We are centrally located between Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Reno, and Carson City, all 20 - 40 miles. The home is also shared with our dogs (2), and cats (3,) who are not allowed in your rooms. Due to our cats, geriatric dogs, and chickens please ensure your four-legged companion is leashed when not in your room.

Our tiny village of about 100 residents is just 12 miles east of Truckee and 15 miles west of Reno. No stores or gas stations allow for quiet solitude, friendly people and lots of stars. The separate entrance leads to your private bedroom and bathroom in the basement of our 125 year old house. Sink into the comfy CalKing bed warmed by the heated mattress pad after a day of skiing, hiking, fishing or bike riding along the Truckee River or in nearby Truckee or Lake Tahoe.

Vintage Ski Cabin

This rustic mountain retreat is right on the Sky Tavern ski hill. Perfect for those who love the back county and want a place to ski in/ski out, back/cross country ski, snow shoe, ice hockey, ice skate and sled in the winter - and in the summer, mountain bike and/or hike. Only another mile or so to Mount Rose ski resort and 11 short miles to gorgeous Lake Tahoe. This place is full of mountain charm - built in 1947 for the Sky Tavern ski school director.
