You can find restaurants from vegan, traditional to haute cusine within a less than a mile. There are buses to Basel, Lörrach and Kandern. By car it takes 20 minutes to Basel.

Start your hikes right outside the door on the Westweg, or mountain bike tour through the Black Forest. Take the S-Bahn (8 min by car) in 30min. To Basel, France is 45 minutes away, Freiburg an hour. The old dyeing plant, a 19th-century factory, was expanded for mixed use. In addition to apartments, workshops and medical practices, guest rooms were built under the shed roofs of the factory halls. It was important to us to give the old building structure a new use and to make it tangible. We were able to completely preserve the building envelope and reuse renovated components in other contexts. New components were left in their natural state.
