Vacation rentals with a kayak in Rainbow River

We wanted to take a break from the city we live in and found a perfect retreat at this Airbnb. Located on a canal with a peaceful dock where we had our coffee in the morning. We had friendly turtle visits and a young gator that swam over when he saw us on the dock. We will definitely return in the near future.

Wonderful accomodations and the ability to kayak or paddle board over to the sanctuary within minutes was a great surprise. Already thinking about doing it again!

This home was was such a find! It sits on a point that is surrounded by seven sisters springs. The house was nostalgic and relaxing, we all felt like we were at the family cabin. It was in a very privet setting but close driving distance to good restaurants(the freezer:) and amenities. We will definitely be back, Thank you Jere and Darlene for making us feel at home.

The place is everything that we expected and more. It was like a resort. Everyone had a great time.

Easy access to the River. Boat dock had plenty of room for my 26ft boat. Enjoyed having the pool and loved the layout of the house. This is a good home for a family or even if you have a few more guest with the split floor plan. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for everything,Enjoyed the stay. Thanks!

We had a great stay at Chimera. We brought our own tubes and floated from their other property upriver and back to this property saving us $120. The float took about an hour and a half. Parking at their other location was well marked. The walk from this rental back to the other location to pick up our vehicle took about 40 minutes. The walk was through a neighborhood slightly uphill without side walks. It’s not a bad walk for adults or teenagers. Using the kayaks was great.The river water by the private dock directly on the river at Chimera has two sandy river bottom patches we stood in and swam around. The current river depth was about five feet by the dock. We saw Fred the bird, fish, small turtles, a young bobcat, and four otters swimming/feeding by the dock almost every day. We did not see any alligators during this stay but have along the river during previous trips which have avoided humans. Chimera is in a great river location. Hal and Sandy are friendly and take ownership pride

We loved our stay at George’s with our toddler and dog. The house was very clean and the backyard was spacious. Very well equipped home with conveniences not included at all air bnbs, which we really appreciated. We had so much fun taking a few of the kayaks out on the river and also rented a boat, which we docked at the house. Our dog loved all the room he had to run and we enjoyed breezy afternoons and gorgeous sunsets sitting out by the river. Cranes, a turtle and an alligator were all seen from the backyard. We felt immersed in nature while still being a quick drive away from grocery, restaurants and both Rainbow River and Hunter Springs (15 min). My husband appreciated the grill and espresso machine. The only downside is the master shower, which js a bit cramped for a 6’2 guy and near impossible for me to shower without getting my hair wet, so I used the bath/shower in the other bathroom instead! We would stay here again!

Our family had a great stay here. Very close to Rainbow Springs for tubing and kayaking. It was just as listed with everything we needed, stocked kitchen with all essentials including coffee and eggs! Kids had a blast enjoying all the games inside and outside, kept them busy all day. Lots of great outdoor seating for the adults to relax and watch the kids play. We enjoyed tubing on the River- did the 2 hour route starting at the Tubing entrance just 5 minutes up the road- you can’t bring the kayaks to the tubing area fyi. We also took the provided paddle board and kayaks up to the Headsprings- just be prepared to carry them the 1/4 mile to the launch area! Also make sure to grab the kayak seats and paddle board fins from the garage, we are novices and didn’t realize until we got out there that the seats weren’t actually on the big kayak but we made it work and found them in the garage when we got back. Family of 5 (3 kids) and two dogs from VA. Felt the house was perfect with a great yard and cool trees. The dogs didn’t need leashed and could be at ease with pool access being safe. (My dogs can’t swim) The sheets were real cotton (this means a lot) and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of bedding and pillow options. Kitchen had the basics to cook meals which was easier. The house had everything we needed to have a great vacation other than food to eat. Close to everything we wanted to do. A great trail that was not a commercialized walk where we saw armadillos, manatees, an alligator, bald eagles, snakes and we could hear two owls talking. It was perfection. The swing out back was a nice peaceful touch and I really appreciated the grill. We saw crystal clear water at three sisters while kayaking as well as dolphins at sunset. We took a boat cruise to an island and found more shells I’ve seen in my life. I’d come back again and again. No hoopla where tons of people were.

Shannon’s place was so cozy!! It was so clean and decorated so well. The location was close to restaurants and being right on the canal was so convenient. We were able to paddle Monkey Island. Shannon was a phenomenal host. She made sure we were taken care of and was very responsive. Would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend the apartment, nice backyard directly at the water. Beautifully renovated bath- and bedrooms. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals. Hosts were reachable and very supportive. Perfect for a weekend-escape into the green!

Nice little cottage tucked away and away from people very quiet and relaxing place charming cottage very clean and just big enough for two people Very easy process for our first air bnb and the owners were great to work with The yard was very nice for the dog he is older so it was just big enough for him to sniff. Location to get to things local is great and very good restaurants nearby Would recommend

We are so happy we chose Dardens cabin as our spot to reset and relax. We work a lot and rarely get a chance to take time for ourselves and we were definitely due. My favorite part was being able to sit in the screened in patio, read a book and enjoy the beautiful nature outside while my boyfriend cooked on the grill. This place did exactly what we needed it to do and would definitely come back again.

It was a cute clean home with all the extra stuff you may forget. It was great.

We were looking for a quiet get away and we got what we were looking for!!! Seclusion and quiet!!!! Saturday was a little loud with the summers launching and loading in the empty lot next door but it was short and brief, so it didn’t bother us.

This is a perfect spot for a peaceful weekend getaway and exploring in nature. A highlight of the stay was seeing all the wildlife on the Chassahowitzka River! This cabin was cozy, and felt like home. We appreciated amenities like board games, the grill and kayaks (& lifevests) which made the experience seamless. Make sure you bring your own mask and snorkel to make the most of this great spot with its very own river access!!

Beautiful Location. So peaceful and quiet. We really enjoyed the dock and outdoor space. Very clean and comfortable. We only enjoyed a short weekend but will definitely stay here next visit.

The Tin Roof Cabin was so nice! It was tastefully decorated and very clean. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed and more. It was nice to be able to log in to our Netflix account on the smart tv. Lou Ann was very friendly and helpful. It exceeded our expectations!

Leslie was very responsive. The setting is private and the covered deck on rainy days wonderful to relax on. Leslie provided much appreciated extras like healthier cooking pans, sharp knives, a cutting board, and a medicine kit which are not usually provided in my years of experience. A word of caution apparently regarding airbnb policy. Check for potential price changes on your reservation Even IF you are subtracting something!!! Because I didn’t end up taking my dog with (deleting the pet fee), it changed my reservation and a $142.20 increase (county tax fee) was added! 😱

Experience was perfect and exactly what my husband and I needed to get some R&R and peace away from the busy city. Lots of great fishin off the dock. Bluegill, gar, bowfin,catfish, and a wee baby alligator. Friendly people nearby and good food and live music at the restaurant across the street. We will definitely return.

You can’t beat the hospitality and the views. Perfect for small center consoles and bay boats. Cameron was friendly and very helpful would recommend this place to any scalloper or inshore fishermen.
