Note that when full, or when flushed, the pump will run for ~10 seconds (the pump is louder than a standard toilet, so don't be startled). 😉 There is a separate, well lit parking space off the circular driveway on the far side of the house, with a paved walkway to your private entrance (look for the Goat Crossing sign). Note that the 240v EV charge cord is located on the opposite side of the house, in front of the garage (if needed, just let me know). *Studio is always carefully cleaned, but now more care is given to disinfect the doorknobs, cabinets and all surfaces to ensure a safe space for all to visit.
This quiet, safe neighborhood (cul-de-sac street) has beautiful views of Auburn and the Tahoe mountains. You are close to interstate 80 and highway 49. You can walk to a popular brewery, restaurants and much more. Beautiful Auburn trails (hiking, biking), the American river and lake Clementine (fishing, paddling) are only minutes away. The house is located at the top of a hill, in a quite neighborhood, so please drive slowly and be considerate of neighbors. :-)
  • Lovely studio, very clean and lots of special nice touches. Loved the cute pigmy goats.

    Peter2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. It's easy to run into town, super clean and nice inside, there's a beautiful spot outside, and goats!

    Lucas2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • James was incredibly accommodating and easy to talk to. Really appreciated the helpful little nuances of the place.

    Gary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • James provided such a warm greeting and orientation to the studio. I loved having the goats so close and being able to visit and let them. They were so friendly. He was nice to keep the heat on because the space can be cold, but there are also space heaters which help. The bathroom pump is loud as he describes but it doesn’t last long and isn’t a big deal. I didn’t flush in the late evening just to avoid the sound at unnecessary times and also to save water. It was so nice to have snacks in the room and little touches like spices, bottled water, etc. He really cares about the hospitality and goes above and beyond. The shower runs out of hot water pretty quickly. I forgot to inform him in case he didn’t know. All in all, it was very nice and I’d like to stay there again when visiting family in the area.

    Nadine2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing!! What a gem. I definitely recommend this to anyone traveling through Auburn!

    Rachel2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • James was a great host! Quick responses to messages and very accommodating to any needs we had during our stay.

    Kirsten2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing experience / time here with my spouse . The location was chosen by my spouse cause she saw how amazing the view was in pictures , but you can’t beat the actual view that’s in person . James was a great host , the place was really nice , cozy and definitely a place I would use more often with my spouse when we are in this town . My spouse really liked the goats , they didn’t bother us at all and the neighborhood was beautiful and quiet . Thank you James , this place is definitely recommended .

    Penisimani2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough good things about our stay at James's. First, the hospitality and friendliness of our host was 5 stars. The location was perfect for our needs, and the space itself was so clean and inviting! James and his family has thought of everything to provide a wonderful environment (hotel-like amenities but the comforts of home), and we really enjoyed meeting the adorable goats, Brownie and Morgana! The quirk with the water pump that is clearly stated on the listing did not bother us at all! Will definitely be back :)

Our guesthouse is across the driveway from the main house on 1.5 acres on a quiet country road, yet only 2 miles from Old Town Auburn, 3 miles from the Auburn State Recreation Area, and 1.5 hours from Lake Tahoe. The guesthouse is approximately 375 sq ft, has its own entrance with convenient parking, a well-appointed kitchenette, a bedroom with a full size bed adjoining a private deck, and a huge bathroom with a closet. It’s perfect for a couple or single, and suitable for longer term stays.
A Timely Note to Potential Guests: We are currently complying with Placer County's guidelines regarding short term rentals. Specifically, our unit is in compliance as long as we meet the following criteria: --To provide COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures (for example, isolation and quarantine or the housing of displaced persons or the homeless); --To provide housing for essential critical infrastructure workers; and --For use by the property owner and his/her immediate family members. Thus, our schedule reflects openings for these purposes, and we will remain open as long as we are well and able to provide an exceptionally clean and safe place for you to stay. Our unit is private and separate from our house, and I am solely responsible for cleaning and maintaining it. I am committed to your safety and comfort no less than I would be for myself and my own family. Please don’t hesitate to contact me regarding your questions or concerns. All for one and one for all. --Gina The Roost is a cozy private space with a cabiny feel. The entryway serves as both foyer and kitchenette, where you’ll find small versions of everything you need to cook and eat in: microwave, fridge with freezer, toaster/oven, hot plate, coffee maker. The well-stocked pantry has food staples, dishes and cooking essentials. We provide a selection of teas and freshly ground coffee; and whenever possible, fresh fruit and homemade granola with almond milk. On one side of the entry is the bedroom; on the other is the bathroom and closet. The bedroom has a pine ceiling and floor, and opens out to a private deck complete with party lights and seating to watch the sunset. The full size bed has a handmade cherry frame and a ComfortTech Serene Foam mattress. There’s WIFI, a DVD player, and the television is Roku enabled featuring three paid streaming services: Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. There’s also a desk-size table and chairs for eating and/or working. The bathroom is large, with two sinks, a vanity, a walk-in tiled shower, and separate toilet area. We provide nice soft towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryer, etc. At the far end of the bathroom there’s a closet with a chest of drawers and extra blankets/pillows, a small iron and ironing board, a fan, and extra heater. You’ll find a couple games as well, for the occasional rainy day. We love that both the bedroom and the bathroom get lots of natural light—there is a skylight in each. And throughout the space, you’ll find original art pieces and photography by people we know and love. The property is always “coming along” but there’s something special about it even when it’s rough. We just like being here and we hope our guests do too. Our host philosophy is to treat everyone that comes to the Roost like a friend. We strive to provide a super-clean comfortable private space with lots of extras. We do not charge extra for cleaning and offer a discount if you stay more than one night. We take great pride in making you feel at home. The endeavor is dedicated to my mom, who would have said with the warmest smile and a brogue, “céad míle fáilte.”
Auburn is a really fun place to be. We have wineries, breweries, museums, art, shops, and it’s an outdoors-person’s paradise. The Auburn State Recreation Area has it all: trails for hiking, running, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV; the American River for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, floating, rafting, fishing, and gold panning. There’s even some serious rock climbing to do here. We are super-close to Old Town Auburn and Downtown Auburn, as well as Newcastle. Ask us for restaurant recommendations but we always love Newcastle Pizzeria in Newcastle, and recommend Monkey Cat in downtown Auburn for fine dining. There's free parking at various locations that will get you into the Auburn State Recreation Area for running or hiking: Murphy's Gate, along the road near China Gate, and at American River Overlook Park. Parking is $10 at or near the confluence but that gets you really close to the river if you just want to hang out and cool off. We have maps in the guesthouse--ask us about any features of the park you're interested in visiting. If you're into cooler or cold (depending on the time of year), head up I80 toward Truckee. We are only 1 hour from skiing at Boreal, and 1.5 hours to numerous runs in the North Lake Tahoe area. Or take a hike along part of the Pacific Crest Trail with spectacular views of Donner Lake--that's less than an hour drive.
  • The atmosphere was so much fun, the host was amazing, and everything was so clean!

  • This is one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more. All of the amenities were so convenient. The host doesn’t overlook a single detail. There’s even homemade granola for guests to enjoy! I especially liked relaxing on the deck overlooking the pond and Auburn hills.

This 170 sq ft hideaway is nestled among old oak trees behind our main residence. Light, bright and cheerfully appointed, the cottage offers a comfy, clean, newly renovated bedroom & adjoining bathroom.
Cozy studio with adjacent bathroom connected by the original barn door. Lovingly referred to as the "Playhouse", it was built by Jon's grandfather as a Christmas gift for his children in Christmas 1959. Fully renovated in 2017, the Queen bed has quality linens. Bathroom has showers both inside and outside (outdoor shower is semi-private, so popular in the Summer months.) While there is no kitchen, the cottage provides everything serious coffee drinkers need in the morning: a mini-fridge, electric Hario kettle, Chemex pour-over coffee pot, Peets coffee/Tazo teas, cream & sugar.
Built in the 1950's, the property was constructed before I-80 & Hwy 49 became such busy thoroughfares and feels incredibly private for such a central location.
  • Perfect for a solo travel, couple, or small family. My wife and I stayed for a weekend with our 7-month old and the space was perfect for us! Clean and quiet, with very thoughtful touches. Would recommend and would stay here again!

  • This is a gem of a little cottage. Cozy, clean, quiet, and close to downtown and Auburn’s famous running trails. I highly recommend staying here when you come through!

  • Claire’s place is perfect for a getaway to Auburn. The cottage was great for me and my wife on our overnight stay. It’s clean, cute, private and centrally located. I would definitely make a return visit!

    Gary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, cozy spot with nice touches. The best part was the pour over coffee set up.

    Angel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to downtown and everything Auburn has to offer. Darling decor and kid friendly. I loved all of the little details (books, coloring supplies, lollipops, bed side lights, heater, natural toiletries, mirrors, magazines, coffee and cream in a cute little fridge box, etc). Bright and cheery. I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Sutter2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cottage for a great price! Lots of nice toiletries in case you left some at home. Bed was very comfy. Very clean and spacious bathroom. A great value!

Auburn is a small town near the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with rich gold rush history. My home is centrally located between two major highways in North Auburn. It's less than 5 minutes to Highway 49 and 10 minutes to Highway 80. We have a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, wine tasting and local farmers markets all located close by; as well as, our historic Downtown and Old town, which are about a 10 minutes drive away!
You will find that our queen size memory foam mattress will give you the perfect night of restful sleep. With warm colors on the walls, this room is sure to set a relaxing tone for your stay. Your morning cup of joe can be enjoyed in the serene setting of our front porch or a glass of wine in the evening (not provided) Our bathroom is shared and necessities are provided ( body wash, and towels)
Auburn was named "The Endurance Capital of the World" because of the beautiful trails, lakes and rivers that surround it, and a Community that supports an active outdoor lifestyle. My rental is about 5-10 minutes to several of these destinations, as well as about an hours drive to the majestic Lake Tahoe, a 25 minutes drive to the eccentric towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City. Can you tell I love where I live?? I truly enjoy hosting traveler's and sharing my Sierra Nevada home with others and hope you enjoy your stay!
  • Sean was a gracious, accommodating and friendly host. She has some very friendly pets as well.

    Kristin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great value

    Robert2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I got the room facing north- it's superb for the quality of the memory foam - bed- superb! The cat may scratch at your door if you happened to feed it beforehand. Apparently salmon is his favorite. There is also a doggy who despite his small size doesn't go crazy yapping, but rather may smother you with love. .. Definitely Feels like home.. unlike the sterile cold of hotels. Than there's the hostess, who is not only charming but also knows a lot in a field of health nutrition. Xoxo I miss them already..

    Robert2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was coming into Auburn late afternoon for a trail race early the next morning. Saen was really easy to communicate with about my arrival time, and super helpful with directions. Saen is an awesome gal too. If I wasn't so exhausted from the road, I would have continued to talk her ear off! Space was exactly what I needed. Clean, comfortable, and a great value. I'd absolutely stay again the next time I come to race. Thanks Saen!

    Casey2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Saen is one of the best hosts I’ve had. Good quiet private place to stay. Good affordable rate. Clean place. Highly recommend for work travelers

  • We really enjoyed our stay here and the location was perfect for our needs. We came to the area for hiking around the American River and Folsom Lake. The space is extremely comfortable for 2 adults and 2 dogs. I was most impressed with how spacious the place is but still adequately furnished with everything one would need for a short stay. The bathroom is roomy and clean with lots of fresh towels provided. We appreciated the coffee machine every morning and full sized fridge to keep our food. Marilyn generously provides a basket of cookies/snacks that went perfect with tea time. Having the fridge, microwave and dining area in a separate room is so much better than staying in a cramped up hotel room. It was a 5 star stay in gold country!

    Zee2019-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn's mini-ranch is JUST what we needed. I quick getaway from the Bay Area hustle. On top of that, it was a cozy place to stay with our 4 year old son and senior dog. We had a lot of fun around the area with great sites to see and great restaurants as well. Best of all, we all had a ton of fun getting to know Mica the Mare and of course Marilyn.

  • Wonderful place to stay. you get your money's worth with this spot. its secluded and quiet while not being too far from the town of Cool. I highly suggest you book this space before someone else does!

Large kitchen area is fully stocked, for your cooking pleasure! There is one bright bedroom, and a large pull out bed which sleeps two. Looking for a quiet retreat? This is a woodsy home, very spacious in the living room and dining room. Out the living room window is a wide panoramic view of the Sierra sunrise in the morning. It is a country style ranch home. Clipper house is clean and uncluttered, with simple accents. The whole house is furnished to relax in and enjoy a home away from home. You ll feel like your in the middle of the woods in your own private mountain lodge. Simple, cozy and rustic
This is a rural neighborhood, with friendly neighbors, but private. It is very quiet, with only the quaint sound of a random train now and then. There can be deer and Wildlife seen in the yard, which is unfenced. This is a lovely place for a retreat, romantic getaway or simoly a place to stay during your work travels.
  • The view is incredible. The house is large and spacious. Its perfect for a quiet stay. Shannon replied promptly. Its about 8 mins from Auburn center, so close to restaurants and the organic grocer. Nice hikes a few minutes away. We sleep well, the queen bed had a warm down comforter and cotton sheets. The pullout couch was firm and comfortable with cotton sheets, we left it in bed mode all 5 days, because the house is big enough and the seating enough. The fire place doesn't work and that was sad, but overall a lovely serene stay.

  • Great location. The place was exactly what we expected from the description on the site and it worked well for our family with 2 kids. We hope to go back again sometime.

  • Excellent place. So cozy and great touches everywhere. I personally really loved the location and found it convinient as well. And if you have a hard time finding it (I did because GPS wasn't quite right and I was driving at night)..Shannon will help you. I called her and she kindly guided me on the phone. I had a lovely retreat escape. The window itself is better than any tv I've ever had. I didn't miss the TV or wifi at all. Five full stars and I hope to come back again someday.

Lovely Clipper Cottage is located on 5 acres with views of the Sierras. Out in the country, while only a ten-minute drive to the historic town of Auburn. Marble counter tops, in a small but fully stocked kitchen. The main bedroom has ample sunlight and a cozy queen bed, a very quiet place to come back to for rejuvenation. This is a sweet, very clean, and cozy place to stay for a private retreat after fun adventures on the area! A little small, but cozy.
Clipper cottage is cute, clean and cozy! Its small, but has everything you need. Marble countertops, new flooring, and a great bed!. Rollins and Lake Clementine 20 min drive. 10 minute drive to Colfax or Auburn. surrounded by Nature, the cottage is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful sitting room with lots light and a desk for work. Quiet, yet 5 min to I 80. Please note, the bathroom and common area are quite small. Bedrooms are normal size. We do have other tenants on the property, who you may pass coming and going. Everyone is friendly and private.
10-15 minute drive to Auburn to the west and Colfax to the east. Near Rollins Lake, American River and countless bike trails. Quaint town of Meadow Vista 10 minute drive. In the heart of the foothills!!
  • This guesthouse an excellent place to stay just outside of Auburn, while being somewhat secluded in the woods. There are two other homes on the property one being attached to this guesthouse, and the other directly across from it. It was very quiet our entire stay during the day and night. Aside from the very occasional passing train, which I found to be unique and cool benefit of a stay at either of the Clipper Gap properties. The kitchen and bathroom were amply stocked with the expected amenities like dish soap, and shampoo. In addition the hosts were communicative and helpful throughout the whole process, would definitely stay here again!

  • I stayed for two weeks after selling my house and it worked out great for a quiet relaxing spot but still less than 20 minutes from my job in Rocklin. I liked the convenience of the full kitchen and self check in and would recommend especially for the overall value at the time I stayed.

    Christopher2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, only a few minutes to the freeway, 5 min to auburn. Place was clean, comfortable for our few night stay. It is a little small as stated, not much for common space, mainly 2 bedrooms to hang out and enjoy each others company. But it was perfect for our family. We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend to anyone not needing much living space, and no TV. Perfect place to unwind and get away from the hustle n bustle of the city. Yet only a few minutes to town.

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z

  • First night I arrived, I saw several deer outside the cottage! And there were more deer in the morning :-D Immaculately clean, exactly as pictured. Small, though in a cozy way. It has every convenience. Exactly what I was looking for in a “nature” getaway from my presently hectic life. I would definitely come back. Thank you for a great stay!

The Hideaway Auburn is a unique oasis on the edge of the American River Valley. Set on 13 acres in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, it will feel like you are deep in the woods, while having access to creature comforts within walking distance. This home was built in the 1930's & holds onto that charm, while offering the luxuries of modern day. Whether you are planning an adventure in the surrounding natural mountains and rivers or looking for rest & relaxation, let this be your home base.
The Hideaway offers views of the tractless wilderness that stretch from the foothills to the wilds of the Sierra Nevadas. Our peaceful mountaintop home is surrounded by lush landscapes nestled between native oaks, cedars and redwoods. A limited kitchenette inside the hideaway is furnished with a microwave, toaster oven (that can bake, roast, and dehydrate), mini-fridge, icemaker and coffeemaker. As the house is built in the 1930’s noise from the upstairs does travel and we’ve kept some fixtures original to keep its charm. Relax and recharge at the infinity pool with views of the American River Valley, the sunrise from the pool deck is worth the early wake up!
We are just above the confluence of the North and Middle Forks of the American River and at the doorstep of the Auburn State Recreation Area. Auburn is known as the "Endurance Capitol of the World" with events supporting this title year round. To the East are Tahoe and El Dorado National Forests and to the West are the cities of Sacramento and the Bay beyond. A large Raley's grocery store with a Peet's coffee shop and multiple restaurants are within walking distance. The Fairgrounds, Downtown and Old Town Auburn are less than a ten minute drive down the hill. Grass Valley and Nevada City are just down the historic Highway 49. The Hideaway is on the Eastern edge of the Placer Wine Trail, in the middle of the Mandarin Trail in Placer County, rafting country, and about an hour away from where the gold rush began. From our property you can be hiking, mountain biking, road biking, river rafting, kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, bird watching, fishing, 4-wheeling, and exploring within the hour. The adventure is endless.
  • This house is beautiful and the views are spectacular

    Gayle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in both the big house and smaller studio was amazing! This property is stunning. All of the bedrooms have a bathroom off of them, making it easy to share with multiple people. The kitchen was very well stocked and the refrigerator was huge. We did rent out the lower studio, and I would suggest to rent them out together. The footstep noise when you’re down below is extremely loud. If we had been only renting that portion I would’ve been disappointed. I do think Chris & Jen should consider making the listings one rather than two. Otherwise, check in was really easy. The place is gorgeous and my family is now talking about going back for family events!

    Mandy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Simply, we had a wonderful stay. The space has a great feel, is clean and is full of nice touches and ambience. The view is stunning and general location feels private, is quiet, but affords easily access to town.

  • Tucked away from life this home offers amenities and views that will blow you away! The hosts are more than responsive and accommodating . The area offers plenty to do all within a short drive. Stop into Ikedas and grab a pie!

    Brad2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We rented The Hideway in addition to The Homestead to have enough space for our group, and the setup worked perfectly. There is a door connecting the two inside the house, so when you have both it is like an extension to the Homestead, but when booking just The Hideaway you are separate. This would be perfect for a couple or 2, there is a kitchenette that would be sufficient for small meals, and the pull out bed seemed quite comfortable.

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and what a wonderful experience. The “apartment” was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need. The location is great a super easy to find (especially with a little pointer from Breckken). Check in was so easy. She even provided us with a list of local venues. Very quiet. A peaceful get away. Thank you so much. We will definitely return. The husband and I had one question..... what is the large “thing” with the word Panche written on the side. We were making bets.

    Mary2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish, cozy, and private: Just what I was looking for! Tea and coffee in the kitchen. Comfy couch for chilling and watching a movie or two. The perfect location right near great restaurants and shops in Auburn. Thanks you guys! :)

  • Breckken’s place is fantastic! Clean and spacious, and I was so comfortable there. Highly recommended.

    Cristina2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable with great parking space right in front of the stairs to the entrance to the guest suite. It was very private and I never heard the hosts besides when arriving or leaving in their car/s. I stayed for 7 days and saw them twice. They were happy to be as helpful as you might like and I'd be happy to stay there again.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Larry’s place for the ‘Way Too Cool 50k’ race March 7th. The location was perfect - 10min away from the start/finish as well as close proximity to a grocery store. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. I was happy that I could bring my dog as well - he loved walking around the property.

    Blair2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Larry’s house was sparkling clean and in an absolutely gorgeous area. The gated neighborhood was extremely safe and very scenic. The room was huge and Larry went out of his way to make sure we had our privacy. Everything was super excellent. Absolutely loved the place and the area. Hopefully we can return soon.

    Nico2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The beautiful house is on top of the world in cool, CA. They have amazing furniture and ambiance. The fire was going when we got there, and every morning we woke up. You can expect to be sleeping directly next to the host with your own personal bedroom and bathroom. He was so hospitable and put out of coffee and drinks as well as continental breakfast. Nicest guy! Great conversation. I had never stayed in an air bnb inside someone’s house, so this was new for ya, but we will definitely be back!

    Skye2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here. Larry is incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to make us feel at home. He even drove us to the wedding we were attending (no other lyfts or Uber’s would go way up there)! He gave us great suggestions for local places to eat at. Appreciated the muffins and coffee in the morning. And his dog, Zeke, was just the best boy. We enjoyed cuddling him and having him around!

    Corinne2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Larry's place is first and foremost very clean, and I think Larry is hands down the best Airbnb host I've ever had. He was extraordinarily helpful in filling me in on what was going on locally. I had dinner with friends in Placerville one night, and Larry was such a warm host that he texted me to invite me to join him at a local night spot on my way back. I can't recommend a host more highly.

    Jeff2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We choose to stay at Cool because it’s off the beaten track and the name is cool. This place has something so very special and captivating about it. It has zero tourists in the small town along with zero pollution. We went to California for our honeymoon, and we danced under the stars watched the most perfect sunset and star gazed at Larry’s home, this was truly a very magical evening at Cool, which will stay in our hearts for an eternity. Larry home is perfectly clean, Larry is very respectful giving his guest privacy. He makes it feel just like it’s your own home . Harrys is very kind, knowledgeable about the area and extremely hospitable. He has a fantastic vinyl collection, which he played beautiful music just for us. He was so kind, that when he found out it was out honeymoon, he gave us a bottle of local Californian champagne to celebrate.. If you are a Britt coming to California and want a piece of paradise in real California, come to Cool to have a cool time, you wont regret it.

    Dee2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking to explore the Sierra foothills, Larry’s place is an excellent place to do so. It’s clean and close to many activities bars and restaurants. Larry and Zeke are excellent hosts!

    Gavin2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Larry was really nice and welcoming. He accommodated for our last min booking and his place was really clean, modern, and quiet! The drive to the house is a bit out of the way on some smaller roads but it made for an adventure as we saw a lot of cool wildlife!

Hillside Creek Cottage is nestled in the heart of Eldorado County. Our place has that cabin feel with a beautiful large fireplace in the living room and master suite loft upstairs. It also has all the amenities, its only 100 Yards from the lake!!!
1900 Sqft 4 Bedroom 2.5 Bath Home With Private Lake
This is the perfect place to bring family and friends or just a getaway by yourself. The cabin sleeps 10, so don't worry about the room. We sit at an elevation of 3500 feet so its the perfect place year round to enjoy winter, spring summer or fall!!
  • Location, location, location! This is our second stay at this quiet little cabin. The setting is gorgeous and nestled in the trees near a beautiful lake with dirt road/trails for wandering around. The dock is a lovely place to drink a morning coffee and take in the scenery as is the balcony on the cabin. Great value and the place has everything we wanted. We get together here with old friends. There are two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, two more bedrooms and another bathroom off the hallway. The living room is cozy and we loved that we could bring our pup to hang out for the weekend as well. We will likely be back again.

  • This cabin is just incredible! Get ready took disconnect as there is no cell service or wifi, and really just enjoy the beauty of the forest and the nearby lake. Super cozy and very spacious house!

  • Very clean, quiet, and quaint home. It was the perfect quick getaway for our little family.

    Gianna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted to go to the mountains on short notice to let the kids play in the snow. Chris's place was perfect for us. It is as described - a cabin in an isolated mountain community. I wouldn't call it rustic exactly, but it is not one of these modern mountain chalets that you might encounter around Tahoe. It is a cabin with lots of sleeping space and in a great location for adventure and exploring, or just to simply get away from it all. There is no internet service and no cell phone service, but there is DirecTV with movie channels and whatnot. There is a nice collection of VHS tapes as well. Everything was in good working order for us and we had no problems at all with anything. The fireplace was great. Although there was some wood and Duraflame logs when we arrived, we also brought wood with us just in case, and I advise to do the same. It's not too far into Georgetown, but you definitely want to get what you need on your way in. There are some decent places to eat in Georgetown as well as a couple of small markets. Chris and her mom were both very prompt with communication before and after arrival, although we didn't have a need to contact them once we were there. We plan on going back again.

    Nancy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very prompt responses! And the house was well kept with enough towels and blankets for 8 people. Well equipped kitchen.. was able to cook both nights. Also a grill outside on the deck to bbq! Heads up tho: there’s no WiFi and no cellular network connection in and near the house... it felt great to disconnect

    Devi2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time! Nice walk to a pretty pond. Was quiet and pretty scenery.

This is a small, beautiful rural home of rustic design in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. It sits on a hilltop surrounded by over 10 acres of pasture, fruit trees, and forest, with views of the Coast Range. There is a large covered porch and spa. We recommend our place to guests who seek peace and quiet and a taste of country life, but who are not interested in remote cabins deep in the forest.
The hilltop view, country seating, distance from neighbors, and proximity to a variety of activities are what people find most enjoyable about this home. Within 20 minutes, you can visit various up-and coming wineries, Auburn and Placerville, with there many shops and restaurants, Coloma, the site of the discovery of gold in California, and the American River with its popular fishing and white-water rafting/tubing. The home has a new heating and cooling system.
The area consists of farms, horse ranches and country homes on at least 10 acres (about 5 hectares) each, so there is lots of privacy. We recommend trips to local wineries that are scattered throughout the Sierra Nevada foothills. These newer wineries are reminiscent of the Napa Valley wineries over 30 years ago. The middle and south forks of the American river are popular for swimming, kayaking, and white-water rafting (there are many rental companies and whitewater rafting tour companies in Coloma). Horseback riding and hiking are very popular, with many miles of excellent trails. Lake Tahoe is about an hour away and accessible via two freeways (Hwy's 50 and 80).
  • Cute small cabin, perfect for 2 and our small pup. He loved the fenced area to play in. Home was clean and close to awesome running trails. Would book again!

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quiet, relaxing retreat in the beautiful foothills this is. The house is one of the most charming air bnbs I’ve ever been to. It was clean, beautiful, and perfect for two. The photos don’t do it justice, will definitely return

    Deanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. Far enough away to be "Woodsy" without being deep in the woods! My wife and I came to do some mountain biking in the Auburn State Recreation Area, and found this location to be ideal to access the several trail areas. We'd definitely come back. If you're reading this review, and asking if you need to bring anything the answer is no. The house is well stocked with kitchen accessories, glasses, plates, bowls etc ... If this house doesn't have it you don't need it!

    Mickey2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Trip #8 here, that say's it all!!

    Tom2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful views, and an amazing hot tub. Hiking nearby was fun and the snow trip eat lots of fun!

    Aj2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We came here for a peaceful, cozy holiday getaway, and it was PERFECT. The sparkly lights wrapped around the deck were beautiful to see while resting in the hot tub, and they even left a bowl of Christmas cookies on the kitchen counter (which were quickly devoured!). Our pups especially enjoyed the dog run area along the driveway, which has a bench for the tired humans. We took a trip up to Apple Hill, and did some shopping in Georgetown, which was quite fun. I highly recommend staying at Jefferey's, for any occasion.

    Kelsey2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jefferey's place is truly amazing and exceeded my expectations.

    Laura2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great, comfortable stay. This cabin is well-appointed, super clean, great mountain views, great hot tub and wood burning stove. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave when our stay was over!

Welcome to our studio apt in the meadow. Enjoy a private get away, but close to everything! 45 minutes to Boreal Ski Area, 90 minutes to Tahoe, 2.5 hrs to San Francisco. PAcific Crest Trail, American and Bear rivers minutes away. A perfect home base for all activities, such as skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, dining or just plain relaxing. We have your home away from home. Come enjoy!
  • Always a perfect stay with Bill Merry and Moly.

    Jeff2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was one of my favorite Air Bnb experiences. The hosts were very kind and left thoughtful touches like a flower arrangement in the living room. The space was clean and had more amenities than we needed. This studio is located on the most beautiful property. From the porch, you can watch wild birds & hummingbirds and see the horse grazing in his stable. The studio itself was super cozy and was very comfortable. I was also impressed by the signage leading to the studio. It made finding the airbnb super easy. We visiting during the Spring, so there were daffodils and cherry blossoms blooming EVERYWHERE. I would visit this property again. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away and relax.

  • Always perfect.

    Jeff2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cool place. Small but very homey. Private even though hosts lived next door in separate house. Very sweet, clean and cosy. Not Ikea furnished, thank goodness! Real. Quiet. Felt just perfect. Cant say enough nice things about the experience. In lovely country side..Comfortable for two. Just perfect to relax in at the end of a long day. Beautiful big deck overlooking the meadow and property. Old horse. Wonderful welcoming hosts. Frig and kitchen with yummy organic food; eggs, milk, yoghurt, juice, butter, English muffins, condiments, spices. Fresh flowers, bouquet of fresh herbs. One of our favorite places yet.

  • Bill and Mary's studio is the ultimate Northern California getaway, and they're the best hosts you could ever ask for. Their place is tucked away off the beaten path, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Bill and Mary went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and we enjoyed feeding their horse, T-Bone, and playing with their adorable mini Aussie, Molly. We hope to return one day!

Communication was quick, changes were processed immediately, and Tyler was professional and understanding. Looking forward to rebooking next time we visit the area (hopefully not in the middle of a bomb cyclone!)

We were celebrating my sister’s 50th birthday and there were flowers, chocolates and a birthday card waiting for her! Face masks were there for all of us which was a great touch to the girls’ weekend. The goats made us laugh and brought so much additional joy! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a break from the daily grind!!!!

  • See prior review above ... so good I extended my stay .

    Kamryn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I believe we cross people and places for a reason, I don't believe in coincidences, and when I knew it was time for a much needed break and I saw Christina and Daves place I knew I had found my little slice of heaven. I am so grateful for people like them who are willing to share this life to those of us who won't ever get to experience it otherwise. From the first email communication I felt at ease and welcome. These two are gems and I didn't even get to meet them in person. I pay attention to detail, I pay attention to the extras, but I pay even more attention to the communication and the vibe I get from the hosts. That tells me a lot from the beginning, as they say first impressions are everything and when I saw their picture which exuded kindness and after our initial communication I knew I was right . I knew there was something special about them and this place. They were always timely with communication, they give you total privacy, but check in to be sure you don't need anything and make sure you know you can reach out to them . From the moment you get on any one of the back roads to get to your beautiful guesthouse depending on where you are coming from, its gorgeous. From views of Folsom Lake, to gorgeous 100 year old oak trees and the forest canopies, you feel like you take a step back in time, at the very least a deep sigh of relief as the hustle and bustle of city life quickly disappears. As you drive up you immediately see the precious goats anxiously waiting for their handouts and you can help but smile. Then your eyes fix on this adorable blue house with a wrap around porch and a charm that makes you feel just GOOD. You have your own space to pull into, and you immediately feel at ease and I couldn't wait to settle in. The guesthouse has its own expansive yard with gorgeous views and of course the company of goats, bunnies and an occasional turkey. Upon entry you will find a spacious and wonderful equipped place with all the essentials and then some to make your stay feel like home. A wonderful selection of books and games, a cozy fireplace to snuggle up too and even a bathroom stocked with special touches. Wifi that works wonderfully, but truthfully you won't even want to be on it when you can step out to a yard with a view and a sky at night blazing with stars, an occasional hoot owl talking to you and coyotes and bullfrogs to sing you to sleep . Speaking of sleep, the bed is so comfy, I slept so peacefully, and that is not something that is a regularity for me very often. Depending on your mood you can be nestled right in a hammock in the country , rafting on a river, dancing in the city or polishing your California gold rush history up, everything is within a short drive, just another bonus this gem provides. You have can do as little or as much as you want. It's just a perfect location! This is truly a hidden gem and the worst part of it all .... is having to leave. They have thought of everything and do everything they can to make your stay wonderful. I can't wait to return . You won't be disappointed.

  • David and Christina’s place was amazing. Everything you could hope for a relaxing weekend. Thank again and look forward to visiting again.

  • I absolutely love the goats, the stylish space, beautiful country setting...Dave and Christina gave us privacy and provided local tips! They are not far from Sacramento and about one hour and a half from Lake Tahoe. They provide many thoughtful touches in the unit. Basic amenities to cook with and coffee & tea, soaps. Many towels and good linens. The highlight was our ability to interact with the friendly and playful goats! It's just a lovely country setting. I recommend and will be back!

Hummingbird House is a tiny house decorated in a vintage style, with quality craftsmanship, making use of all recycled building materials. Tucked away on 20 acres with gardens all around, goats, hens, ducks, dogs and cats. The house is newly remodeled and has kitchen, bathroom, double bed, single bed/nook/couch, and dining area table and chairs, with modern heating and air conditioning. Coffee, herbal teas from the garden, sugar, honey, creamy goat milk and cheese are all supplied from the farm.
The house is a small studio space with a full kitchen. The house will sleep three, but is more comfortable with two. The bathroom has a tub/shower and is brightly lit with glass blocks and a sliding glass door that look out on the goats and ducks. Just out the front door is a grape arbor with a sitting area underneath. We offer an outdoor wood sauna and cold bathtub plunge for 10 dollars. This is the real country so it may be dusty or muddy on occasion, so come prepared. It is usually quiet, but we regularly have projects and work to do, which can make some noise. We are up a long dirt driveway with vintage trucks along the way, and parking is spacious and easy. We are a couple miles from Highway 80.
  • Quiet, secluded property. There's a couple of friendly animals (cats, dog) that greeted us every morning. Only 8 minutes from Weimar Institute. We would stay there again. There's space for 3 (a double bed and a single-wide day bed), plus floor space for the portable crib we brought for the baby. Very quiet neighborhood.

    Ken2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space is lovely, comfy, charming and great! I had a wonderful time staying there with my two small kids (we threw down our own air mattress on the floor to give each kid their own bed). Jerre was very sweet and welcoming and offered to help out when I was feeling under the weather during my stay. Would definitely recommend!

  • Very neat place, small cute farm

    Boaz2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I thought the spot was charming. I loved being on a farm with animals. I stayed with my two kids and we loved it! If you pay attention, you can watch jerre milk the goats, and they sell goat cheese and milk. Loved it!

  • Perfect little retreat on a beautiful family farm.

    Shannon2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage interior is delightfully panelled in nice wood. Delicious tomatoes and chard from garden, and others we didn't sample, for cooking on gas range and in toaster oven. Very friendly, gentle and quiet dog greets guests and will happily escort them around the hilly property, with one of the three cats chipping in occasionally. Four penned goats are also happy to scrutinize and sniff guests and have their heads scratched. Hosts patiently answer questions about the elaborate homesteading done here over many decades. Surprisingly decent Wifi connection for such a remote location, although little or no signal for my cell phone. Absence of a TV contributes, alongside the smell of many kinds of trees and shrubs, to the feeling of taking time off from urban life, while being only short drives away from nice restaurants and other shopping.

    Neal2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location, the driveway is long and a bit dusty when we were there. The hummingbird house is a great space, while we were there outside we could hear a party near by, inside as quiet as can be. Definitely recommended!!!

  • Laura has a wonderful place and she is super thoughtful. We had five people stay, which was a lot for the space, but it was just what we were looking for. Would definitely recommend!

    Tim2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's cute little guesthouse was an absolute delight to stay in. My boyfriend and I both could not stop raving about how perfect it was. Laura's hospitality far exceeded our expectations with her thoughtful touches and quick communication. We stayed for Valentine's Day and were welcomed by a cute little box of Valentine's Day chocolates and the heater already on making the place cozy upon our arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the kitchen and decor were very cute. It is obvious a lot of thought went into putting the place together. If you are looking for a place to retreat, I highly recommend this gem. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again! Thank you, Laura!

We live on an acreage on the outskirts of Auburn, California, a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. We have fruit trees, grape vines, a big garden and chickens. We're located on the winding, tree-lined 'Wine Trail', with dozens of wineries close by. Auburn is known for its outdoor recreation and is situated on the American River -close to lakes, forests and mountains. It's also the home of Endurance Races... for runners and equestrians.
The space we offer is a large sunny room overlooking the small orchard from the deck and with access to the back yard as well. The room has a folding table and stools, small refrigerator, microwave and plates, bowls, cutlery, wine glasses, coffee cups and coffee maker. We also provide a selection of teas and instant cocoa. Feel free to enjoy the acreage, orchard, flowers and vegetable garden. We provide wi-fi, as well as local and internet tv, with Showtime, HBO, Hulu, PBS, etc.
Auburn began as a gold mining town and has wonderful museums and a lively 'old town'. There are tons of restaurants and two movie theaters... and of course, wineries. There are local rafting and kayak rentals, bicycle routes, hiking, festivals, historic walking tours...
  • Wonderful space in a beautiful setting.

  • The listing was exactly as pictured, very tidy, comfy bed, comfy couch. Extra instructions and tips to help along with the stay. The place was nice and toasty when we got there which was so nice as it was very cold out. Well stocked, very spacious. The host was very accommodating, and responsive. I would recommend this listing to anyone

    Karen2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We just stayed a quick night, arrived 10pm and out before 7am. The place was clean, easy to check in, and the beds were very comfortable. Hospitality was great. Offered to have the sofa bed ready for us and the heater was on so we arrived to a cozy space to rest. They had morning snacks and coffee, as well as mini fridge and microwave but we did not use. Communication was great. We would definitely come back.

Nestled in a beautiful oak grove, this delightful yurt offers tranquility, comfort and style for those who like the idea of camping, but don't want to "rough it." A vanishing edge pool and hot tub are shared by all guests on the property. We are in the midst of wineries and close to the river for swimming, whitewater rafting and hiking. We don't allow dogs in this yurt but we have other dog-friendly options: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19593601 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17944878
The Blackberry Yurt is nestled in a beautiful oak grove with filtered sunset views. At 150 square feet it feels just right for two people, with a premium queen-sized bed and a small table and chairs. It has an attached outhouse with a compost toilet and running water, and luxurious semi-outdoor showers (shared) are a short walk away. In the winter months the yurt is insulated with a heater and an extra blanket; in the summer there is an electric fan. Cooking facilities include: * drip coffee maker (filters, coffee and tea provided) * propane grill (propane included) * 3-burner propane cooktop * small mini-fridge * outdoor dining table with patio umbrella Please note that the cooking area is not covered in case of rain. You can either bring your own cookware, utensils, etc. or you can rent a camping box from us for $35 per stay which includes all you need to cook and serve your own food for two people, including place mats, plates, drinking glasses, mugs, bowls, eating utensils, dish towels, cooking utensils, salt and pepper, fry pan and pot, plus more. Best to reserve in advance to ensure availability. The yurt is located about 100 feet downhill from the parking spot -- we provide a cart for you to transport your stuff from your car to the yurt. The path is lit up at night if you arrive after dark. Our vanishing-edge, salt-water un-heated pool and hot tub feature spectacular sunset views and are available for guests from 8am to dusk. Perfect after a daytime hike or local excursion, the hot tub is heated during the 2 hours before sunset. We care about sustainability and the planet. We use unscented and chemical-free cleaners and laundry soap, and provide organic and biodegradable personal products for you to use during your stay. A cask of filtered, pure spring water from our on-site natural spring is provided in each unit, so no need to bring your own bottled water. Wifi is accessible throughout the property but since we are in a rural area, internet service is often slow and intermittent. To our chagrin, we found out when we moved here that it is not possible to get reliable, fast internet in our area. We suggest the best way to experience all our property has to offer is to unplug, enjoy the birds chirping, listen to the breeze whistling through the treetops, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Our property is close to many hiking trails. Chili Bar Park on the South Fork of the American River is a 15 minute drive away and has a great beach and swimming area. There are multiple lakes within a short drive for paddle boarding, swimming, and canoeing or kayaking. Multiple river rafting trips take off from Lotus/Coloma which is about 20 minutes away.
  • This is an awesome get away place. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors.

  • I had an amazing weekend in the BlackBerry Yurt. I was staying there solo and Tamara and Ramon were such wonderful hosts. Excellent communication and had a great binder of recommendations for the area. The David Girard wine tasting experience was so fun! Can’t wait to come back again - especially for the hot tub sunset views.

  • This is a great place to meditate and get away from the city. The saltwater pool and stargazing was my favorite part of my stay at the Reverie retreat! Tip: Make sure to read all the rules carefully. Just like any other retreat this is a place of complete peacefulness and simplicity. Book this place if you want a digital detox and get in touch with mother nature.

We fell in love with our home because of the stunning view and love to share it with travelers like you! We recently moved to the area with the mindset to share our home with Airbnb guests. It’s just my husband and I in a large home so we have a lot of space to share with you. We are located a mile from the center of town and the local wedding venues, Forest House Lodge, Mountain Shadows, and the Foresthill Memorial Hall.
You’ll love our breathtaking views and spacious home. We have keyless entry for our front door and your room for easy check-in/check-out. Your rooms are located in a private wing in our home and you have access to a dedicated bedroom and a second "bonus room" space with a king bed, futon , tv, dining area, mini fridge and a Nespresso coffee station. The bonus room can sleep up to four guests for an additional $20/guest/night. Both rooms share a private bath that has a dual vanity with a separate area for the shower and toilet.
Our town is a sleepy historic mining area filled with natural beauty. There are many lakes, rivers and hiking trails to enjoy close to our home. I’m happy to provide info on the local sites if you’re interested! We are very close to the local market and gas station. The center of town is about a mile down the road and that is where you will find the local wedding venues, museum, park, restaurants and cafe.
  • One of the best host

    Kenny2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying in a “shared space” air bnb as opposed to the entire place but it was the best option closest to where we were staying so I went for it and I’m really glad I did. Chelsea had great communication from the beginning and was understanding to some intial changes. The location has the best views and is private which I loved. The decor is very unique, I enjoyed looking at all the touches throughout the home. The rooms, bathroom and bedding were all very clean which is always a plus . Would def stay here for one of my future visits up North. Thanks for the hospitality Chelsea!

    Daisy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Chelsea and Casey went so bas beyond in making us feel welcome. From high-quality and very comfortable rooms to actually FEEDING us delicious food to a very sweet dog and cat to great tips and conversations, we enjoyed every minute of our stay here! We will definitely plan on returning! :)

  • Expect great hosts and their two weird, but amazingly funny pets. The rooms and bathroom were extremely clean and comfortable. There is a coffee station in the larger room to accommodate your caffeine needs and fridge/freezer to store goodies. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Foresthill is a beautiful town with friendly people. I highly recommend visiting the area and staying here!

  • Summer had a gorgeous property and lovely guest space. We had fun playing ping pong and enjoying an evening fire. The next morning we saw a family of deer and other wildlife around. Also, the sleeping space was separate and comfortable with great pillows! The best thing was access to a private small lake nearby that was beautiful and good for the soul! If we ever come back in the summer, definitely would bring a fishing pole. Thanks for a pleasant stay, Summer. :)

  • I stayed at Summer's with my fiance for a birthday weekend. The space is open and airy with a great style. It is separate from the main house and very quiet, which is just what I needed! The wood burning stove makes the space cozy and warm. The bed is super comfortable - luxury hotel quality! The house is about 20 minutes from Main Street Placerville, which was close enough to go back and forth and far enough away to feel tucked into nature. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Well thought out and immaculate. The fireplace was our favorite! Would definitely recommend staying here!!!!!! Summer was very helpfully.

  • Summer’s place was the perfect spot to crash and hang out and be cozy after a day trip up to Apple Hill. My boyfriend and I had such a nice time watching movies by the fire, and then curling up in the most comfortable bed. Their guesthouse was even more spacious than the pictures led on, and much more cozy than I could’ve imagined. She and her husband were very nice and accommodating, and I would absolutely stay with them again! I wished we had spent more than just one night here!

    Amanda2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Summer's place was bigger and nicer than the pictures portray. The property is beautiful and we wish we got to enjoy it more. We would definitely stay here again!

    Rebecca2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • More spacious than expected. AC unit worked fast when we needed it. Sat outside and saw some wildlife. We were only there one night but it was cozy enough to make us wish we had stayed another. Good access to Apple Hill and rafting.

Sweet studio close to downtown and old town Auburn. It has Tahoe style decor and is only 1 hour from Lake Tahoe. We are in a quiet neighborhood off Auburn Ravine Road close to everything. We are 7 minutes from downtown and in between highway 49 and highway 80. There is so much to do around here, we are a few minutes from breweries and wineries. We have hiking in the canyon, around Lakes, by the River and parks. We have a list of many great restaurants near by and a great music community.
This is the mountain room studio named for the decor and it has a private entrance, sweet log mountain bed, plenty of space to move around. It has a private patio too. We are close to both old town and downtown Auburn. There is an electric heater that looks like a fireplace. A small table and chairs to enjoy “take out” at one of our many local restaurants. We provide coffee and a bowl of fruit for your morning breakfast. There is a small fridge and microwave in the room. There is a hot tub on the back deck that is shared.
Its a 7 minute drive to downtown and historic Old Town Auburn. There are about 4 breweries within a short drive from the house. Crooked Lane is the closest, 4 minutes. There are a bunch of great restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. My house is on a coeur du sac. There are hiking trails all around us. Its only an hour from nearest ski resort. And 1 hour, 15 minutes from Tahoe City. Grass Valley and Nevada City is only 30 minutes off hwy 49. Sacramento is also only 30 minutes away.
