Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . 2-star gîte with private terrace and enclosed garden

The apartment is a type 2 furnished apartment, on the ground floor with covered terrace, barbecue garden furniture, enclosed and wooded grounds. It is a 2-star cottage. The village is at walking distance (300m). I recommend a magnificent hike along the Ardèche from the house: the circus of PEOPLE ( 2 to 3 hours of wonder). We are close to Vallon Pont d 'Arc and the Chauvet cave. Nearby there are also the classified villages of Labeaume, Balazuc and Voguë.

Picturesque, bright and quiet house, close to all amenities on foot (shops, bars and restaurants). On the ground floor you will find my watercolor workshop (Couleur Mande) which has independent access. On the first floor, the main room, warm and bright atmosphere with a living room, TV and an open-plan kitchen (microwave, stove, toaster, fridge, coffee machines...). On the second floor, the sleeping area and its bathroom. The balcony is not overlooked.
