  • We Stayed in Woodpecker Lodge and have had a fantastic stay. Keith and Serena are lovely hostswith lots of local information. The lodge was perfect....there is a Woodpecker which you can hear and you may be lucky to see the Deer if you wander the pathways. There is an onsite store and a nearby Superstore for all needs. The hot tub sets it all off, it was ready for use when we got there and is great to get in at night with some Bubbly.

  • Well what can I say about woodpecker lodge? Absolutely amazing! We wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend to de stress and this log cabin was exactly the perfect place! The cabin was stylish and comfy. The kitchen well equipped for all needs and the log burner was amazing on the cold nights. We loved the hot tub with multi function and lights and even enjoyed it during stormy weather with torrential rain which made it even more special! Keith and his wife were awesome hosts and totally went above and beyond for us when we had a flat tyre! These guys are truly awesome and we will be recommending this place to our friends and family!

  • We had the best time at Woodpecker Lodge! The location is beautiful, private and so peaceful. The hot tub (an absolute favourite) and the wood burner made our stay extra special. Our great hosts responded quickly and couldn’t do enough to help. As a group we would absolutely recommend Woodpecker Lodge and we fully intend on returning for a longer stay in the future! :)

  • Beautiful log cabin set among the forest. Best thing about it was sitting in the hot tub with the star spattered sky above you, listening to the sounds of the wild like an owl and its chicks. You don’t get to hear or see much of that in the city! The cabin was spotless, the log burner a cosy touch and the kitchen was well stocked with every utensil, pan etc. you could possibly need. Perfect little break away and I would recommend to anyone!

  • Woodpecker Lodge is perfect! It’s clean and has everything you could possibly need. It’s in a secluded location and therefore you have your privacy. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • Really cosy and romantic cabin with plenty of space. We stayed in woodpecker lodge with a hot tub for three nights. For our first night we only had one neighbour but thankfully the hot tub is mostly covered by a wooden screen - the hot tub next door was the other side of some bushes and we could hear the others but it didn’t disturb us. Access to the hot tub was a little chilly as you can’t go from the cabin door down the steps to it, there’s a wooden ramp before hand but once you’re in the tub it’s lovely. The shop was shut when we went to visit for more drinks or kindling (you get enough for 1 fire) but we sent a message and they opened up quickly for us. We were given detailed maps and some recommendations of where to go and what to see. We did the pooh sticks walk which was about 3 miles in total and had some nice views. The amenities were clean but the crockery and cutlery was all poorly washed so we had to clean things as we used them - that’s most likely the fault of previous occupants though and not necessarily the hosts. All in all a positive experience, it was a relaxing, charming atmosphere and comfortable.

  • I would highly recommend this beautiful place. So relaxing and cosy. Staff are very helpful and friendly with giving tips on what to do locally. I would love to come back again.

  • Woodpecker Lodge is the perfect place for a relaxing break. The lodge is bigger than it looks in the photos, and has absolutely everything you need. The hot tub was lovely and warm, and perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking. The lodge is cosy and very warm and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back again.

  • Paul was the perfect host, from the minute we arrived we were treated with the best hospitality. The venue exceeded everyone’s expectations and was perfect for the hen do we had planned. The food was fantastic! I cannot fault our stay we will most certainly be back and I could not recommend more! Thank you Paul

    Charlotte2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with lots of things to do. We would love to return when the weather improves and make use of the lovely outdoor pool and facilities but the hot tub was fantastic. In the evening we made use of the separate ‘party area’ which was lovely. Paul lit the wood burner so we all sat down and ate together or had a dip in the tub. Lyme Regis is fab for a day out, fresh fish and lovely shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

    Kerry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a hen party. Super accommodating host (Paul), very friendly and on hand to help with any queries. So many great little touches - fires burning on arrival, massage chair, karaoke, hot tub ...the lists goes on... Fantastic value and location.

    Jacqui2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a lovely, laid back host. He made sure that the fires were lit to keep us warm out in the party house, and was always available if we needed anything. The place itself was amazing and is simply the perfect location for any event/occasion (we were celebrating a 21st birthday). I would not hesitate to book again!

    Chloe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • 12 of us headed down to Mistletoe Farm for a hen party in January and it could not have been more perfect. The location was beautiful and we had a lovely countryside walk to the Haymakers pub nearby. The venue itself was amazing - beautiful buildings, nice clean beds, everything we needed. Our favourite was the bar/party room which was well stocked and had great touches such as the disco lights and karaoke machine. The log burner kept it nice and cosy and there was plenty of space for us to chill/dance/eat/party. Paul and his family were excellent hosts - a great mix of tolerant (!) attentive, but not at all in the way, and good humoured. They made a delicious curry for our dinner - the onion bhajis especially were a huge hit. He kept our fire burning and seemed to be so pleased that we were having a great time in the surroundings he'd created. We're already plotting an excuse to head back down in the future, if they'd have us - be it for another hen, a family get together or just a countryside retreat. Wonderful, flexible venue and hosts!!! Thank you so much, the hen and the rest of us had the best time.

    Joanne2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We all had the best time here, 10 of us visited to celebrate a 30th. Paul was the perfect host who was there when we needed him, then let us have the place to ourselves the rest of the time! He was so helpful showing us round and so relaxed around setting up the rooms with decorations to make it an extra special birthday. The party rooms are separate from the sleeping areas which makes it really to host events here and the hot tub, party room with kareoke, sauna and bar were real highlights. Could not recommend this place more for hosting birthday or group celebration!

    Natalie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - outstanding hospitality from Paul, always happy to help and making sure the fire(s) were lit. Pool/hot tub/sauna excellent and clean.

Small and cosy country getaway complete with wood burner and garden that opens on to fields and forest with the opportunity for endless walks yet close enough to the surrounding beaches and restaurants.
PLEASE NOTE MINIMUM STAY OF 3 NIGHTS FOR PEAK HOLIDAY PERIODS THE COTTAGE: The cottage has a sitting room with wood burner & dry stack of wood, a walk-through dining area with door to the garden and a well equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed the other with 2 singles all made up with fresh bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a bath with shower. Outside is a sweet garden that includes a sun trap with garden table and chairs. The back of the garden takes you straight into nature and numerous walks. THE AREA: Just under 10 miles from the Jurassic coastline and Lyme Regis, the cottage is a true haven where you can trade city life for the tranquility of country life. Thorncombe is a popular village complete with charming shop, church and a school with keys available for use of their small swimming pool in the summer months. Wind your way through the narrow lanes to nearby towns such as Beaminster and Bridport, whether sampling the local brew or just pottering through the Art and Vintage Quarter. Take in a movie at Bridport's wonderfully renovated arts cinema or a wood fire pizza on the beach at West Bay. Maybe go to River Cottage Canteen and Deli in Axminster. There are excellent restaurants and pubs to recommend in every direction and after walking off lunch you can put your feet up by the log fire with a good read. If summer days are calling there's lots to do with the kids, exploring beaches and hunting for fossils on the world famous Jurassic coastline or a trip out fishing for mackerel from Lyme's picturesque harbour. For fun closer to home, the village has a small playground just 3 minutes from the cottage complete with football field and basket ball hoop. A short walk away there's a forest, great for making dens or getting lost amongst the bluebells. For further indulgence try a slice of cake in the village shop. SUMMARY: A holiday to remember no matter your age, with one of the most beautiful swathes of countryside on your door step recognized as an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty bordering Somerset, Devon & Dorset. A car to explore is really an essential unless you are content to explore on foot; the village shop is stocked well for all groceries and local produce and has a small deli counter. There are a number of farm shops further afield. Depending on the kind of break you are looking for, there are many great walks and days out to recommend with some excellent restaurants to match.
A very popular village immersed in stunning countryside within easy reach of the beaches. If you're planning on enrolling on one of the local courses we are well located for Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ or Guy Mallinson's Wood Craft Workshops. Right here in Thorncombe, you could sign up for one of Hannah Lovegrove's Yoga classes.
  • The Cottage is bijou but beautifully decorated and well supplied. We had everything we needed and more. Thorncombe is a lovely village, the Community Shop / Village Store is an excellent local resource.

  • We had a wonderful time! The cottage is super cosy and in a great location to get around- both by car and local walks. We felt very at home there! It's also dog friendly which was great for us and our Labrador. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage and check in was straightforward with the lockbox. Caz was easy and quick to communicate with. I would certainly recommend this cottage as a great country/ seaside getaway!

    Lucy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage which is perfectly located to explore the Dorset, Devon & Somerset countries and cost. We spent Christmas at the cottage which was the perfect setting for a cosy day and a nice Christmas Day walk. We had everything we needed and all the info provided by Caz was super helpful to make the most of our time.

  • A cozy cottage deep in the countryside and perfect for a relaxing escape. Very conveniently located for country walks and the coast - wish we had longer to explore!

    Harriet2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Caz’s place is a delightful, homely cottage situated in a charming traditional terrace in a very peaceful village location. It is very clean and well equipped and feels pleasantly lived in and loved. We found the wood burning stove a great asset for a November stay and there was a plentiful supply of logs. The surrounding countryside is very appealing, especially if you enjoy walks, and the coast is also nearby. Highly recommended for a peaceful, relaxing stay.

    Bud2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and homely little cottage in lovely rural setting. We loved the snug living room with it’s log burning stove, had amazing nights sleep in the warm and comfy bedroom with its king size bed and complete darkness and quiet, and walking straight out the back garden through fields and woods with countryside in all directions. The kitchen is small but manageable and the shower is hot and strong. Good location to visit surrounding area by car, Seatown and the Golden Cap have great dog walks. Caz also provided some great recommendations on where to eat nearby, The Lord Poulett was particularly good. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you Caz.

    Sally2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A really cute cottage with lovely sense of style. Very comfortable and cosy. In a very attractive setting with a village store staffed by friendly locals. Kitchen very well equipped with mod cons. Amazingly quiet and dark at night - so restful for those who live in cities. Wonderful place for exploring the beautiful countryside of Dorset. Half an hour to the sea if you want to do the south west coast path which we would highly recommend. Caz was a pleasure to deal with. We will return. Many thanks for the hospitality.

  • Great find. We only used Maureen’s place for a one night stopover but would happily have spent more time there. The house was clean and comfortable and Maureen left us breakfast supplies for the morning.

  • A very tranquil and private accomodation, with easy access to Axminster. We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

  • We had a great time at Simon and Greta’s and felt very looked after. We arrived to a fridge full of all the essentials plus fresh eggs, apples grown in the orchard and even some delicious cider. We were there to visit Lyme Regis and draw the landscape, so we were perfectly located with a 20 minute drive to the beach. We were there in October and had a couple of days with high winds but it was so cosy to be in our little studio hide out. It felt so snug. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

    Kate2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is exactly as described. Very comfy beds, a couple of arm chairs for tv watching. We took our own supper and there were plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. Fabulous provisions for breakfast, a real bonus, with fab verandah and view. Lovely hosts.

A very generous (maybe too generous) selection was available for breakfast. We stayed to go to a wedding party nearby and after being let down by the taxi company our host simon kindly took us

  • The property is so much better than the pictures suggest and it looks lovely in the pictures. Even though it is attached to the hosts house it feels completely private and having exclusive use of the hot tub is wonderful. Definatley recommend if you are looking to stay in the area

  • The reviews for this lodge are amazing, and we certainly were not disappointed! My friend and I stayed for new year, along with her two children (one 4-year old, and one 4-week old by prior arrangement). We messaged regarding the baby and Michael and Caroline responded quickly and were very helpful. The directions given by Michael were clear and easy to follow. There is plenty of parking too, and Michael gave a very warm welcome and all the information we needed on arrival. The lodge has everything you may need, and is beautifully decorated. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax, and the information about the local area was very useful. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting a calm and homely place to stay!

Smallcote is a 5 minute walk into the vibrant town where there are charming independent shops, 2 lovely bistros serving lunch and dinner and 2 pubs. There is a plethora of excellent pubs and restaurants a short drive away.
  • I booked Rosemary and Pete's place for a much needed break for my parents. Thank you for the lovely warm welcome you gave to Mum and Dad. They were truly delighted with how stylish and well appointed the property was with everything they could possibly need. They had a wonderful time and raved about their perfect nights sleep in beautiful bed linen and the softest pillows! It all sounded lovely - I hope that I get a chance to visit myself sometime!

Everthing you need is provided and rosemary and pete were available if we had any questions. The added bonus is the cottageof is a short walk from pubs and restaurants. Today's menu next to the George pub is well worth a try for a nice meal out. Thank you Rosemary and Pete!

  • What a wonderful, wonderful place tucked away right in the heart of Ilminster. Rosemary and Pete have decorated Smallcote really stylishly and it’s so cosy that we just loved curling up on the sofa in the evening. There were lots of thoughtful touches, delicious local foodie bits and their communication was faultless before and throughout. Ilminster is a very cute little town and there’s a large Tesco around the corner for stocking up! Without a doubt one of the loveliest Airbnbs I’ve stayed in!

  • Little Knapp is the best airbnb we have ever stayed in! Cheryl and Paul pay great attention to every conceivable finer detail, from the wonderful welcome package of goodies, to the brilliantly researched local information, and there is even a netflix account. Everything is sparkly clean and we loved the luxurious matching home furnishings and decor. It was a real treat to experience such a cosy place, with underfloor heating, beautiful bathroom with power shower, and Velux windows so we could lie in bed and gaze up at the starry sky. It is so well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable and memorable break.

  • The Little Knapp is so beautiful and cosy and the personal touches were so lovely and appreciated! The place was incredibly clean and has absolutely everything you will need for a weekend away! The village is perfect for little walks, especially with our little four-legged friend and only a 15-20 minute drive away from the beaches (a lovely drive through the wilderness!) Highly recommend staying here!

So grateful to travel and find gems like this. Worth so much more than they charge, you’ll be so happy you stayed with Christine. I’ll definitely be back soon for another visit!

  • Fantastic apartment with beautiful views at the top of an amazing Grade 2 historic building. Everything was as described and very clean. There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding areas which I would really recommend. Thank you to Christina for the recommendation of the Candlelight Inn - very cozy, cute local pub! It can get slightly chilly without central heating but there are a couple space heaters and an electric blanket. I would definitely come back and would recommend!

  • The apartment is lovely, spacious and very well appointed with a superb view. The house itself is full of character and set in a very quiet location, so nothing to disturb your sleep. The hosts have left a plethora of information about local things to do. The village has no pub so it is a bit of a walk or a short car ride to find somewhere to eat but the kitchen in the apartment has more than sufficient facilities to self-cater. Lovely hosts with a lovely home - an Airbnb classic!

The Shower room has a walk in shower, heated towel rail and heated mirror to avoid it steaming up. Of course on top of this is the view towards Forde Abbey, Chard. Perfect for a romantic stay should you be visiting there for a wedding. Just to let you know you will need to travel by car. We do have an electric car charging point should you need to use this but only with prior arrangement.
This is a rural setting, but a short drive and you can get to the town of Chard for supermarkets and shops. Easy access to the A303, Exeter, Jurassic Coast or the M5 J25 Taunton.

Our cottage is located in a village on a quiet country lane popular with walkers, horse riders and cyclists. The village is located just off the A303 and the A358, near to the Blackdown Hills, an area of oustanding natural beauty. And near to the Somerset Levels. Ideal for breaking your journey if you are travelling to and from Cornwall. And ideal for a quiet time in the country. There are two pubs within walking distance. Both do excellent food (one closed on Mondays).
The room is located on the ground floor, at the back of the cottage with its own access. There is an ensuite shower room with toilet and wash basin. It is a barn style, light and airy, single storey room with two velux windows. A kettle, mugs and a variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate is provided.
This part of Somerset is often overlooked. Visitors and holidaymakers drive through on their way to Devon or Cornwall. They are missing out on a beautiful part of the West Country. The unspoilt Blackdown Hills offer excellent walking opportunities. The nearby Somerset Levels are a haven for cyclists and for wildlife. The abundance of small village cafe's, often run by volunteers, make local touring a complete delight.
  • Anne & Tim are excellent hosts, they made me feel right at home. They have a wonderful space with lots of room and the parking was off the road and right outside the room I was staying in which made everything super easy! Breakfast in the morning was a lovely treat too. Thank you so much!

    Noah2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Tim were so lovely and happy to accommodate our late arrival and early departure. Highly recommend staying with them!

  • We had a lovely 1 night stay and Anne and Tim were attentive and very friendly hosts. We walked to The Bell pub and took a lovely dark, stumble home. The bed was comfy and it was very peaceful and quiet in the morning. Breakfast was very well received and a nice touch. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and indeed book again.

    Lucy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • You'll get a warm friendly welcome at Anne's place. There's a comfy bed to lay your head a nice shower room to freshen up and plenty of space to spread out and relax and TV as well. Breakfast in the morning will give most people a good start for the day, so come and stay for a very reasonable price.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Alpine Lodge. The log cabin was perfect in every way: woodburner, dishwasher, modern shower, comfortable beds and relaxing sofas as well as lots of lovely little touches to make our stay wonderful. The cabin was surrounded amongst a beautiful wooded area which was great for walks. We also enjoyed venturing out to Lyme Regis and Charmouth for fossil hunting (with success!) and Cheddar Gorge to relish the beautiful views of Somerset. Would love to visit again one day.

  • Karen's place has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It's just like in the photos and the bed is super comfortable. We had a great meal at Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George. Thanks again, Karen :)

    Ann2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • It is exactly like the pictures! Loved the little touches, bowl of fruit, shortbread and a bottle of cider from Perry’s which is 5 minutes up the road. The bed is comfy, a lovely living space, sparkling clean with every kind of tool you’d ever need in the kitchen. The WiFi is great (no drop outs, fast etc.) My only complaint if I was going to be picky is that the shower isn’t very powerful, but genuinely loved my stay.

    Lydia2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the loft. A cosy stylish space with beautiful walks from the doorstep. We spent a lovely day exploring Glastonbury just a 40-minute drive away.

  • This place is a little gem, exceeded expectations without a doubt. Much bigger than I anticipated. Kitted our with everything and more than you could wish for. Some essentials were there for us to enjoy, such as bread, butter, homemade plum jam, duck eggs milk tea and coffee. Paula was a wonderful host who showed me round and was happy for me to contact her whilst there if we needed anything we didn’t have (as I said previously they have kitted this place out with literally everything you could need/want) Visiting family in the area this was perfect for myself, my daughter and our pooch Marley. Will certainly book again. Thanks again.

  • We had a lovely time here and it was a great place to stay. Wonderful hosts and the eggs and bread were a lovely thought. Thank you very much

    Eivlc2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a perfect stay for me and my family. We had stayed there for 13 nights, when entering the site we had an impact of an exceeded expectation. The place is in a very beautiful hilly location, close to Ilminster and you can supply easier with food and drinks. The annex is great, very tidy clean and warm and it has also history: it has around 400 years old and it used to be something else, they renovated using the walls between the bedroom, lounge and bathroom (the remaining of the old building maybe) and added the rest of it and gave a classic style that you feel when entering inside. There is also a longcase clock and it's up to you whether you want to pull the cable pulleys or not. Paula and Chris are two lovely hosts and they know the area very well and they can guide you especially if you are looking for carboots or other similar events. They are very flexibile and understanding, and if you have a pet or not, looking for a relaxing place for holidays , this place is the best for you!

A modern static caravan at the top of our Farmhouse garden overlooking open countryside. You will have your own entrance and parking. Should you need us during your stay someone is always on the farm. If you like walking there are many footpaths over our farm leading to Hawkchurch or Axminster. There is also a cycle path at the bottom of our road - Weycroft Mill. We are a 15-20 minute drive from the Jurassic coastline of Lyme Regis & Seaton. There are many pubs & restaurants we can recommend.
We live down a private stone track that is 1/2 a mile long and uneven so we would advise you to drive very slowly
Axminster has many coffee shops, pubs & shops. Also a varied selection of places to eat - Chinese, Indian, pizza, fish & chips and even a community waffle shop.
  • Talk about value for money - we had a wonderful stay, made all the more special with the homemade cake on arrival and delicious gooseberry jam! Fantastic rural location and just 20 mins drive to the gorgeous Lyme Regis. I must say our stay was completely transformed by the log burner - we were given enough wood to keep it lit throughout our stay, and it added a really lovely cosy feel to the caravan. There's a TV, but we didn't use it - the views across the fields were entertaining enough. Definitely recommend. Get booking!

  • Suzy and Andrew's cottage is every bit as good as it looks. Clean, comfortable beds, characterful, lovely to sit in front of wood burner with logs and kindling provided. We would certainly visit again. Communication was excellent, the Lemon Drizzle cake was delicious and the Cider was an added bonus. Suzy really makes an effort to engage and make the stay a good one.

  • This is a cracking cottage set in a gorgeous location. Can’t speak highly enough about how good Suzy and Andrew were as hosts, the cottage was not only spotless on arrival but we were greeted with homemade lemon drizzle cake and some local cider! Beautiful surroundings to explore and not far from the coast either which is a bonus when the sun (finally) comes out! Would highly recommend staying here, we hope to be back for sure.

  • Scrumpy cottage is a real home from home, offering a beautifully appointed, tastefully decorated, comfortable home. The accommodation set up suited our needs perfectly. We also appreciated the extra special little touches. Both beds were supremely comfortable, with sumptuous bedding. The sofas in the lounge were also very comfortable. Both bathrooms were immaculate and tastefully fitted out. The kitchen had all mod cons with a handy boot room. The outdoor space was a lovely fully enclosed courtyard handy for our little doggy. Unloading and loading the car and parking were easy. The utter peace, tranquility and nighttime darkness gave us the perfect start to our holiday. I truly believe we have found our perfect stop over ! Suzy was the perfect hostess, nothing was too much trouble for her.

  • We had a lovely time in the cottage. From the start to end this was the simplest air BnB experience. Great communication, simple check in, a lovely warm welcome with local cider and a home baked cake (which is incredible!). The cottage is better than the pics, a real find. It is very homely and cosy. The fire was excellent, beautifully furnished. The beds were really comfy and the place always felt warm. The local pub is excellent and they were very welcoming. Situated in a lovely part of Somerset and close to lots of attractions and things to do. Would 100% stay again and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking.

2 bedroom cottage in lovely quiet surroundings on the borders of Somerset, Devon and Dorset and within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast and the Blackdown Hills. Well situated between Exeter and Taunton with good access to Lyme Regis, Axminster, Sidmouth and Bridport. The Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are about an hour's drive away. Comfortable home with fully equipped kitchen and secure, private garden - ideal for families, and well behaved dogs are very welcome.
The living area downstairs is very spacious with comfortable sofas (one turns into a sofa bed) and a 43 inch smart TV with access to Netflix. Dedicated wifi with superfast fibre optic broadband was installed in January 2019. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster and kettle, together with most items anyone would need to rustle up a meal. There's a table which seats 4, together with a breakfast bar and 2 bar stools. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with wardrobes. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. There are sloping ceilings in all upstairs rooms which add to the cottagey feel of the property. Outside is a small patio with table and benches, a good sized garden laid mainly to lawn, and a drive big enough for 2 large cars. The property is fenced all round to provide security and prevent small children and dogs from escaping! Very well set up for small children - we can provide travel cot, highchair, bed bars and stairgate. We also have ample plastic bowls, plates, cups, cutlery etc for little people. The layout downstairs works well for families and there's good visibility between the kitchen and sitting room.
The local neighbourhood is very quiet and there's a very well stocked village shop with post office 5 minutes' walk from the cottage. There are a lot of public footpaths and good country walks from the cottage which makes it ideal for visitors with dogs. There's a bus stop 100 yards away with buses to Taunton and Lyme Regis

  • The house is large and spacious for a family of 3. I enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen while my wife and 8 year old daughter played board games and watched Tv in the living space. The location was great for visiting the Jurassic coast. A shame the weather was bad but we loved hiding for the afternoon in Hazel lodge anyway!

  • Sally’s place was excellent. As described and a great spot from which to explore the local area. Sally was a lovely host, friendly and quick to respond to any of our queries.

    David2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the ideal place to stay whatever your needs. Sally has produced an information guide which we all agreed was the best we had seen. This meant we were able to make the best of our stay even though we were hit with the strongest storm for seven years. We certainly hope to visit again.

  • Sally is a great host and it's a beautiful space. We visited for the weekend to visit family so the location was perfect. We had our young son and our dog, so they kindly made a cake and provided a bottle of wine. The extra touches we're lovely, as will definitely be back.

Beautiful fully equipped self contained barn in the heart of the Somerset countryside on our relaxed farm. Large cosy living space, underfloor heating, patio overlooking the duck pond, gallery landing, en suite double bedroom. Easy access to Lyme Regis and Jurassic coast. Friendly local pub with good food in village.
Working farmyard location. Surrounded by fields. Meet and greet the kuni kuni pigs..admire the highland cattle..watch the sunrise..
The unspoilt countryside, the local pub and shop/post office, the cycle path, the cider mills, the vegetarian cafe in Ilminster, cliff and beach walks on dorset/devon coast..
  • Can’t recommend enough. Wonderful accommodation and a lovely local area. Had a great weekend

  • Rosie's place was a lovely place to stay for a last minute weekend trip! The place is bigger than it looks in the pictures and is incredibly cosy with lots of comfy places to snuggle up on! The grounds around the AirBnb are beautiful. Our favourite thing was feeding the Kuni Kuni pigs and having a cuddle with Ogg, their lovely boxer dog! Would recommend Rosie's place and would love to visit again.

  • Rosie’s place was gorgeous! It was so peaceful & perfect for a relaxing weekend away for my partner & I. Their lovely boxer dog was so friendly & came to our door both mornings. The place itself was so homely & super comfy! Rosie also suggested places to visit, including the local pub which was great. Would definitely recommend for a tranquil break. Thanks so much Rosie!

  • The barn was beautiful. Very clean and larger than expected- the photos don’t do it justice! Although our stay was short it felt warm and we could have comfortably stayed longer. Location wise the barn worked well as a base camp, with plenty to do in the area. If we visit the area again we’d more than happily return. Thankyou Rosie!

A modern cosy barn conversion in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the fringe of the Blackdown Hills and Jurassic coast ANOB. Close to the coast and in easy reach of Lyme Regis, Beer and Branscombe as well as being conveniently located for outdoor activities in the countryside.
Entry is up some stone steps to the first floor where a small well equipped kitchen area is located and also the dining and seating areas. Down the stairs from the kitchen area is the bedroom with generous cupboard and drawer space and a comfortable double bed. There is a modern bathroom with a shower and toilet and under the stairs there is a washing machine.
The Nest is located in the hamlet of Holy City. There are 3 pubs that can be reached via footpaths across the fields and woods, or by a short drive.
  • It was such a pleasure staying at this beautiful barn conversion on Sue and James' farm. A very warm welcome, helpful and friendly, we even got to feed and put the chickens to bed (and they produced eggs for our breakfasts)! Very warm in a fairly mild mid-winter with a stylish wood burner. Spacious modern shower. Location was very peaceful and quiet, with very few vehicles passing along the small country lane, a couple of excellent nearby pubs and only about 25 minutes drive down to Lyme Regis. Highly recommended.

  • This is an absolute gem of a find. Friendly hosts, fab accommodation, everything you could need - I can’t rate it highly enough. Very accessible for the beach (15 minute drive), quiet, excellent local pub (The George), and a very warm welcome. Book up - you won’t be disappointed.

This newly built cabin with ensuite shower is tucked away in its own private garden but close to the hosts family home with its delightful wild garden bordered by woodland. Very secluded and peaceful, it is situated just outside the attractive rural village of Winsham in South Somerset and is within short walking distance of the village shop and pub. Winsham is on the borders of Devon and Dorset and within easy reach of the Jurassic coastal towns of Lyme Regis, Bridport and West Bay.
  • Lovely place which is full of charm! Very cosy space and the breakfast was a lovely touch.

  • Exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable, clean place to stay, lovely breakfast, friendly host and dog, lovely place for a night away.

  • We have had a lovely weekend staying in the garden cabin. Suzy is a great host and the breakfast was a fabulous added bonus. Walnut the dog came to great us at the door both mornings and kept us company. Great value, lovely and clean and a very relaxing atmosphere.

    Emma2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great one night stay at a beautiful cabin in secluded gardens with wonderful host and gorgeous dog Walnut who was our devoted breakfast companion, which we loved😊. Would definitely stay again, cabin decorated and furnished tastefully in private spot in Suzy's garden. Chickens wandering around and waking up to the sound of the cockrell crowing was lovely.

  • Lovely cabin surrounded by beautiful gardens. Excellent spot for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Suzy is a wonderful host, nicely prepared continental breakfast and local tips. Star attraction though was the dog, Walnut - seeing his tail wagging like mad was the best way to greet the day!

    Robert2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy is a great host, good communication and good local tips. We also enjoyed the stay in the cabin which was sparkling clean, and really nice and romantic. Everything was perfect and also the beautiful dog Walnut was very friendly . We will come back, thank you!!

  • Quiet little cabin - your own space with all that you’d need- plus a wonderful breakfast from a warm host and her lovely dog. A really easy, lovely Airbnb experience - and super value!

    Kate2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Suzy’s! The cabin was quiet, tidy and a cool experience. We spent most of our days out exploring but it was a great retreat to come back to. Suzy made us a lovely continental breakfast and offered many suggestions for dinner in the area. From my research (esp. for how short notice we booked) I felt that Suzy’s was the best value.
