Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Joanna's home is in a great location and she was a wonderful host. The property was exactly as shown in the photos and is relatively large by London standards - this is one of the benefits of being a bit further out the city center. Proximity to Richmond Park is a huge plus, particularly if you have a runner or cyclist in your family. Do note the travel time into central London is approximately 45-60 minutes, unless you happen to exactly time walking/bus/train schedules. On the plus side, you're a very short hop to Kew and other areas west of downtown, and a short Uber or Bolt ride to Heathrow. A couple of other HUGE positives - of the four rentals I've had in London, this was by far the quietest and most relaxed location. Restaurants/markets/etc. are all close by and accessible by bus if you're carrying groceries.

Lovely place and great breakfast!

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Karen’s. I’ve stayed at lots of Airbnbs over the years but this is the first time I’ve stayed at the same place more than once. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom are so lovely and spacious and the bedroom has a view of the large garden which is full of trees. It’s a perfect location to visit the wonderful Kew Gardens which I did. Karen is very helpful and friendly. Thanks again Karen!

We had a great stay at Fiona’s place! The room was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. It was clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. Fiona was incredibly easy to reach and super responsive with communication, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We felt very welcomed. Carol’s lovely home is bright and airy. Shared bathroom is pristine, and I only saw one other person use it once. It was practically “mine”. As a solo female traveller, the very safe neighborhood (even late at night) and the leisurely 2 min walk to the train were a plus. Everyone on Airbnb SAYS they are a 2-min walk to everything, but Carol’s home literally is. Grocery, pubs, cafes, fine dining, and a lovely waterfront walkway in town, provide anything you might need. Carol herself is warm and friendly. Very responsive and helpful. Just a lovely human. 🙂 Note: The 30-min train ride into central London is not the tube. It’s a very comfortable, air conditioned “suburban line”. No transfers. Just walk the two mins, relax for 30, and you’re at Waterloo station, from which you can get anywhere. Can’t say enough good things. Be sure to check out the “French” cafe Feathers and Heart. Great food and service. *Gorgeous* garden with several shaded seating areas, and it is y ruly quiet.

Katherine and Jonathan’s beautiful guest space was simply wonderful for my visit. I had a sad event to attend, having somewhere I could come back to, so I could enjoy my own company and relax with a warm bath and lovely surroundings that are clearly taken care of to a high standard and with love was very much evident. What stood out for me was the peaceful view out of the window whilst I enjoyed my morning coffee and the very tasty juice left in the fridge, a refreshing drink very much appreciated when I started it the evening before on my return from the event. I loved the space so much that a return visit is definitely in order with a visit to Kew Gardens whilst I am there. Katherine and Jonathan were extremely communicative hosts and they pretty much covered everything in their welcome to the house and the carefully thought out local guide.

The perfect place for us the stay for our wedding weekend. We were married in Kew Gardens and the house was a gorgeous (and photogenic) ‘getting ready’ venue and a wonderful home to relax in the day afterwards. Beautiful, immaculate home with lovely, thoughtful hosts.

Helena is a most accommodating host, generously welcoming you to her home. The location is accessible to public transportation with bus & train options for getting into London or areas west of the city. Helena very kindly drove us to the airport, which was greatly appreciated.

Arthur’s studio was perfect for our needs with daily trips onto and out on the A4 or to South London, it was extremely well located. We were very grateful to Arthur in offering us a car space which made our time in England no fuss and easy each day. All local amenities less than 5 mins walk including supermarket, cafés, train station, shops etc

Maria was very responsive when I had a question, and her place was as described. Very quiet, safe location, and very comfortable interior. Conveniently located to bus-stops and South Ealing Underground. The 65 bus will take you right to historic Richmond, for a nice day out. Highly recommend, and would certainly stay there again.

Our stay was amazing! Walkable to the Richmond green where we spent a lot of our time! Excellent restaurants and dessert places right down the street. The location couldn’t have been better! We had a grocery store right down the road that we walked to for groceries. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. The second room was perfect for my little ones. We had an excellent time! I’m sad our stay is over. 10/10 would recommend!

Overall the place is described as it is written before we booked. The place fit perfectly for what we needed for the stay.

Second time we have stayed at The Coach House and great experience both times. Really interesting conversion in a good location for access to central London. Super comfy bed and all facilities needed. Virginia was really helpful and flexible around our booking requirements.

We had such a wonderful time. The flat has absolutely everything you need and plenty more. The art, the plants, the books and the decor make it a very special place. Situated close to the beautiful Terrace Gardens and Richmond Park and with cafes , pubs and convenience stores steps away you will not be disappointed. Easy walk down the hill to the station and everything Richmond has to offer. James was absolutely charming and super helpful. Highly recommend🤗

This place was exactly what we needed. It actually has its own gate into trails that lead into Richmond park. Has a beautiful garden. It was peaceful and quiet. Peter and his lovely wife were very responsive to any of our questions and needs. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place-convenient & comfortable. The flat was under the approach to Heathrow during our stay but ear plugs at night easily solved that so it was not an issue for us. Would stay there again without hesitation.

First, for some credibility: I have been to Europe almost 250 times, staying in a wide range of accommodations, from five-star hotels to youth hostels. So I pretty much know a good place to stay when I see it. And Ramin‘s place was absolutely sensational. A big flat, a great neighborhood, spotlessly clean, with easy access to public transport, supermarkets, and great pubs. I work in London two or three times a year, and I’m always looking for a great place to stay. This was it! Ramin is a sensational host. I could not recommend the place more!

This was the second time we are staying at Lola's apartment! We had an amazing 2-day stay at Lola's apartment! The place was spotless, well-equipped, and felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect, with easy access to everything I needed. What truly made the stay special was Lola's kindness and hospitality. She went out of her way to help in many ways. Her quick responses and attention to detail made everything seamless. I couldn't have asked for a better host. I highly recommend staying at Lola's place and would definitely come back again. I was extremely pleased with my choice of this place. From the very first contact, Peter was attentive and helpful, always available to assist from before check-in until checkout. The space is beautiful, cozy, and offers a unique connection with nature. The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. I loved every detail, plan to return, and definitely recommend it!

This is an absolute gem of a place and location, with views right across the Darent Valley. I only wish we could have stayed longer! The place was spotless and everything had been perfectly prepared and very well thought through (from the local hand-drawn maps right down to the vast array of toiletries on offer). I can't think of a single thing to change or improve about the place. Diana was a lovely host and provided a lot of information prior to arrival. She had also found some suggestions of activities for us tailored to our interests, which was frankly above and beyond. We were very grateful and it was clear a lot of thought had been put in prior to our arrival. I could carry on for pages but in summary, we have already recommend the place to family and friends and we be pleased to offer our recommendation here too. Thank you, Diana, for such a lovely place to stay and we hope to be back soon!

Staying in Sanne’s place felt like being invited into a dear friend’s beautiful, comfortable home. She is an incredible hostess who greeted us in person and provided with lots of useful information making our stay even more enjoyable. She even left some fresh flowers for us on the dining table and gave us a ride to the airport after our 8 night stay. Like so many people stated before, the Gunnersbury Tube station is less than 5 minutes away. From there it only takes 20 minutes to get to Kensington and to a lot of the wonderful places London has to offer, like the V&A, the National History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. We especially enjoyed our visit at the Kensington Palace and afterwards the High Tea at the “Orangerie” on the palace grounds. We can’t wait to explore more things in London in the future, and will definitely use Sanne’s lovely place as a home base again.
